Smoking Is Preferred According To Public Health Leaders

Smoking Is Preferred

Smoking Is Preferred

You wouldn’t think smoking is preferred by public health leaders. Any opportunity to “eliminate” smoking should be of the highest priority to those claiming it causes XXX,XXX deaths a year. If it were important, public health would take crucial steps to stop it using any means necessary. Well, the evidence is in, it isn’t that important. They prefer a “middleman”, an illusion of clean hands, fiscal integrity, an indirect conflict of interest, professionally. See, the leading cause of funding for tobacco control is taxes derived from smoking. Let me put that another way: Smoking funds finance tobacco control.

Hypocrites.

When “professionals” heard of the Foundation for a Smoke-Free World, they were outraged. In fact, there was a “Frank Statement” against it. There is an open letter from 123 health groups (count the number of groups addicted to sales of tobacco and taxes derived in any form on that list). Accepting grants directly from a tobacco company to fund research of course, is not acceptable to professionals. Taking money from smoking the “old fashioned way” to “fight” smoking? They’re addicted to that, that’s just fine.

When tobacco control “experts” and public health leaders around the world received an email from Derek Yach, President of the Foundation for a Smoke-Free World, the reaction was typical, the result was elementary school-yard bullying.

There were less than than professional responses. Dr. Michael Siegel, a former student of Professor Glantz,  has refused a position at the newly formed Foundation for a Smoke-Free World. (Covered here and by me, here.)

Smoking Is Preferred According To Public Health LeadersHow is tobacco control funded again?

One example: California’s Prop 56 is funded ” through tobacco excise taxes”.

Matt Myers created the Master Settlement Agreement. He worked WITH tobacco companies to create the largest ponzi scheme in the world. In one year, between 2016 and 2017, that scheme lost 1.8 Billion dollars.

The problem is, taxing something and needing it to fund the solution
for it….. doesn’t….. work. On the contrary, it creates a Ponzi scheme and that money goes up in smoke.

Smoking is important to control

According to The Wire, Ilona Kickbusch stated

“I head a WHO collaborating centre and have no wish to be associated with tobacco companies and money in any way.”

Abject stupidity. Taxes from smoking are devoured.

According to the World Health Organization, there are rules. Among other ~controlly~ things within, it seems silly to mention, Article 5.3 directly states:

  • Require that information provided by the tobacco industry be transparent and accurate.
  • Parties should ensure that any interaction with
the tobacco industry on matters related to
tobacco control or public health is accountable and
    transparent.
  • Where interactions with the tobacco industry are necessary, Parties should ensure that such interactions are conducted transparently. Whenever possible, interactions should be conducted in public, for example through public hearings, public notice of interactions, disclosure of records of such interactions to the public.

I couldn’t find anything showing demands of public health requiring transparency, ethics or integrity of itself. That’s ok. I can see right through them.

Smoking

The louder they scream wolf

A big mouth, with little context, retired professor Simon Chapman tweeted:

Smoking

The reaction by select global public health leaders is simply another unprofessional example of the public health scream test. Tobacco “Control” has always been at “war” with tobacco. They are shifting the blame, creating a smokescreen they have accused tobacco companies of doing for decades. Pressure is mounting, and the “endgame” they love to talk about has new rules. This isn’t about harm reduction, it isn’t about heat not burn, or snus, or ecigs. It’s about money. Fiscal Health. Control. It seems Philip Morris, despite the appearance others are trying to portray, has found peace with its position and, despite even my own weak suspicions, is trying to change the world.

Experts want smoking just the way it is. What are they afraid of? Despite false flags, innuendo and well-thought-of tactics, they have become their own enemy and are afraid of smoking going away. They are not the ones in control. They’re threatened by what is obvious, their own demise. In reality, the younger generation is proving itself over the last decade, tobacco control will be another casualty of smoking – it already is without them.

This is Why Tobacco Control Should not be Trusted

Here’s what happened last year:

Why Academics Should Resist Pressure to Disengage with the Tobacco Industry

Vaping In The News – October 14th, 2017

hourglass

As I put this weeks edition together, I pondered all the time and public OUR money wasted over the past 10+ years by experts – tracking tweets, buying media, pretending to do studies and claiming science… Then, I wonder…. what have they tried to accomplish… and what other much more important items they’ve done the same with, or ignored in the process.

Instead of babbling, I’ll lead off with a spirited tweet from Ann, who I (and others) miss dearly.

Science Lesson

One of the best ways to learn is to listen and read. That’s why I like reading Carl’s blog. I don’t always agree with Carl, and that is how I learn.

“Ecigs are a replacement for tobacco products. They are not a replacement for lost tobacco taxes.”

I’ve said this a thousand times.

In this instance, there should be NO tax imposed on vaping products (other than normal sales tax). Period. We agree.

SCREAM TEST / Scream Test Update ~ DANA Statement: Australia ~ THR4Life ~ FDA Warnings ~ Air Quality ~ Corruption ~ Show Me The Money ~ Gonzo Gives ~ Snork ~ Tobacco Taxes ~ Tobacco Experts ~ Regulator Watch ~ Foundation For A Smoke-Free World

Experts in tobacco CONtrol are nervous and well aware of their demise as they squealed like stuck pigs after the announcement of Foundation for a Smoke-Free World and Philip Morris’s 1 Billion dollar commitment to the same…

Australia finds nurses on board with vaping… An introduction to the Board Members of THR4life… The FDA warnings are useless…. Gonzo Gives…. Regulator Watch… Foundation For A Smoke-Free World…Taxes… and more.

This is Vaping In The News for the week ending September 23rd, 2017

😱 Scream Test

This reads like a desperate eulogy written by well seasoned & nearly extinct tobacco CONtrol freaks.

To shed light upon on themselves and their continued failure as “experts” is sadly amusing. I encourage one of you to send these idiots some flowers. Tell them to try harder. They can do it.

(Thanks to the authors!)

A “Frank Statement” for the 21st Century?

Scream Test Update

I would be remiss, and this would not be complete without Dick Puddlecoat’s explanation:

FDA Warnings

Air Quality

The Centers for Disease Control did a test. Huh. Jim McDonald delves into what they did, or didn’t find… and won’t talk about.

Corruption

Tobacco Control ‘Experts’ Fight AGAINST A Smoke-Free World

Please indulge me in a bit of shameless self-promotion. I’d like to take a moment to proudly introduce my first submission to the Daily Caller & Daily Vaper. I was humbled, surprised and honored when I was contacted to submit to them.

I was also relieved. Why? The consideration was immediate. With 20 million possible eyes, and no pop ups, I’m in.

Instead of preaching to the choir, I hope their estimated audience of 20 million people might see what this blog has been trying to say for (4+ years) so long.

My submission on the scream test from above:

Tobacco Control ‘Experts’ Fight AGAINST A Smoke-Free World

Foundation For A Smoke-Free World

This is what causes tobacco control to pull their hair out. I’m enjoying the show.

You can see the website here : Foundation For A Smoke-Free World

Regulator Watch

ANY attention to any attempt to STOP the Food and Drug Administration to cease and desist is attention. Some disagree, some are supportive.

One may agree or disagree in the tactics deployed by any industry or consumer group, but to have egos in the way of progress towards what should be little to no regulation of vaping products, (industry manufacturing standards, no sales tax other than normal sales tax), one with half a brain would give deeper consideration to any efforts being put forth rather than dismissing them.

My deepest thanks to Brent Stafford from Regulator Watch for continuing to educate me as a consumer in what seems like an endless regulatory carnival ride.

It’s a doctor’s duty to recommend the best ways to live a healthy lifestyle for his or her patients, but it is also our duty to recognize the realities of certain situations. NO one. Period.

Doug, you’ve got that right.

Honesty

This next piece, from Sen. Steve Linthicum (R-Oregon) took me by surprise.

I’m not used to seeing brutal honesty or integrity, so enjoy it.

“Every time the nanny-state intrudes into the middle of our families, then our individual liberty and personal responsibility is diminished.

The gradual accumulation of small, seemingly insignificant legislated tyrannies will destroy the very foundation upon which our free republic was built.”

Smoking age law simply more nanny state

Imagine the implications

“I got a few free nicotine patches. I was interested in seeing if I could feel the nicotine,’ he told Watchdog.org. “But the next morning in the shower, I felt something strange on my skin and I was like, ‘Oh yeah, I forgot!’ It was imperceptible.”

Carl V. Phillips:

So apparently there is a UK organization known as the Royal Society of Public Health which presumably had some importance back when the East India Company was not just a retail brand.

Speaking Of Honesty

I’ll let THE Fergus Mason speak for himself. For all of us. Something like that.

Just to set the record straight I thought I’d set out why the public health profession is so unpopular with vapers. Settle down in your comfiest chair; this could take a while.

Dear Public Health: This is why we’re angry

“Willing to compromise”

I’m not sure why this took so long to surface from 2015, but the truth is finally spoken from a researcher about e-cigarettes in the video, and from Shannon.

This is where arrogance and the fiscal health –  of taxing e-cigarettes – collide.

That video is here in full.

Ecigs: Paradigm shift or Pavlov’s dog?

greed

Have you noticed a shift in in reporting in the United States about e-cigs? Have they completely lost their minds? No… If you start to notice it, there’s a reason. On August 8th, 2016, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) deemed nicotine as tobacco –  and took the reign over ecigs.

It’s mind-boggling how nicotine and such things as batteries being defined as tobacco products can make an expert think.

The public has suffered an onslaught of headlines, #fakenews and click-bait touting “A million more times harmful” and “formaldehyde”. A chorus of experts have sung everyone’s classic “Think Of The Children™ in tune to garner support.

Americans have been settling for less.

This change in the weather has taken a LOT of work. Health groups have been working in tandem to demonize e-cigs without fail to create the controversy, to control public opinion, to keep resistance to a bare minimum. Now it’s suppertime.

Not so long ago, e-cigs were bad. There are astounding examples and a great blog by Robert Innes about that here:

But I Am Hardly an Expert…

shift

Now, since the FDA has defined nicotine as a “tobacco product”, a paradigm shift has occurred. There must be one big-ass mass email of “ok folks, let’s roll the other way now” put out by tobacco control.

Not all, but some organizations are posting “less hateful” news. I predict more.

The government is serving pie.

*DING

pavlov

The bell has rung. They don’t care about safety, children, chemicals or your “journey” to stop smoking. Now they’re motivated. There is official drooling and control.

Please, smoke ’em if you got ’em- and now taxes of your vaping products will be sufficient.

The association with “safer” in the health world is the addiction trigger to all who, directly or indirectly operate with or, are funded by, tobacco tax –  as e-cigs become surprisingly more acceptable.

“When it’s over I predict that each camp will claim plausible deniability to the fact that it takes someone from smoking, keeps them from smoking, and keeps all involved from revenue unless it is deemed & taxed like a tobacco product.”

(Please, KEEP SMOKING! Plausible Deniability, an Incestuous Relationship.)

Get your napkins. The”taxing of nicotine” bell has rung.

You can almost hear the good intentions coming down tobacco roads.

You can almost smell fresh pie cooking. (Thanks FIG!)

They still insist nicotine is addictive. Dangerous, even. “They” claim more dangerous than heroin. That’s pretty drastic. Kind of scares me. Fine, dear reader, it doesn’t scare me. It scares the government enough, though, eh?

I’d like to sit down with “they” for a few hours, have some coffee. Discuss a few finer points of life in general, chat a bit, and tell them now they’re trying to convince everyone it’s the nicotine.

I say it’s NOT the nicotine. Stimulant, like coffee I’ll agree with. Drug? Fine.

Addictive? No. I’ve covered that here.

You know that doesn’t matter!

Update: Nicotine is not addictive.

They’re not listening to us. They have tobacco fields to tend to!

Are There Other Chemicals That May Contribute to Tobacco Addiction?

The FDA says – and non-committal as it sounds, that it does not “appear to have significant potential for abuse or dependence….. ” (addiction).

nicotineaddiction

So, to make my prediction, since the New England Journal of Medicine released this

Randomized Trial of Reduced-Nicotine Standards for Cigarettes

Aaaand – The National Institute on Drug Abuse released this:

New Study Shows Benefits of Reducing Nicotine in Cigarettes

(Took their time to create and then tweeted this state of the art graphic:)

nicotinereducedcigarettes

Briefly – they mention towards the end of their “official” story:

(This is where the perpetuate their lie) –>Nicotine is responsible for the addictiveness of tobacco, but it is not the ingredient that causes cancer and heart and pulmonary diseases.

Smoking still causes nearly half a million deaths each year in our country. Research now suggests that reducing the nicotine in cigarettes to a fraction of its current levels may be one way to lessen the health-destructive power of these products.

Now, with all that, the media – because they do love a good story, I predict that this:

New ‘low-nicotine’ cigarette could help smokers kick habit

“It is our hope, that because that this is such an intrinsic health concern that we will be able to get this approved in a swift and fast process,” Gellman said.

The company will be working toward FDA approval by the end of 2016……   Huh.

I hate math, but let us do it quickly, shall we? I have a prediction to make!

smoking.JPG

Will lead to this:

Thank you, Jake Jacobson:

People will still smoke. People will try and use these, and someone in the professional health field will still say these are “safer”.

People will believe this is “safer”. Because they said so. Tobacco obviously isn’t the issue.

So, e-cigarettes are not safer? Huh.

Are. You. Stupid?

From 2007, FDA Director Dr. Andrew von Eschenbach had quite a bit to say:

“We could find ourselves in the conundrum of having made a decision about nicotine only to have made the public health radically worse. And that is not the position FDA is in; we approve products that enhance health, not destroy it,” said von Eschenbach, a urologic surgeon and oncologist who was confirmed as FDA commissioner in December.

Later in the article:

“In an hourlong interview with AP reporters and editors, von Eschenbach repeatedly said the FDA doesn’t need more regulatory authority. When asked if the FDA needed more money, he suggested the agency needs to look at “enhancing our efficiencies, maximizing our outputs for the dollar invested on part of the American people.”

Taxing Thoughts, A Ponzi Scheme.

tax

Taxing thoughts, a Ponzi scheme. Here are my thoughts to you, Mr. Lawmaker. Lots to cover, I’ll try to be brief. Tax on e-liquid. Well, there’s no tobacco in liquid. There’s nicotine in some e-liquid, but not all e-liquid contain nicotine. If e-liquid is a tobacco product, then aren’t other nicotine reduction devices tobacco products as well? The Patch, Nicorette and other nicotine reduction products contain nicotine.

If your desire to tax e-liquid as a tobacco product to create revenue for the great state you are in, then consider the statement you’re making before going forward with this plan. Won’t those nicotine filled tobacco cessation devices fall under “other tobacco products” as well? They don’t contain tobacco.

nicotinedietred

You do know tomatoes, potatoes and other nightshade plants have nicotine in them, right? That’s a fact. Imagine, farmers and gardeners all over are producing nicotine!

 msafunding

The Master Settlement Agreement & Its Impact on Tobacco Use 10 Years Later

To tax devices and components. Well, there again, you’re overstepping your analysis of tobacco. Batteries in and of themselves are not tobacco. Are pipes considered tobacco? Lighters? Ash trays? Then I’d imagine you see how silly taxing a battery or other device as a tobacco product may seem.

Tops used with vaping are nothing more than plastic & a heating element. To say a tax on eliquid or devices is a tax to fund awareness for anti-tobacco or education. Well, that obviously hasn’t worked out well over the years. The Master Settlement Agreement from 1998:

How Wall Street Tobacco Deals Left States With Billions In Toxic Debt

is what those funds are for, are they not?

If it’s then designed to “balance” a state budget, then please, I’d love to tax you so I can balance my budget here at home. I’m not a lawmaker, I certainly don’t know all there is to know about everything, You are imposing a sales tax on something that is not tobacco. I see vaping as an alternative to smoking. I see pure greed in making this a law in any state. I see many people continuing to smoke with the very proposal of a tax.

You wouldn’t want that, would you? I stopped smoking. You and I both know this isn’t about public health. I know it isn’t about children.

It’s about revenue. Cold hard cash. Want some revenue? Tax some golf courses at these rates proposed. (Sorry golfers, just an example).

In essence, the tax on tobacco and then including vaping with it, is a ponzi scheme. The way I see it, when the money doesn’t come in like it used to because less tobacco is now being sold due to vaping, the state raises tax rates on what money is coming in, creating revenue on something that is tobacco, and isn’t tobacco.

Not fair to the tobacco user, and certainly not fair to one who is no longer using tobacco.

aaaa

You say investment, I say ponzi scheme. I use a “personal electronic nicotine inhalant device”. I happen to use nicotine in it. Some do not. It’s not a cigarette. It’s not tobacco. It is saving lives.

I have information and testimony on this blog from around the world. Eye opening information. Plenty of links. Plenty of education/information for anyone wanting to know. These devices are changing the world, but a smart legislator like you in your prestigious position surely already knows that. 😉

Please, if you’d like to make a difference in the State you legislate, stand up. Take a powerful and completely noticeable stance on this. Be one of the first to do so. I know it’s not a “popular” thing, but It’s not about tax revenue in the end, It’s about peoples very lives.

Your decision to make a difference is too big to make it lightly and affects not only your state, not only the county, but will speak to the world. I’ll say one more time, lives are what is at stake.

Because of the nicotine? Please. Nicotine is not “addictive” without tobacco / MAOI’s.

Specifically, with non-tobacco users and the patch:

I’m sure you recognize this: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it. Thank you for your time. A non-smoking vaper.
