Tobacco Control ‘Experts’ Fight AGAINST A Smoke-Free World

Please indulge me in a bit of shameless self-promotion. I’d like to take a moment to proudly introduce my first submission to the Daily Caller & Daily Vaper. I was humbled, surprised and honored when I was contacted to submit to them.

I was also relieved. Why? The consideration was immediate. With 20 million possible eyes, and no pop ups, I’m in.

Instead of preaching to the choir, I hope their estimated audience of 20 million people might see what this blog has been trying to say for (4+ years) so long.

Regulator Watch

ANY attention to any attempt to STOP the Food and Drug Administration to cease and desist is attention. Some disagree, some are supportive.

One may agree or disagree in the tactics deployed by any industry or consumer group, but to have egos in the way of progress towards what should be little to no regulation of vaping products, (industry manufacturing standards, no sales tax other than normal sales tax), one with half a brain would give deeper consideration to any efforts being put forth rather than dismissing them.

My deepest thanks to Brent Stafford from Regulator Watch for continuing to educate me as a consumer in what seems like an endless regulatory carnival ride.

Tobacco Harm Reduction For Life

Tobacco Harm Reduction 4 Life (THR4Life) was established to help smokers regain control over their lives by providing balanced and accurate information about tobacco harm reduction.

The primary goal for this organization is honesty and transparency in public health.


What Is “Tobacco Harm Reduction”?

Less harm. Freedom for the consumer choosing an alternative to smoking by being educated in different forms of reducing or elimination of tobacco.

From the traditional forms like a patch or gum, “heat not burn” products, reading an Allen Carr book, or e-cigarettes, the choices need to be clear. It is also imperative to educate the consumer in the failure rates, success rates and side effects of each product.

THR4Life wants to support and educate consumers, allowing them to understand their options in a way that hasn’t been attempted in the United States.

In finding a way to describe “tobacco harm reduction” while writing this, Carl V. Phillips had this to say:

“A harm reduction approach embodies basic human rights, concern for people’s welfare, an enlightened view of individual freedom and dignity, and an effort to resist egocentrism and appreciate others’ perspective and preferences.”

What is Tobacco Harm Reduction?


Whether by default or design, multiple attempts (failure), guilt and shame is “acceptable practice” with existing tactics in the field of  “tobacco control“.

Imagine depending on a trained expert THIRTY times?


Why THR4Life Is Different

Informed choice is something standard “help” fails to focus on for the consumer. For a smoker or smokers families, helping to make an informed choice to reduce or stop tobacco use is a personal one.

With Tobacco Harm Reduction 4 Life, the consumer is the primary focus, and the organization is dedicated to providing balanced and accurate information about the myriad of available tobacco harm reduction (THR) products.

Instead of guilt or shame, information on risk and success rates of available products are paramount in helping someone choose the best method for them, and why.


Tobacco Harm Reduction 4 Life

This organization was a seed planted, an idea, in fact – a vision –  from Ray Yeates of  THRA (Tobacco Harm Reduction Association of Canada) quite a while back and is now breathing air in the United States.

Kevin Price announced the Board Of Directors of Tobacco Harm Reduction 4 Life (A 501c3) July 17th, 2017.

The Board consists of Kevin Price, Lindsey Stroud, Skip Murray, Jenny Hoban, Kevin Crowley (myself) and David Goerlitz.

Members of the Board have already spoken in Detroit Lakes, MN  where efforts to raise the age of smoking, including vaping, would have been 21.

“At the Sept.12th public hearing, and after four months of deliberation, the Detroit Lakes City Council voted (6 – 2) to take no action, turning down all proposed anti-vape ordinance changes – including Tobacco 21! The two council members that did want to move forward, wanted to do so by excluding vapor from the language!”

Another goal is a national toll-free hotline for consumers. Yes, you read that right.

What advice can you give to someone who is choosing a product to help them choose to stop smoking?

I advise smokers to try the product that has the highest success rate.

I want smokers to know the truth so they can make an informed decision.

 


Lindsey Stroud

What was the primary reason you chose to take a position with Tobacco Harm Reduction 4 Life?

Since getting involved with the ENDS community through my role at Heartland, I have been exposed to such a unique population of people who are promoting healthier lifestyles through tobacco harm reduction products. THR4Life is one of the few groups that chooses to embrace all of those products, including snus, electronic cigarettes, and heat-not-burn tobacco products. It is one of the few groups that seeks to inform the public that tobacco should not be demonized, but rather, its usage can be done safely through tobacco harm reduction products.

What advice can you give to someone who is choosing a product to help them choose to stop smoking?

The internet can be your friend, and it can be your enemy. There is a TON of useful information online, but there is always an angle of bias that companies, groups, and others use to push whatever it is that they are pushing. Use the internet like one would use Wikipedia when researching some topic, it’s a nice starting place, but it’s not the end all be all. Conversations with persons in the industry will always be the best go-to, and some of those will probably be able to take place online. Make sure to ask lots of questions and know that most persons in these industries do want to help you quit smoking and they are willing to help create a system that works for you, and it’s way better than the government’s federal helpline.

In one sentence, what do you want consumers to know?

Quitting smoking is very difficult, but the tobacco harm reduction community is an enormous collaboration of individuals who’s goal is to reduce the negative health outcomes of tobacco usage in a manner that is more than “quit smoking or die.”


Skip Murray

What was the primary reason you chose to take a position with Tobacco Harm Reduction 4 Life?

As a Mom who almost lost her son before he was 30 to a smoking related heart attack, I feel it’s my duty to do what ever I can to help people quit smoking. It is also important to fight for modern methods that will reduce the harm of smoking and give people a greater chance at being successful in their efforts to quit.

What advice can you give to someone who is choosing a product to help them choose to stop smoking?

Don’t believe everything you hear in the news. People are afraid of change. Some people have financial reasons to fight change. Think about what you like the most about smoking, what gives you satisfaction. Then look at the various ways there are to quit smoking and try things that won’t make you feel deprived.

I’ll use myself as an example. I enjoyed the “social” aspect of smoking – taking a break at work with others and going and having a smoke. Smoking gave me something to “do” – I liked the hand to mouth, the inhale and exhale.

I liked having my cigarettes to lean on, my “crutch” when I was sad, stressed, or emotional. I think the reason I failed at things like the patch is that even if it was giving me nicotine, it wasn’t filling my physical, social, and emotional needs that were tied to my smoking. I think that is why vaping was the right “tool” for me. I am now meeting my physical, social, and emotional needs without the harm of lighting tobacco on fire.

In one sentence, what do you want consumers to know?

I want you to know that I believe in you, I care about you, and I support you.

 


Jenny Hoban

#1. What was the primary reason you chose to take a position with Tobacco Harm Reduction For Life?

A: Working with Thr4life is an opportunity to work along side some of the best THR advocates in the nation, to refocus tobacco prevention and harm reduction strategies back on the people who are affected by tobacco the most: the smokers and their families.

#2. What advice can you give to someone who is choosing a product to help them choose to stop smoking?

A: More people have quit smoking by switching to vaping, than by all pharmaceutical cessation therapies combined. I have witnessed first hand, thousands of people transform their lives by making the switch, after having failed with all other products on the market. Vaping has proven to be the most effective pathway to becoming smoke-free, but at the end of the day, folks just need to do what works best for them. And whichever avenue that may be, we are here for support, encouragement, and education.

#3. In one sentence, what do you want consumers to know?

A: Only YOU are in control of you, and capable of anything you set your intentions on; don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

 


Kevin Crowley

What was the primary reason you chose to take a position with Tobacco Harm Reduction 4 Life?
 
To make a difference. I am a consumer. I am familiar with and respect the other board members. I understand their passion. I appreciate involving myself with others who have a common objective of helping the consumer without them feeling shamed or obligated. Consumers should be educated – far better than the government allows, to make an informed choice about less harmful products from a consumer perspective.
What advice can you give to someone who is choosing a product to help them choose to stop smoking?
 
Ask questions about the side effects and success rates of any product. Don’t walk into a grocery store presuming they will work. Never assume the person telling you is knowledgable with the product they are referring you with. What may work for one person might not work as well for another.
 
In one sentence, what do you want consumers to know?
 

Government and those in the care and custody of “public health” are lying, to their advantage, of both the effectiveness and ineffectiveness of available products.


David Goerlitz

What was the primary reason you chose to take a position with Tobacco Harm Reduction 4 Life?

The primary reason I joined tobacco harm reduction for life was because we are peers. We are compatible in that we all basically want the same thing and our core missions or similar. No lawyers, shoes, and hidden agendas that I see with other groups and organizations. Best hope for new and innovative strategies without the political crap.

What advice can you give to someone who is choosing a product to help them choose to stop smoking?

If smokers longing to quit and finally reached that transitional point to seek out what best will work for him or her the majority will already know that traditional methods do not work. We have already witnessed 9 million smokers transition to a 95% safer alternative and for the most part successfully. It really is quite that simple and not that profound.

In one sentence, what do you want consumers to know?

Consumers need to know that Vaping Is Not Smoking and they have everything to gain.

Trying to quit smoking? Patches, gums and “experts” are useless – without counseling you.

Have you tried the patch or gum? Did you ask about the success rates when you did? Of course you didn’t. Did you have great expectations? Excellent. That’s what I experts want to hear.

If you’re afraid of trying e-cigarettes, I’m even more enthused. If you didn’t plan correctly, you’re up ten points over the others!

Let us move on quickly before you realize this is futile.


Are patches and gums useless?

Well…. of course not, unless you use them without “counseling“!

That’s also what tobacco companies wanted to hear as they welcomed you back. Also, there’s the public health “expert” sector trying to guilt and shame you, and they miss you as well.

Hang on. Steady yourself. The pharmaceutical companies – you forgot about them, didn’t you? I’ll keep the government out of this blog for time & space.


Did you plan for success?

Of course not. They know better than that.

Feeling a bit dizzy? Outstanding. It’s not your nicotine, you know –  or lack of nicotine intake making you feel that way. It’s them. Public health and organizations make you feel like insinuate you could succeed in your journey to not smoking. Then, of course, you fail.

Yep. Shame on you, too. You didn’t try hard enough! You didn’t plan!!!

Your failure? That’s what they’re counting on. It’s just around the corner.

So are your favorite cigarettes.

Still didn’t plan for success?

Go on, now… make a commitment, set a date, get your choice of snake oil patches, gums or prescription medication – and once you didn’t, couldn’t or… well – failure is just a part of the process.

Don’t give up. PLAN!!!! Try again! Keep trying! Sure, the patch & gum have about a 7 % success rate, but – what do you care?

Why plan ahead? That would be silly. Half the time they give these ineffective methods away for free!!!


You will be held accountable.

You get ready, (nowadays, don’t forget your quit app so your friends can get in on the guilt giving sessons as well!)

Your favorite cigarette brand is waiting, your ash trays want to be dirty again.


Folks, this is 2017. Don’t you think by now there’d be a better way?

Smoke. Try to quit. Get “quit smoking aids”. Try. Fall short. Feel guilty and let them pretend to console you, but smoke again. Keep spending your money.

Nice businesses if you find the work in tobacco, public health or the pharmaceutical sectors, eh? Lack of success is their success.

Quit Attempts:

Attempts is what public health and the pharmaceuticals like. The more the merrier. Repeat business is key.

Staying in business with any sense of relevance or truth, is hard.

Helping Smokers Quit

Imagine a business you can operate at full capacity by providing a valuable product and “service” to millions of customers with no restraint on inventory, no liability and carry a “non” or “not for profit” status.

Imagine a business with no worries about profit or loss – and the money keeps coming in. As a bonus, you can carry this on for more than 50 years and brag about it.


Imagine a business that is funded by those you are trying supposed to help. Imagine if your business could get away with shaming your customers for failing with your product or service.

You could offer ineffective tips keeping your status as a caring and upstanding business in the community. Wouldn’t that be fun?


Keep trying!

Don’t give up!

We’re here to help!

Imagine calling a trained expert THIRTY times.

Supply & Demand

Imagine how failure on the customers part  creates opportunity for more business. Promoting almost useless products you don’t pay for is not only fun, but keeps you, and the supplier in business. They’ll keep coming back. You know the failure rate is 93%, and knowing why is not your concern.

Use the term “cessation” a lot because it sounds soothing. In contrast, I suggest focusing on something with at least three syllables so it is ominous and scary sounding – like nicotine – because it sounds evil.

Remember, you have no accountability or responsibility for success in the eye of the public. You just have to look like you’re trying.

  • Be realistic. Don’t talk about of tobacco control out of church.
  • As much as possible, try to influence policy as much as you can.
  • In fact, success would be detrimental to your survival, always elude to an exit strategy.

Keep Success To A Minimum

Imagine your success. Stay focused. Your success is paramount, not your customers. Customer success is of no concern. In fact, it’s widely acceptable to shame customers and convince them that their failure is not your responsiblity. Play on their desperation, not satisfaction. Ultimately, hold your customers accountable. Confuse and bewilder them. That’s the plan.

Feign support, but encourage. Make it perfectly clear that the customer is the problem, not your business. Convince them to keep trying.

Passive-Aggressive Is Best

Imagine your staying power. Make it clear that they are the problem, not your business. Place the failure on the consumer, and promote your business as if it has helped millions, helping you. Failure is not only acceptable, it is expected. Join other businesses like you to keep momentum.


Don’t Give Up

Imagine if smokers could succeed. Ignore and damn any methods that work, despite the evidence, as it would be detrimental to your survival. In fact, only support any other method if they are taxed, regulated and funded in such a way that will only contribute to your success.

Leave your ineffective products and services alone. At any cost including lies, use children (because who doesn’t like to Think About The Children™).

Convince the public via mass marketing that it is ultimately safer to keep smoking than to risk using any product not approved by you, or your affiliates.

Always seem concerned or challenged by any less harmful alternative.


Reminder

Remember, you must restrain yourself. Never, under any circumstances, talk about any effective alternatives that may risk your reputation or your business. Ever.

Doctors tell smokers: Switch to e-cigs

With more than 560 physicians surveyed, over 70% “indicated that e-cigs can help patients reduce or eliminate smoking” and “almost half believe they can reduce risk” according to a new survey by Andrew Nickels, M.D. called “Majority of US doctors discussing electronic cigarettes with their patients”.

Patients in the United States have been inundated with bias information and opinions by health officials with false or manipulated data. Physicians MUST take an active role to understand the difference between combustible tobacco and e-cigs to advise their patients correctly.


This is not the first survey to ask professionals what they thought about vaping products. Participation was significantly lower in a survey I conducted with 84 professionals – but the consensus was very similar.

  • 85% said they are safer than combustible cigarettes.
  • 77% will tell patients an e-cigarette is an option.
  • 63% would definitely recommend e-cigarettes
  • 17% are cautious
  • 6% would never recommend e-cigarettes.

Fail, Fail Again: The stop smoking motto:

Organizations that are representing themselves as “stop smoking” services all say the same thing. “Keep trying“.

Physicians are well aware of failure rates as high as 93% with nicotine patch and gums, and multiple risks are involved for patients with prescriptions like the once “black-boxed” (now irresponsibly removed) Chantix and other medications.

Now it seems they are listening to successes of some patients and passing on the knowledge they gain, “anecdotal” or not, to others.


Success isn’t hard to find

Success is glaringly obvious in surveys of vapers where “79% had completely quit smoking cigarettes” (here)  and 42% stopped in one day – 75% stopped within a month  here.


What about addiction to nicotine?

All health organizations falsely portray “nicotine” as “addictive”, a worn out and common “misdiagnosis” from folks who should know better, and is rarely questioned.

Pharmaceutical companies certainly are an ambitious lot – they created the “nicotine is addictive” myth out of thin air along with anti-smoking zealots to sell products. Stanton Glantz supports the pharmaceutical companies and makes things up as he goes along, and gets paid to do so.

Without tobacco and the accompanying MAOI’s and ingredients added to cigarettes, nicotine itself is not addictive, in humans, without it.

If the data contradict the theory, throw out the data

Public health organizations and government sing the same song:

The global public health establishment now dances to the tunes the pharmaceuticals play:
  1. Increase tobacco taxes to make the price of the pharmaceutical products more competitive with tobacco products.
  2. Demonize the tobacco industry and prohibit the advertising of their products.
  3. Enact smoking bans to force smokers either to attempt to give up smoking using the pharmaceuticals’ products or to use “nicotine replacement” products as substitutes for when they cannot smoke.
  4. Promote smoking cessation and “treatment” for nicotine addiction.
  5. Promote full coverage for treatment of nicotine addiction by public and private health insurers.
All these strategies are guaranteed to increase the pharmaceuticals’ profits.

At this point, professionals in the U.S. who claim they “do not know enough” or don’t know the “long term effects” are unacceptable and unprofessional.

What are implications to withholding information from those who need it?

There’s no reason to ignore e-cigarettes, or less harm, to patients (or the public). When science and facts are ignored, people will still take advice to use the patch, gum and other “traditional” methods. When those methods fail, they will still use combustible tobacco. They will continue to smoke – because facts about e-cigarettes were ignored.

Final thoughts

The potential to reduce combustible tobacco with the use of e-cigs is being fought for, and against, and is here to stay.

The public must have the opportunity to choose a less harmful product with much lower risk and obvious benefit and hear professional views derived from research and science. They are confronting their doctors. They are trying to gain insight from who they trust.

While attitudes abroad look at research and less risk, health “organizations” in the U.S.A. are still insisting they don’t know enough. This has to stop.

America: Settling for less to reduce smoking.

If you’re an American looking to reduce smoking, stop settling for less. Quickly step away from the paid advertisements from the pharmaceutical companies to fund the rigorous and glorified “fight” against tobacco by your friendly neighborhood cessation counselors.

Stop settling for less. Stop dialing quit lines, delete your “free” app. Stop paying attention  to a well organized bunch of morons.

Forget everything you’ve heard, learned and been told to ~swallow~ by anyone in authority. Stop feeding into their substandard propaganda.


The general public doesn’t seem to understand the battle waged by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), various public health organizations and other distinguished experts in anti-tobacco and tobacco control.


“They” evidently, don’t understand it themselves. They LOVE fake news.

They’re playing a game.

With your lives.


Don’t let them fool you, “They” do completely understand. If less tobacco use were the ONLY goal, they’d be pounding vaping products through brick walls to get people to stop smoking.

If they had balls, they’d be standing up and screaming at the idiots who are saying e-cigarettes are the same as smoking. They’re so busy fighting the tobacco companies – they forgot how to interact with real human beings.

They’re busy worrying about funding for their organizations. They’re too busy keeping tobacco in the forefront instead of letting it die a slow sun-baked death in the field by itself. Without a lot of work.

Wait, then they’d be out of work. “They” have become common criminals.

“They” have no incentive (funding, income, research grants etc.) to reduce tobacco, so they lie about things like nicotine. Formaldehyde. Popcorn Lung. They sit idly by and watch, make things up, and refuse to speak. They use fairy tales about children.

All the while, you’re still contemplating your decision to reduce or eliminate tobacco from your life, while they claim expertise.


They only know how to control. Yet, they’re out of control. They want you to believe the ineffective methods are the only way to reduce or eliminate tobacco –  for you, and – if you combine that with counseling, you’re sure to be one of the approximately 3-7% who succeed. If not, you haven’t been trying hard enough.

Why are you settling for less? Because “they” say so?

E-cig tips for smokers who want to switch

E-cigarettes were invented, & are continuously being improved, by companies that don’t sell cigarettes.

Although big tobacco companies now own or produce several types of basic e-cigarettes, the e-cigarettes sold by non-tobacco companies are far more satisfying and come in many delicious flavors.

Both Public Health England and the Royal College of Physicians have recommended that e-cigarettes be widely promoted to smokers – they estimate that e-cigarettes are at most 5% as dangerous as smoking.

The majority of the health benefits offered by e-cigarettes come down to the fact that e-cigarettes deliver nicotine in a vapor rather than as smoke. It is the smoke that makes smoking most harmful, like heavy smog or smoke from a house fire, tobacco smoke contains at least 60 carcinogenic chemicals. While carcinogens have been detected in some e-cigarette flavorings, it is typically at levels hundreds of times lower than in tobacco smoke.

There is no evidence that nicotine in low doses is dangerous, nor is there evidence that nicotine by itself (when not ingested as part of a combusted product like a cigarette) is carcinogenic. In fact, nicotine has been approved for sale to children 12 & older, over the counter, as nicotine patches and gum. Further, when separated from the complex mix of chemicals in tobacco smoke, nicotine has not proven nearly as addictive as cigarette smoke. Many people who use e-cigarettes gradually lower their nicotine concentration with no noticeable negative effects, and no cigarette craving.

E-cigarettes have already helped millions of smokers to stop smoking. A lot of their success comes down to the fact that they not only replace the nicotine of conventional cigarettes, but also the ‘action’ of smoking, which many ex-smokers using patches & gum miss and which leads to them relapsing to smoking. E-cigarette use by young smokers has caused smoking among youth to fall at an unprecedented rate.

For sensible advice & guidance when looking into buying an e-cigarette, trust mostly the advice from the following sources:

  • Experienced staff at a dedicated e-cigarette shop, or ‘vape’ shop as we call them. These folks are typically ex-smokers/current vapers themselves.
  • Other vapers who have given up smoking. Vapers commonly love helping other smokers to give up, and love sharing their experience to help them get a satisfying flavor & strength of e-liquid, as well a refillable, adjustable ‘vape pen’ or ‘mod’ to transform that e-liquid into the vapor to be inhaled.

Taking up vaping might seem a little daunting, so it’s helpful to use an experienced person to help you find the combination that works best for you. But once a new vaper has found that ‘sweet combination’ that works for them, it is simply the most enjoyable, easy & effective way to cease smoking.

Nothing is safer than breathing fresh mountain air, but if a smoker cannot give up cigarettes using more conventional methods or therapies, e-cigarettes might just be the thing that allows you to break the smoking habit completely, and permanently.

If the goal is “less harm”, take them to task, ask “them” why this is acceptable to “reduce harm”, yet vaping products are not.

Take this to heart. If vaping products didn’t work, I would NOT tell you they do with a 79% success rate. Question EVERY “authority” placing doubt in your mind, and do not take “because we said so” as an excuse for them to be condescending because of your curiosity,  or allow them to question your integrity.

Question theirs, ask them why they haven’t educated themselves enough to be much more informative, why they would continue to embarrass themselves, and don’t settle for anything less. Hold them to their own “high standards”.

“They”, after all, are a business.

Promoting smoking: death by deception.

Those in any public position making contrived and deceitful statements to manipulate public perception about vaping products are denying smokers proper information, and are contributing to 1,300 deaths every day.

They are promoting smoking.


What they already know

Surely there were other studies, research and clinical trials before this, but imagine if you will, in 2013, when the National Institute of Health (NIH) funded a $3.6 million dollar survey to the Moffitt Cancer Center and the findings showed 79% of 1815 adult vapers had completely quit smoking cigarettes.


Are they helping smokers?

If the NIH funded a study, and found 79% quit, wouldn’t that be a reason to scream to the world? No. Wouldn’t that be seen as potential to reduce or eliminate smoking? WHY didn’t they report that to the American public? They couldn’t think of a headline?

Instead, it got buried.

When I did this survey, in 2014, results from 7,238 participants showed 42% stopped smoking in ONE DAY, 75% switched completely within a month. I did mine to try, in the words of those who’ve done it, to CHANGE public perception. Turns out the 75% on mine was pretty close to the 79% on theirs.

I’ve tried to show the world my results while they buried theirs.

Among other things, why are they also ignoring some of the most respected institutions in the world?

Public Health England and Royal College of Physicians?

By Definition.

Making the general public think vaping products are as bad as tobacco has been imperative. In fact, they found a way to define them as tobacco.

That simple “definition” helps their cause with regulations, restrictions, taxation and bans.

It certainly doesn’t help someone trying to decipher the truth. It certainly doesn’t help the smokers who want the help reasonable choice to make.

Smoker Oppression.

Some smokers try time after time without success to quit. Pressure by society, family, possibly dramatic changes in health are some of the reasons they may want to stop smoking.  Desperation becomes frustration and eventually, some just surrender to the idea they can’t stop smoking… Smokers for life.

Judgement, shame and guilt goes a long way with tobacco control experts. Ordering Telling  Persuading smokers to quit any way they can, and then blaming them for not being able to quit with ineffective methods is not working. Now there is an effective “we didn’t think of it” non-pharmaceutical choice, a consumer product that works, within reach.

The “reverse psychology” must stop. The selfish and self-centered positions must stop.

This makes me think the goal of true tobacco harm reduction, (end game) to many, is just a game. Hiding, denying or manipulation of the fact that vaping products are at least 95% considerably less harmful and using smokers as pawns is a crime.

What will happen? The deaths by deception will continue, and health officials will say “they didn’t listen to us, they kept smoking”.

Since the tobacco harm promotion act has passed, August 8th became National Tobacco Day. There is now control. Once e-cigarettes were “deemed” tobacco, vape shops still able to assist smokers in the post-deeming world CANNOT legally say anything to customers about health benefits. They can’t legally assist them with their products.

Businesses can’t do that anymore.

Perpetuating the lie

Smokers already smoke. They are already aware of the risks of smoking combustible cigarettes according to the government & health professional statistics. When the personal choice to quit comes up, they are repeatedly told nicotine is addictive (it’s not), and are encouraged to use readily available, yet inadequate and ineffective “approved” methods like the patch & gum – containing nicotine.

When I tried the patch (a few times) and the gum, I didn’t research “success rates“, in fact I never thought to research the success rates.


Public Deception.

I could give plenty of examples of opinions of misinterpreted studies, but I think this will explain my “death by deception” to the public BY public health  quite nicely:

Don’t rock the boat. We don’t want to talk about it. When we talk about it, we must all stick together. E-cigarettes are to be downplayed and demonized just like smoking or we will lose tax revenue (government), funding (tobacco control/non-profit agencies / organizations), sales & profits (pharmaceuticals), profits from sickness (healthcare / hospitals / doctors etc.), profits in premiums/surcharges (insurance companies), profits (research/public health).

Clown sightings within the public health circus are quite common, the coverup of tobacco harm reduction is one of the truest forms of “professional courtesy” I’ve seen. It’s like they’ve got a financial incentive to do so.

Smokers relying on illegitimate and vague information piped through the media from the United States government and health “organizations” alluding to what “may” “could” or “might” are being swindled about e-cigarettes.

Nicotine Addiction. Smoking, E-Cigarettes & You.

Nicotine. The integral part of the addiction to smoking. You must have it. It’s determined that your addiction to nicotine is just as hard to break as heroin by experts worldwide. That’s pretty powerful.

You’re an addict. You just can’t seem to get the monkey off your back. You’ve become accustomed to a certain level of this  substance, you can’t function without it.

You’ll continue your quest any way you can, up to and including smoking beyond health issues. Shame on you.

This tactic tobacco control & public health uses saying “nicotine is addictive” has a term called “proof by assertion.” Wikipedia’s definition of proof by assertion is “an informal fallacy in which a proposition is repeatedly re-stated regardless of contradiction.”

Spoiler alert: tobacco is addictive. Nicotine, without additives, has never proven to be addictive on its own, specifically with non-smokers or never-smokers. These assertive claims need to be addressed properly.


You’re not trying hard enough! You’re weak!  You don’t have it in you!

Take a walk. Fly a kite. Do something useful.

Even though I am inhaling way more nicotine now than when I smoked, I’m not concerned about it. Without Integrity. Tobacco Harm Reduction In The U.S.A.

The tug of war on tobacco has gone on since 1964. Lets face it. It’s been almost 52 years since January 11th, 1964.

The Surgeon General at that time, Dr. Luther L. Terry, announced “an astounding conclusion: smoking causes cancer”  in front of  200 reporters behind locked doors. His decision to announce this must have come at some price. Imagine the pressure then, even then.

The Kennedy assassination was fresh in the country’s mind. Conspiracy theories were brewing. The Beatles were on the air invading the airwaves, but not yet on American soil. Ed Sullivan was plotting his next move.

Herbert A Gilbert had already invented the first e-cigarette – almost a year before his patent originally Filed Apr. 17, 1963.


There was no social media – no way to look something up on Google. Look & Life magazines were “Google”.  A gallon of gas was $ .25. My older brother John wasn’t even a gleam in the old mans eye, yet. I eventually came along in 1967…. I’ll put my beads & mop tops away now, and focus on this:

FIFTY-ONE years. To improve? That’s the spirit. What THEY are doing is not working in the United States. What they are doing is lying.

What they are doing is without integrity. They tell you to “keep trying”, call the quitline, you’re not trying hard enough. It may take a few tries, We have products available that are approved.

E-cigarettes are not pharmaceutical. They are not tobacco. They are, however, a viable solution to tobacco use, if the user chooses to do so. To pretend e-cigarettes are bad is a “Professor of Tobacco Control“‘s job? The director of the CDC, Tom Frieden?  Neither of those have a conflict of interest…

I’ll get back to who’s job this is.

Lets look quickly (and sadly) at two men who represent the United States “Health Care” with questionable integrity.


Earlier this year, the CDC’s Director, Tom Frieden made a decision to be cute. He decided it was a good idea -confusing people with ads on television and billboards. He’s tweeted, set off the #CDCTips (Tips From A Former Smoker) with the impression of e-cigarettes being bad because a smoker kept smoking ((while using an e-cigarette)), and sadly lost her lung. Who knows the truth.

He also tweeted and proclaimed youth, children, tobacco products….

The present Surgeon General chose, embarrassingly to say “we don’t know enough” but kids should not use them.

When will the lack of integrity catch up in the United States? HOW and WHEN will they be held accountable?

Public Health England released their evidence update to the WORLD.

Is their report pristine? No.

Is it responsible? Yes.

It gives responsible exposure to the subject. Opens very large doors to smokers. It tells the world there is a viable option, it opens up the world of reducing tobacco in the world responsibly. It creates a solution for the fairy tale goal of tobacco control.


The United States and a select group of idiots worldwide CHOOSE to continue to hide their heads in the sand and pretend it is bad. (Yes, Christoper Snowden brilliantly covered you here – Chapman, McKee, and Glantz, hoping he does Capewell soon).

WHERE is the reaction, agreement or even a contradiction of the PHE report from the CDC & Surgeion General? The U.S. Health Organizations? The Doctors pretending they’re experts? Playing grab-ass with themselves? They don’t have one, they’re trying to hide from it.

The only improvement to tobacco control I’m seeing in the United States is more taxes, restrictions, regulation processes and bans on e-cigarettes. The only thing I’m seeing in the United States is ignoring the PHE report without cause, without question, and with questionable integrity to the public. You’d think, after all, the effort in tobacco control in the United States is just about money not health. You’d think they wanted you to smoke.

The Beatles, like them or not, changed the face of music.

The e-cigarette, like it or not, has already changed the face (or “two-faced” opponents) of tobacco, tobacco control efforts and the world.


The American public is being lied to like the rest of the world. The honesty of Public Health England, and all involved is a step in the right direction. The path to irrelevance is going to be a lonely one, with less support for the true causes you do represent. Few in the United States are taking the initiative to be honest. Many are arrogant, few have integrity.

OVER 7,000 WORLDWIDE participants!


From the beginning this survey was a vision to get a truthful view on vaping from vapers to counter the worldwide negative Public Health, Anti-tobacco (you would think with no combustion/no tobacco, ANTI-tobacco crowds would not be in this list), Departments of Public Health around the world, W.H.O. (World Health Organization), FDA, CDC & other major entities engage the media with, releasing an onslaught of false and misleading statements. Those entities are rarely retracting any disparities that I’ve seen. They trust you trust them, and they use that to their advantage. Bans are happening as well. BANS. With that, they are deterring and preventing people who might want to try or are successfully using this powerful and disruptive technology with those fore-mentioned bans, taxes, regulations and more.


FEW reports have shown the positive sides of vaping and what vapers experience exist, but they are starting to emerge. Science has answers. Truthful answers. Science has already BEEN working on this. Links are at the end of this report. They exist, they just don’t get equal time. WE are here to help change that for you below.

Vaping, as an extremely viable choice to stop smoking as the survey will show below, is changing the world & is changing and saving lives by both reducing and eliminating tobacco from our very lives. Some don’t like that, and they’re doing anything they can to deter this change. We, as vapers, do not know everything. We know what we experience. We know vaping is not smoking. That’s what we’re here to tell you.

Other goals for this survey were to see what other vapers thought, to have an idea of how it works, to see how long it took for them and other questions within the survey/poll that were important for the world to see.


Among other things, it was to create a place to point if there is someone that is contemplating vaping as an alternative to smoking to get some answers. Our answers. Vaping’s view if you will, of what we think. Having them then explain their answer afterwards was also the key! They have done so worldwide.


With a very hopeful original goal of 100,000 as a number as a mark to reach for in total participants, I tweeted as much as this “amateur” survey maker could. The undeniable support from the Twitter & Facebook communities was essential in this, and very appreciated. It could never have gotten to over 7,200 people worldwide without YOU. Fourteen questions were posed, and a comment section was available at the end.


Each section had a place to answer why they chose “other” and a “Please help us understand why you selected this answer” after the question. A few weren’t fond of that, and most left a comment. I’ll post a few from each one below the graphs. In this journey I learned many things.

Question One: How many years did you smoke cigarettes, pipes or cigars?

With 20 or more years experience at the top, 83% of the answers were 20 or more years of experience with tobacco use. With that much combined experience it is simple to see these users / participants are adults. Noted, “40 or more years” for this question: That group is presumably in their 60’s, are not present on the internet to take the survey nearly as much as what is presumed to be younger participants.

With 1+ years at the top, less than one year right behind, the new users accounted for 63.4% of the top answers. The technology is advancing fast, the success rate with vaping is becoming very clear as opposed to other nicotine reduction methods approved by the FDA. Vaping has yet to be approved as a smoking cessation “device”, but certainly in clear survey style, vapers voice their truth of this, and will be covered (in part) with answers from questions 5, 7, 8 & 10 below.

Question Three: What strength nicotine do you use most?

3 The nicotine question, with 68% saying 1-12 mg nicotine strength is what they use. NO nicotine is only 3 percent, while 36mg strength is “0”, comments during the survey discovered higher powered devices (cloud blowers) use very low strength and the higher the nicotine strength relates to a stronger throat hit for the user. (discovered two weeks into the survey, the answer “12-16” was in the choices twice and left alone).

• I started vaping at 18mg but my goal was always to get rid of my addiction to ANYTHING; so I slowly reduced my nicotine level over 2 years until I reached 0mg. I still love vaping but it’s a relief to know I don’t physically need it and that I can put it down at any time.

Then back to 12, then 9, then found a flavor I love (heaven help ’em if they stop making it!) and it only comes in 8, 12, and probably higher. It’s been perfect. I’m sure I could go lower, but I’m not really bothered about the nicotine.

Question Four: Do you smoke and vape?

4 Dual use as it’s commonly referred to in the media and public health arena, participants could choose more than one answer if desired. “Other” answers mostly commented that they never smoked, while “I quit smoking” and “I haven’t smoked cigarettes since I started vaping” were the same answer. Please note, the smoking cigars, pipes, using snus or dip/chew use only made up for 13% still using tobacco once they started vaping. Answers below this graph speak for themselves as vaping is a viable alternative to tobacco.

Question Five: How long did you try vaping before you stopped smoking?

5 Noted is the 2% saying it did not work, powerful evidence from vapers themselves show that ONE DAY is all it took at 42%. This is a very important figure to note. In total, 75% said vaping stopped them from smoking within a MONTH. Trial and error is probably the main reason with this 1 day figure not being higher. This can help a reader conclude that nicotine strength, taste & backups are the key to success with vaping. Later on question 10, we’ll show what doesn’t work.

Question Six: Is vaping in your opinion, a gateway to smoking for anyone?

6 Noted up front, 15 percent said yes. One of the battle cries of many organizations is that vaping is a gateway to smoking. Vapers, who are former smokers with many years experience and should know, say no by 83%. “Other” was a combination of unsure, possibly, maybe and other words & phrases similar and made up 2% of the answer.

• It seems a ludicrous option. I do not know of anyone who transitioned from cigarettes to vaping. YUCK!

• If you’ve tried vaping and you’ve tried a cigarette, there’s just no comparison. I can’t imagine anyone choosing smoking over vaping. Cigarettes are expensive, dangerous (deadly!), smelly, and they make you a social pariah.

• Why would someone want to go from yummy to ash?

• it is possible however very improbable that someone would move on to a more expensive habit that tastes bad and smells so strong . But without ecigs these same people would just go straight to cigarettes. I started smoking when I was 14 and that too was illegal and surly wasn’t influenced by ecig’s.

Question Seven: Health benefits you’ve noticed since vaping?

7 (You can pick more than one if you like). This one, without splitting the percent within the percent-multiple answers, is very clear. “No” benefits is noted at 2% and that 1% said they HAD health issues they believed were from vaping. That people are being listed on medical charts as a non-smoker on their medical charts is very important, because SOME Doctors acknowledge the difference.

I added quite a few of the comments left in this section, it is important that these participants had a voice to their experiences with vaping and are just examples of the last few of the hundreds of comments left on this survey.

The testimonies of participants is very powerful in explaining the way they feel.

• When my roommate quit smoking my asthma (which is exercise induced) was a controlled normal peak flow volume averaging 225 liters per hour at rest, because he was smoking over a pack a day in my presence. When he quit my peak flow volume average increased to 340 liters per hour at rest. When I started vaping my peak flow volume increased again to an average of 455 Liters per hour at rest. I still have asthma, but it’s not exacerbated by being around tobacco smoke every day. All measurements are using a portable peak flow meter, which I use to determine if I’m having an asthma attack and need to medicate. I have not had to use my rescue inhaler at any point since starting vaping other than when I was sick with an upper respiratory infection in which my lungs were infected.

• I had been sick with URIs at least 4 times a year in each of the previous 10 years living with smokers. This last year I’ve only had one cold and it was a sinus infection and not bronchitis as all the others had been. Much better breathing overall. As my asthma is exercise induced I still have asthma, but I can do more even while exercising, than I could when I lived with a smoker instead of a vaper, and when I wasn’t vaping myself.

• I walk a lot at work. I used to get winded very fast. Now I don’t get winded.

Question Eight: What real risk do you believe vaping has on your body?

8 Only 12% think there may be “some”, 11% care and 75% answered less concerned, none and “feel better and don’t care”. These answers come from people with experience with vaping. As with the other questions, some comments are below.

• Absolutely none, and if I catch a cold now, it is by far less all consuming, it does not lead to brochitis and worse, lingering on for weeks. A common cold lasts a few days at most.

• I vape at high power on custard based flavours. As far as I’m aware, diacityl is the only concern I have.

• I’m sure it’s way less dangerous than smoking, but long-term studies are needed and will be done in years to come.

• I feel so much better! My house and my car and I don’t stink! My lungs are clearing up and I have not gained a bunch of weight like I did when I quit before. I’m not coughing and hacking up gunk anymore….

• I just had a surgery and past plus oxygen level stay above 98% and was vaping while was recovering in the hospital

• If studies were published by the vape community, that tested the concentrates used and found that in a real world application specific flavors or the base fluids have a negative impact on your health, and the specific conditions under which they become harmful, I would make an effort to avoid using those products.

Question Nine: Government regulations you would like to see.

9 Obviously 18+ is a concern to the vaping community. Childproof caps and liquid safety as well. 1% said they’d like to see bans like cigarettes. Zero % say they want to see a tax.

• Dangers for me seem to be impurities, battery fires and explosions venting i think vapestore staff should be more careul or provide information to less experienced vapours wishing to jump straight into sub ohming n super subohming without expeience and i think cildproof caps are ridiculous vapers soud know how to store liquid safely and definatly no sales to minors

• Quality control, Age restriction and child safety are what I want to see enforced

• As nicotine is a poison the public should be aware to keep this away from children! We don’t want to glorify it in front of them, we just want to live longer to enjoy them (the children)

• I should clarify that I would have absolutely no objection to minor sale bans or childproof caps either, it’s just that it’s not something I would explicitly “like” to see (as your question is phrased) since I have no children to worry about personally. The one other thing I would say, regarding childproof caps, is that there’s a danger they will give some vapers a false sense of security (they also won’t protect pets). The best idea, in my opinion, is to simply keep all of your gear out of the reach of children and pets – whether you believe it’s safely “confined” or not. I’ve never understood why some people seem to find this so very difficult.

• Based on the impact Government has on every single element that it touches in that Government regulations typically create inflated prices, regulations that are NOT always based in unbiased, informed realism and generally mass confusion with insane lobbying practices from various special interest groups, I see absolutely no good nor beneficial reason why Government should be involved with vaping. The arguments I have heard from soundbites and read in articles quoting members of Congress are so far out of touch with reality that I shudder to think anyone in Government believes they are qualified to make decisions about the vaping industry.

• Well, normally when Goverment regulate something it becomes more expensive and not necessary better. About sales, I think is good 18- can´t get access to products containing nicotine.

• Minimal Invasion. I see No need for Vapors to bear Sin tax due to BT tax losses. Government thievery! Child proof caps okay but then will come regulation on each and every available piece of equipment. Unacceptable to have a hand full of people dictating the lives of millions.

• The government fails to even keep food safe and the FDA has proven itself to be nothing more than a taxpayer supported handmaiden to big pharma and corporate profits for health care. Worse than useless.

• I think the vaping community does a very good job self regulating. I do not buy vaping supplies from an unknown source. I research through internet, people and forums.

• I want nicotine kept away from kids until they are 18 but, by-in-large, I think self regulation has been doing a terrific job. I don’t see a real need for federal regulation but I do think it’s inevitable. In today’s world it’s really unthinkable to have the US government allow any industry to self-regulate.

Question Ten: What other methods did you try that didn’t work to stop smoking before you stopped with vaping?

10 What didn’t work? Well. See the results. The struggle to stop smoking has been around since the adverse effects have been felt. Overwhelmingly, cold turkey was number one in the total answes, but Nicotine Reduction Therapy like the “patch” & gum were included in this survey and were the highest chosen. The most advertised forms of “FDA” approved ways to stop smoking with other products INCLUDING prescription drugs are overwhelmingly ineffective and NOT helping smokers quit like vaping does according to participants.

• I was going crazy with Champix. My wife told me to stop taking them!!!

• All of these methods failed. • I really wanted to give up cigs but felt helpless till vaping

• I never wanted to quit until that day.

• I did once stop smoking after hypnosis. It DID work. I stopped for over a year and felt fine – not fighting cravings, just fine. But after a year I was at a party, had been drinking and had a stupid “Oh, I’ll just have one cigarette” moment and subsequently relapsed. But this was entirely my own stupidity, I was reckless and paid the price.

• I tried hypnosis again with a different practitioner many years later. This time I didn’t stop smoking but afterwards I decided to stop smoking in my flat and either went outside or smoked out of the window. I kept this up for years. I felt that this was a partial success of the hypnosis and I only had one session. At the time I felt that if I could have had more sessions it might well have worked, but I couldn’t afford it. I found hypnosis good overall and wouldn’t discount it as a helpful tool for stopping smoking.

• None of it worked because I didn’t have an alternative that was going to help. Most smokers it’s just the habits of smoking.

• Chantix was awful. It messed with how I felt and caused anxiety. Gum def didn’t work. Patch burned my skin, gave me super weird dreams. Vaping, has had no negative side effects.

• when I originally stopped smoking I successfully used nicotine patches but it was really tough and took months. when I have an issue with my vape or run out of eliquid etc the cravings aren’t nearly as bad as I remember cig cravings to be. I think it would be a lot easier to stop vaping than stop smoking tobacco.

• I vape to enjoy dessert without actually eating dessert therefore I dont take in unwanted calories. And since I started vaping I can laugh without going into a coughing fit my breathing has improved.

• I didn’t try acupuncture but I did try auriculotherapy. Zyban worked the best, but after 18 months quit I started again and was up to a pack-a-day again within three days… as if I’d never quit! None of the other methods I tried worked for more than a few days at most. You have to want to quit SO badly and have some serious willpower and motivation… otherwise, nothing will be effective. Vaping replaces not only the nicotine, but the hand-to-mouth action. That was critical to my success.

Question Eleven: Bonus troll question/comment.

11 This was the “Troll” question. If there were any people against vaping taking this survey, I noticed only a few “odd” answers, and they were not taken out. In total, I’ll give a 1% possibility that a few tobacco / anti-tobacco or public health officials had nothing better to do than take this survey to try to “hurt” the outcome. I did this survey as an amateur, but did put a “little” thought into it.  It is completely noted that “Vaping Doesn’t Work” was chosen by 20 people with this survey, “I still crave cigarettes” was at 1%.

• There were many times if I didn’t have e cigarette, I know I would have picked up a cigarette. It works and is positive life changing way to quit.

• Vaping gives me nicotine and seems to satisfy my oral cravings.

• Vaping works as a smoking cessation product as well as a smoking substitute. How well it works, like any other product, depends on the willingness and determination of the individual.

• I have no desire to try tobacco and would never consider it in the event of having no vaping products available. I have bought stopgap vaping products instead of tobacco when I had problems with equipment. I am getting into rebuildable products in case there is European legislation limiting availability of products. they can’t ban wire and mesh. next step is mixing my own liquids in case they limit what can be sold. I don’t want to buy sealed carts of fixed strength nicotine.

• vaping works if you want it to work. sometimes you start off with the vape pens and it works for awhile and then most people either go back to cigarettes or upgrade to better mods. i tried the pens for awhile and they worked for awhile, then i went back to cigarettes. then i got better mods and quit cigarettes all together

• Unless my government makes it impossible for small businesses to manufacture and sell equipment and e-liquid, I will never go back to smoking. I can breathe, I don’t stink, I don’t feel self-conscious, I don’t feel like I’m doing something wrong, I don’t feel like an outcast, I don’t annoy or disgust people by subjecting them to smoke or the smell that used to hang on me, my clothes, and my car. I could go on and on and on…

• Vaping is the best way to assist in quitting smoking unless cold turkey that’s the best I enjoy vaping

12 The age group each participant said they were in! Noted that 34 people said they were under 18, not condoned.

Most answered why they chose this answer as “because that’s how old I am” or math. 


Question 13: Flavors.

13 Along with children wanting to use e-cigs, flavors is their reason they say these are dangerous. Vapers WANT flavors. Flavors are very important. In the age group above, these people chose flavors at an extremely high rate, showing they want to stay away from the 4% who use tobacco flavor only. Really, it’s getting AWAY from tobacco and it’s taste.

• That vaping is being scape-goated for the money made by Master Settlement Agreement, which is based on questionable science re: secondhand smoke from combustible cigarettes.

• While I DO think there’s plenty of bad studies and anti-vaping propaganda out there, I think the vaping community is totally unwilling to consider the possibilities that there are risks associated with vaping. It’s as if some vapers believe that vaping is akin to some health food. Simply being “better” than smoking (which I believe it is) DOES NOT make it “good” for you – a concept that seems to be lost on many in the vaping community.

• Illogical decisions made/championed by biased/uninformed people. Many institutions I used to trust are now revealed as manipulative self-interested and disingenuous about their stated motives.

• Local and state governments have stated loss of tax revenues as one of their biggest (I’d bet THE biggest) reason they want to control or outright ban e-cigarettes. Pharmaceutical companies want the same because their ineffective quit smoking aids won’t be needed and their expensive medications that treat all the ailments caused by smoking won’t be needed. Tobacco companies want the same restrictions on e-cigs and on cigarettes – i.e., taxes, no flavors – because they’re already losing money to vapers.

• Unrealistic studies are scaring new vapers and discouraging smokers from trying vaping to stop smoking. Scare tactics started by tobacco companies who are losing a fortune by losing smokers. I would stop vaping altogether before I bought cigalikes made by tobacco companies who have lied to people for decades.

• The media is suddenly releasing tons of information to the general public with bunk reports about the chemicals involved in vaping. They are not giving full facts that e-cigs and vaping are two totally different things. Nor are they releasing all the facts related to their studies, such as the “gross amounts of formaldehyde” that is released being from a dry hit at a temperature that none of us would use for way longer than the button would even stay on!

• I used to read that smoking cost the NHS too much. Now surely that has to be a good thing, unless they lied and don’t want to lose the revenue on smoking.

• I don’t have a problem with real regulations and even taxation if it helps provide solid science in understanding the long term health impacts and limiting unsafe ingredients (popcorn lung from diacetyl, for example)

• Those are the main issues that concern me.

• I think that if the government or pharmaceutical controlled vaping they would completely do away with it. I think that other smokers should have the choice to switch to vaping to try and stop smoking telling them lies is just a bunch of scare tactics that would not help save lives.

• For once I have some control over this addiction to cigarettes for the first time since I was 10 years old. At 37 I do not appreciate the Government attempting to intervene in the name of safety, health or any other reason when I believe in my heart Government is only acting on behalf of the people who stand to lose money if vaping replaces smoking and medical smoking cessation products (pharmaceutical companies and big tobacco). I believe the public is being lied to and over-medicated. Government can spend my tax money on far better things than regulating yet another industry. The disinfo surrounding vaping is scary, and even more frightening is how fast this disinfo was put out to the media, spread to the four corners of the country and picked up by the most absorbent of the easily-swayed population. New regulations are more and more looking like another way for Government to legislate morality and keep the money machine working in favor of the giant corporations. It makes me so very sad and angry.

• I tried patches, gum, chantix, we’ll but in & cold turkey. Nothing made me quit smoking until I discovered vaping. I feel so much healthier l. I don’t cough anymore or cough up nasty phlegm. I don’t get short of breath. I feel like I can breath. I smell and taste so much better. Best of all, I don’t stunk like an ashtray anymore. Vaping saved my life!

The vapers.org.uk organization was instrumental in going worldwide. They introduced the survey to their audience. I don’t remember how it came across my eye, but I saw they had it on their site, and this is the post, and my response Posted on 27th December 2014 by Alan Beard (Thank you, Alan!)

Here was what I posted and they published: My letter to Vapers.org.uk


With the UK promoting it, (thank you!) the introduction to EVUN was next: EVUN – European Vapers United Network, who inspired me to add the translator.

That brought real worldwide participation from 72 countries. Hazel Mamamia, ( Thank you, Hazel! ) for inspiring that and ME!!!


In a few comments, there was the word “anecdotal”. Others had mentioned that it was “biased”. Well, yes, yes it was. Quickly, an article came streaming across my eye and gave me more hope! (Thank you, Norbert!) Beneficial Bias


Finally, again, Twitter & Facebook were the ultimate two pushing from individuals to forums, groups, pages and much more than I’m probably ever going to find or be aware of.

The truest form of positive interaction in vaping is sharing information. Continue to do that within your networks of fellow vapers! We should all be very proud of these results.
