Reality of Nicotine Reform Provides Long-Lasting Tailwinds for 22nd Century Group

Real cigarettes are going to continue to be government approved and readily available. Possibly, cigarettes could be prescriptions…..

This prescription thought, predicted by me here and here, of course the definition of nicotine as tobacco, is still tobacco. They don’t like nicotine, but despite the peek-a-boo games they play, “they” love taxes from smoking. Please keep smoking.

“The initiative was cheered by anti-smoking groups and policymakers”

David Goerlitz

David Goerlitz. If you don’t know who he is, you should. From the face of Winston in the 1980’s to the anti-tobacco movement in the 1990’s, David is looking for smokers.

He wants those asking questions to know the truth.

Now.

“In my quest in 2018 to get more than a million smokers OR more to transition to Vaping BECAUSE THEY tell me THEY are ready and convinced that it is their time, having done their research and homework on THEIR OWN regarding the benefits of vaping over smoking, I will be endorsing my picks for the best starter package to make the crossover not only rewarding and effective, but exciting and worthy of the effort.”

The health impact of e-cigarettes they don’t want you to know

health

Health is important. The impact of proper information for smokers making choices about their health is more important. The health impacts e-cigarettes make on less smoking are beyond the wildest dreams of those genuinely interested in less smoking.

A more common objective is biased information permeating public opinion through the media – who always seem happy to oblige. Unethical hypocrites censor valuable information for fear of their own fiscal health. It isn’t what they tell you behind a shroud of important titles, it’s what they decide to tell you. Is there an underlying method to their approach?

When someone reaches a point in their lives where they choose to stop smoking,  manipulation and lies are not needed. Offering false promises and *unicornian hopes of approved methods to stop smoking, smokers only become disappointed in themselves. The bullying words “smoking is evil” is manufactured propaganda. If less harm is truly the goal, speak often and loudly. If the strategy of convincing the public only of dangers sounds like a tragedy, it certainly is.

What are the health impacts of e-cigarettes? The “health impacts” of e-cigarettes are covered more than a few times in this blog. From “anecdotal” evidence in my and other surveys – right down to a science on the left colum in the links provided.

There are health impacts a smoker may be concerned about before using e-cigarettes, but public health “experts” pick and choose what the public is told. They won’t tell you what they don’t want you to know. The moralistic approach needs to stop.

Ethical Standards

First, ethical standards are not something these holier than thou idiots adhere to. The impact health officials parade around are about morality. Morals are standards set by those who want their standards met by others. If your revenue depends directly on the sales of what you’re fighting against by design, there is a conflict of interest. Period. Misrepresentation, fraud and criminal activity comes to mind.

Next, if you believe the goal of “less smoking” is the final goal, why are “experts” still babbling about anything aside from science. Hypothetical opinions and deceptive rants portrayed as “expertise” are deterring people from doing what the intended purpose supposedly is… that’s counterproductive. This isn’t about health. The desire to instill control over smokers outweighs the alleged “desired” end result. They don’t want you to know.

Third, what incentive is there for government to fail? What impact is there to deny information to the public? What is the return on investment on an estimated $20 million FDA initiative of tax dollars to determine people can keep smoking tobacco?

Thanks, in part, to Matt Myers of Tobacco-Free Kids, the cost of lying to adults is now in the BILLIONS.

The CDC fails to recognize the harm reduction benefits of smokeless tobacco, instead telling curious smokers looking for accurate information that there is simply not enough research to confirm that these products carry far less health risks than cigarettes.

Deception’ Over The Risks Of Smoking Alternatives Violates ‘Public Health Ethics

What are the health implications?

The idea of e-cigarettes took most of these experts by surprise, beyond comprehension. There’s obvious health advantages, yet the  impact of e-cigarettes are disrupting all aspects of “anti” and tobacco control so much they claim it is “partially understood”. They can’t completely comprehend “less smoking”.

Practical Implications for Continuing Education

  • The use of electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) has become very popular in the United States, including among youth.
  • The health impacts of ENDS are only partly understood, but the preponderance of research suggests that using current-generation ENDS is significantly less harmful than using combustible tobacco products.

Key issues surrounding the health impacts of electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) and other sources of nicotine

Harm Minimization

Although this chart below doesn’t show approved medications, this is progress. Harm

Potential deaths averted

The health impact is less smoking.

However, evidence is mounting that e-cigarettes deliver only a small percentage of the toxicants delivered by cigarettes. (26–32) In addition, newer e-cigarettes models have been shown to more efficiently deliver nicotine (29 30 33) than older models and provide sensorimotor experiences and ‘throat-hit’ similar to smoking, (34) thus increasing their potential to serve as effective substitutes for cigarettes.

Potential deaths averted in USA by replacing cigarettes with e-cigarettes

This isn’t about health

If this were about health there’d be a much different tone from those “in charge”.  If those in charge were truly trying to “help” people stop smoking, they would gladly taking on the challenge to make e-cigs better, and put themselves out of business. There is a monumental difference in smoking and using an e-cigarette. There is NO tobacco, no combustion. That, on its own, should be more than enough to spark interest in anyone “fighting” smoking, but it isn’t, and no mainstreamorganization” cares.

E-cigarette emissions span most of this range with the preponderance of products having potencies<1% of tobacco smoke and falling within two orders of magnitude of a medicinal nicotine inhaler

Comparing the cancer potencies of emissions from vapourised nicotine products including e-cigarettes with those of tobacco smoke

What is appropriate for “public health”?

Really? At this point, those who pretend they know what they’re talking about need to shut up. Those who know better need to stand up. Those who are deceiving the public need to be put in their place now, not later.

Distorting research makes academic opinions sound scary and is supported by mainstream media more than the truth can ever be. Calling nicotine “tobacco” is a license to print money.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is regulating nicotine as tobacco.

Let me rephrase that.

The FDA is regulating both nicotine in e-cigarettes and devices as tobacco.

The act mandates that FDA’s action not be “arbitrary or capricious,” and that actions be “appropriate for the protection of the public health,” the primary phrase of focus for this project.

Ethically Interpreting Eight Words in the Tobacco Control Act to Help FDA and the Courts

Controlling health challenges ahead

The plot thickens… not only do “experts” want more smoking (predicted here), they have invested now over 100 MILLION dollars to keep tobacco burning. Not only do they want more smoking, nobody cares. In fact, they want to use cigarettes to prescribe smoking.

The impact of less smoking is less revenue.

Below, bold and red are my emphasis disbelief.

The FDA together with other agencies of the U.S. government have invested over $100 million in several independent medical studies which have shown the health benefits of the company’s proprietary tobacco cigarettes.

Dr. Dorothy Hatsukami a principal investigator in the trial has publicly indicated that an immediate reduction in consumption of nicotine is “most likely to lead to less harm.

You can read that again, but I’m here to help.

Dr. Hatsukami thinks smoking cigarettes is “most likely to lead to less harm“. Are you stupid?

Oh look, more cigarettes…

Philip Morris wants to quit smoking

Much to their surprise and humor, tobacco control is now watching tobacco giant Philip Morris take the battle on themselves to fight – themselves.

Where it makes no sense, tobacco control and anti-tobacco are now fighting against a “smoke-free world“.

If it looks like a duck and lies like a duck, it must be a pigeon.

Dick explains: Tobacco Control Pigeons, Meet Philip Morris’s Cat

Like most things, distractions and propaganda designed to look like truthful information, aren’t.

I’m more concerned about the things experts are concerned with when they withhold the information they don’t want you to know.

Ethical Standards in Tobacco Control are “Height of Hypocrisy”

Ethical money to burn

Ethical Standards in Tobacco Control

The height of hypocrisy. It’s like they have money to burn.

Powerful public health officials do not want money directly from tobacco giant Philip Morris International (PMI) due to fears it may compromise their ethical standards. The ethics they insist, in fact, scream for tobacco companies to adhere to, do not apply to them. Grants offered by Foundation for a Smoke-Free World (Funded by PMI) were met with the “height of hypocrisy” and denounced as if the devil himself had taken out the middleman; smokers.

It can’t look as if anti-tobacco would belly up to the funding bar accepting money from a tobacco company. Harvard School of Public Health was considering it and concluded they would deny the offer. On Twitter, Kent made an excellent observation: “Says a lot if a university can’t guarantee impartiality no matter the funding.”

I ask, does it really matter where the money comes from if the research is done with the highest ethical standards? What are they afraid of?

Unethical Funding Standards

Money filtered through smokers is acceptable. Did you know taxes from smoking finances what these professionals call “ethical” research? They rely on smokers for the tax from sales of tobacco to create grants – to fund research the old-fashioned way. What it boils down to is more smoking. Hypocrisy is thriving. Funding relies on smokers. Their livelihood depends on tobacco taxes. In fact, to try to “help” smokers, they’ve adhered to less than ethical standard advice for years.

No conflict of interest there.

Money And Ethics

“Ukraine has a positive experience in the past years of increasing tobacco taxes. In the period between 2008 and 2017, the average rate of excise duty on a packet of cigarettes increased by 20 times and the state budget revenues increased from 3.5 billion UAH to the projected 40 billion UAH in 2017. The number of smokers declined from 10 million to 6.5 million, according to the State Statistics Service. The GATS 2017 showTo ed a 20% reduction in smoking prevalence among adults over the past 7 years in Ukraine.”

Robert Innes explains:

“That is WHO FCTC talking the talk but look at the accompanying graph and ask yourself – what is the REAL reason for Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) suggesting that governments raise taxes on smoking (Keeping in mind that the WHO FCTC is controlled by the very same governments)”

Ethics Under The microscope

To shift the focus from themselves, the tobacco control, anti-tobacco and public health experts are refusing to grasp the concept of less harm. The blueprint is the elimination of tobacco. Always displaying a distrustful and combative tone, their war has been met with common sense, screaming because their financial ball livelihood is being deflated. Matt Myers, President of Tobacco Free Kids explained a 1.8 Billion dollar loss in tax revenue for the United States here:

(I colored the red as loss, green as gain)

You can click the graphic to enlarge

Ethics

DrMA explains a perplexing position for tobacco control:

Investors aren’t happy about it either.

What this means

This means, for the tobacco companies, it is business as usual. They are in business to sell a product. They are in business and expect to survive.  By doing so, they are looking directly at the trend of smokers looking for safer alternatives that work and openly inviting any and all to participate in research.

This means tobacco control and anti-tobacco groups, by default, have a vested interest in continuing a war” on nicotine to control tobacco taxes funded by smoking. This means they want to spend money on useless things like this – and this. This means they will also continue to promote the sales of dangerous and essentially useless products while also being funded by their silent pharmaceutical partners. This also means they will support more smoking by any means necessary.

Ethical Integrity

This means you question the illusion integrity of experts, of those who claim to have the public’s best interest at heart. This means you should question the motives, the fiscal goals, and hypocrisy of most of those in charge. This means those having an effort of eliminating smoking would have a final goal of eliminating themselves. That, my friends, means fighting smoking by those funded by the source, is in itself, an interest that will conflict with ethical standards. It’s a smokescreen. By default or design, that means smoking can never go away. It’s like they have money to burn.

Can you quit smoking with patches and gums?

Quit smoking patch gum

CAN you quit smoking with patches and gums?

Are attempts with these quit smoking products successful? Can you find success rates for them? Do they work? Can you quit smoking? I’m sure there are a few who will say yes. I say it is a deceptive practice to say you can.

To quit smoking with any approved method is a challenge. Why is that?  Can you quit with Nicorette® patches and gums? I asked, not so innocently, for success rates with Nicorette® product(s). I was given an 800 number to get personalized attention.  Has anyone ever thought to ask as they were purchasing their product? I’m always asking silly rhetorical questions. It’s a hobby.

Will quitting be successful for you?

If they were as successful as commercials and graphics are intended to make you “feel” by helping people quit smoking, wouldn’t they say so immediately? Give me something, like a 94% satisfaction rate. 85% of our customers are smoke-free. Repeat the successful rates of the product to potential customers, not the success of repeat customers trying again. Fine, I’m reaching for the perverbial stars, I suppose.

I’m guessing a 7% success rate.

What are success rates for Nicorette® patches and gums? I don’t know. Nicorette® evidently doesn’t either. It is that time of year, with New Years Eve coming up, ads will be convincing you that you can succeed. Keep trying. Do your best. Their subtle guilt trip illusions are coming.

I asked  “What are the success rates with your product” directly to Nicorette®,  made by Glaxo-Smith Kline on Twitter. I didn’t think it would be a hard question.

Not that Glaxo-Smith Kline would ever do anything to deter any other method of…..

Can you quit smoking?

People spend hours looking up the reviews on the latest appliance they’re thinking about purchasing, but spend 30 seconds deciding on an “approved” method, because you know, if it isn’t an approved method, it must be (bad, dangerous, unproven, deceitful, not taxable, pharma’s idea) just plain wrong.

There are times in some smokers lives where they either choose to quit smoking, or because of various reasons, want to quit. In my instance, I switched to vaping accidentally. I had, however, tried the patches and gums years before and they just didn’t work.

I didn’t even think to ask the doctor about success rates, I assumed they worked. So does the rest of the world. I’d like to see success rates after 6 months, 1 year, heck, call me crazy, 5 years – with relapse rates. (With all that data-driven stuff people like to blab about). Implying that it works isn’t enough any more. Proof by assertion isn’t enough.

How about real world stuff… still waiting.

I rephrased my question, at the time of publishing this blog, there was no response.

My guess is a 93% failure rate.

Don’t take my word for it.

The patches and gums “may, could, might” work. I would say percentages of success are 7%, and I’m being very optimistic with that. For your own sanity, call the company and ask them about success rates. Ask your doctor. Let me know how they respond.

Teen Smoking Drops, Gateway Closes, Unicorns Unemployed

Teen Smoking Drops, Popular Gateway Closes, Unicorns Unemployed

Teen Smoking Drops, Gateway Closes

Teen smoking rates dropped again despite the ever-popular assessment that e-cigarettes “could be” a gateway to smoking. Even this year, stories continue to manipulate public perception with titles like “heavier teen tobacco use” and content to conjure images of a pack of 8-year-olds smoking like it’s going out of style. I’ll get to the unicorns sightings, I know that’s why you’re here.

Also noteworthy, and no surprise, e-cigarette use is going up. Well, hang on to your hats. If e-cigarettes are a gateway to smoking… where are the new smokers? You ponder that question, I’ll keep typing.

They’re wrong, No Gateway

With the confidence of a unicorn herder, always good for a laugh ever-so-credible Stanton Glantz just below boasts “even non-nicotine #ecigarettes are a strong gateway to cigarettes…” and he’s wrong. He uses the word “are”.  Not only is he wrong, he’s wrong at least twice.

glantz tweet

If he were correct in his hypothesis, this would be a different blog. I trust grandstanding filled with babbling and buffoonery is forthcoming from Stan about how wrong he isn’t.  (Blatantly obnoxious and wrong.) He’ll stroke his beard,  fidget in his chair, participate in some pesky deposition, but won’t admit wrong, he and others have been wrong, and will continue to be wrong. With reports of youth smoking rates dropping to all-time lows, thousands of gateway enthusiasts like Stanton “Puff-N-Stuff” Glantz, are… well, I am happy to report as I did in August here, and here, wrong.

Teen smoking drops again

Teen Nicotine and tobacco use (smoking rates) dropped again according to the latest report from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA)  called “Monitoring The Future Survey”.

Use of traditional cigarettes has continued to decline to the lowest levels in the survey’s history.

Significant five-year declines-by more than half for daily use and for use of one-half pack or more per day-were reported by all grades.

Daily cigarette use was reported by 0.6 percent of 8th graders

2.2 percent of 10th graders

4.2 percent of 12th graders in 2017.

This was down from peaks of 10.4 percent and 18.3 percent among 8th and 10th graders in 1996 and a peak of 24.6 percent of 12th graders in 1997.

Despite the valiant efforts of “experts”, despite an uncanny desire to invest in tactics like this to keep kids smoking, they’re smoking less. Now, due to cause and effect, the country has countless unicorns displaced and unemployed. Gateway enthusiasts and Unicorns are looking for work. Kids sure don’t smoke like they used to. Do what you can to save the unicorns, continue to question the integrity of experts.

Since the definition of nicotine is now tobacco, tobacco USE rates/funding are in jeopardy. (I predict next year the “tobacco use” will be put together with smoking in this survey, with or without nicotine). To my knowledge, not one city has made an effort to focus on the intended target: children. Instead of focusing on pre-teen and teen smoking (what I would consider 8-15 year-old juveniles), to educate that age group on tobacco use, so-called “experts” are insistent, despite the lowest smoking rates in history, on half-assed efforts and a lot of money aimed at raising the age of purchasing tobacco and e-cigs to 21.

Teens Are Smoking Less

While I was writing this blog, this came across my eye. (Thanks, Jenny!)

While all the “Tobacco 21” enthusiasts are running around feeling good about themselves, the teen smokers they should be spending energy on are already smoking. In this, it states the desire to raise the age to 21. Well. The paragraph above I stated 8-15 as the age range to educate, where (bold emphasis is mine) this study says:

“The mean age for the first puff on a cigarette was 11.7 years (n = 66). Youths who had stolen tobacco from a parent reported a mean age for the first puff (11.3 years), one year earlier than youths who had never stolen tobacco from a parent (12.3 years, n = 66, p = 0.05)”

Focus time on efforts, not control

11 year olds. 12 year olds. Why are they worrying about restricting 18-20-year-old adults again? Why are they not worried about pre-teen and teen tobacco use? Oh, that’s right, they’re experts. It’s pretty obvious a quick check with my untrained eye on the target age of when children first initiate smoking *in their own study* isn’t their expertise.  Maybe no one noticed.

You would think efforts focusing on pre-teen smoking education before a potential problem occurs would be more fruitful, and the obvious primary focus. Instead, restrict adults from doing something that “they might do” as adults has become the idiotic trend.

As far as my personal view, I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again:

On teens: “If “children” are *already smoking, they’re *smokers regardless of age. Think of the children™.”

If these people worked on the…. they might work themselves right out …. of… a …. job . . . wait a minute….

Smoking Is Preferred According To Public Health Leaders

Smoking Is Preferred

Smoking Is Preferred

You wouldn’t think smoking is preferred by public health leaders. Any opportunity to “eliminate” smoking should be of the highest priority to those claiming it causes XXX,XXX deaths a year. If it were important, public health would take crucial steps to stop it using any means necessary. Well, the evidence is in, it isn’t that important. They prefer a “middleman”, an illusion of clean hands, fiscal integrity, an indirect conflict of interest, professionally. See, the leading cause of funding for tobacco control is taxes derived from smoking. Let me put that another way: Smoking funds finance tobacco control.

Hypocrites.

When “professionals” heard of the Foundation for a Smoke-Free World, they were outraged. In fact, there was a “Frank Statement” against it. There is an open letter from 123 health groups (count the number of groups addicted to sales of tobacco and taxes derived in any form on that list). Accepting grants directly from a tobacco company to fund research of course, is not acceptable to professionals. Taking money from smoking the “old fashioned way” to “fight” smoking? They’re addicted to that, that’s just fine.

When tobacco control “experts” and public health leaders around the world received an email from Derek Yach, President of the Foundation for a Smoke-Free World, the reaction was typical, the result was elementary school-yard bullying.

There were less than than professional responses. Dr. Michael Siegel, a former student of Professor Glantz,  has refused a position at the newly formed Foundation for a Smoke-Free World. (Covered here and by me, here.)

Smoking Is Preferred According To Public Health LeadersHow is tobacco control funded again?

One example: California’s Prop 56 is funded ” through tobacco excise taxes”.

Matt Myers created the Master Settlement Agreement. He worked WITH tobacco companies to create the largest ponzi scheme in the world. In one year, between 2016 and 2017, that scheme lost 1.8 Billion dollars.

The problem is, taxing something and needing it to fund the solution
for it….. doesn’t….. work. On the contrary, it creates a Ponzi scheme and that money goes up in smoke.

Smoking is important to control

According to The Wire, Ilona Kickbusch stated

“I head a WHO collaborating centre and have no wish to be associated with tobacco companies and money in any way.”

Abject stupidity. Taxes from smoking are devoured.

According to the World Health Organization, there are rules. Among other ~controlly~ things within, it seems silly to mention, Article 5.3 directly states:

  • Require that information provided by the tobacco industry be transparent and accurate.
  • Parties should ensure that any interaction with
the tobacco industry on matters related to
tobacco control or public health is accountable and
    transparent.
  • Where interactions with the tobacco industry are necessary, Parties should ensure that such interactions are conducted transparently. Whenever possible, interactions should be conducted in public, for example through public hearings, public notice of interactions, disclosure of records of such interactions to the public.

I couldn’t find anything showing demands of public health requiring transparency, ethics or integrity of itself. That’s ok. I can see right through them.

Smoking

The louder they scream wolf

A big mouth, with little context, retired professor Simon Chapman tweeted:

Smoking

The reaction by select global public health leaders is simply another unprofessional example of the public health scream test. Tobacco “Control” has always been at “war” with tobacco. They are shifting the blame, creating a smokescreen they have accused tobacco companies of doing for decades. Pressure is mounting, and the “endgame” they love to talk about has new rules. This isn’t about harm reduction, it isn’t about heat not burn, or snus, or ecigs. It’s about money. Fiscal Health. Control. It seems Philip Morris, despite the appearance others are trying to portray, has found peace with its position and, despite even my own weak suspicions, is trying to change the world.

Experts want smoking just the way it is. What are they afraid of? Despite false flags, innuendo and well-thought-of tactics, they have become their own enemy and are afraid of smoking going away. They are not the ones in control. They’re threatened by what is obvious, their own demise. In reality, the younger generation is proving itself over the last decade, tobacco control will be another casualty of smoking – it already is without them.

This is Why Tobacco Control Should not be Trusted

Here’s what happened last year:

from Neil McKeganey Ph.D. Christopher Russell Ph.D. themselves:

Why Academics Should Resist Pressure to Disengage with the Tobacco Industry

Tobacco Control experts are having a bad week with credibility, integrity

Manipulation, deception, abuse of power, control.

Tobacco Control Experts Are Having A Bad Week

With credentials at stake, two of the top (“self-proclaimed”) experts in the tobacco control world have had their reputations questioned this week. Both are were highly regarded by each other along with a select group of individuals. Both are under fire.

Both of the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty, of course, in a court of law.

Allegations

First and most serious are allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation by Professor Stanton Glantz in California’s University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).

Certainly Glantz is another in the scope of accusations against politicians, Hollywood, and other places in the world.

glantz paper 2

Within court documents, it shows “in my opinion”, accusations of manipulation of research.

The full court documents, in this case, are available here.

glantz pointing

Stan, according to his user profile at UCSF is”the Truth Initiative Distinguished Professor of Tobacco Control”. Well known in the anti-tobacco world, he has been no stranger to controversy over conduct with research in the past.

Christopher Snowden covers that eloquently here:

Stanton Glantz: Then and now.

Research Credibility

With the obvious larger issues at hand, and although not charged,  Federal Research Misconduct *may, *might, or *could also stem from this case.

Research misconduct is defined as fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism in proposing, performing, or reviewing research, or in reporting research results.

  • Fabrication is making up data or results and recording or reporting them.
  • Falsification is manipulating research materials, equipment, or processes, or changing or omitting data or results such that the research is not accurately represented in the research record.3
  • Plagiarism is the appropriation of another person’s ideas, processes, results, or words without giving appropriate credit.
  • Research misconduct does not include honest error or differences of opinion.

Manipulation, deception, persuasion, abuse of power, control.

*The reason (not that I need one) I mention the research misconduct above is because of what Lorien says below.

Each time this happens, I hear the (paraphrase) words “a man in his position should know better”. I’d like to re-word that bullshit statement. NO man (or woman) should put themselves IN that position.

I do NOT understand why this is acceptable.

I am also waiting for Truth Initiative and UCSF to release a statment.

This world has long been a 24 hour news cycle. Tick. Tock.

*Update 12/8/17: Glantz has made a statement on his blog: Statement regarding litigation filed by Dr. Eunice Neeley:

Seems Stan accidentally deleted his page… could be a glitch…

Simon Chapman: The E̶m̶p̶e̶r̶o̶r̶ ̶ Emeritus Wears No Clothes Down Under.

There comes a time where things need to be said. People in charge need to be pointed out. There have been things that no one, specifically Simon Chapman, wanted to talk about, like suggestions of law, regulations, and opinion to manipulate nicotine in this instance, but “don’t talk about it”.

Public health, is top secret stuff, evidently.

I would be irresponsible if I didn’t link Clive Bates covering the paper above here.

The “discussion paper” (Note the other names in that) surely in part, brought this idiotic fine “penalty system” where posession of nicotine includes fines (and jail time) and cigarettes are legal:

Act Like An Expert

I’ve proudly called Simon Chapman a “chimpmanzee” among other obvious things here.

As an “expert” in tobacco control, it’s been pointed out by much smarter people than I am (in many instances) that Simon is wrong. You’d think, with his Ph.D. in social medicine that he would know better.

It isn’t the first time Mr. Chapman has been called out here, here & here.

Christopher Snowden could go on here.

chapman1.JPG

An assertion does not make you correct

This one is one of my favorite instances of assertion by Simon Chapman, and it still puzzles me as to why he would ever make such a rookie professional mistake.

Remember, this statement is from a tobacco control EXPERT influencing public HEALTH and tobacco control. I’d expect such a person to know everything there is to know about nicotine.

If you happen to be an “expert”, act like one. Make it a goal to know more than common people like me, or Judith below.

chapman nicotine.JPG

Even in his retirement, he wants to assert control.

Name calling and… well, who’s above that…

I’ve thought of calling Simon Chapman a “pretentious prick”. A “man-child”. I’ve thought “what an arrogant pompous ass”, yet I’ve only given time and effort where I thought it may be most appropriate. Like now.

It isn’t like Chapman would ever call anyone attempting to engage him properly,  (yes I did) trolls.

Let us clear the decks, call out the lies of those who have more power and funding than brains who are influencing idiotic policy with less than desireable required credentials and force them to answer the questions publicly.

I don’t want to waste any more of our time.

You can see Senator Leyonhjelm who has balls, discussing Simon Chapman below.

“…Department of Health was so taken aback by Simon Chapman’s false statements that they felt the need to go on the record and clear things up”

“Ill-informed, willfully ignorant and downright malicious”

“Snake oil salesman come in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes they take the guise of an emeritus professor of sociology” ~ Senator Leyonhjelm

Don’t spread this around, Simon is talking about litigation.

Spell my name right, Simon.

As a footnote, the last time I wrote about my pal Simon, he graciously reviewed my inane drivel on Twitter. I aspire to do the same again. Seriously.
