The FDA can’t prove nicotine addiction or gateways exist.

fraud

Is the Food and Drug Administration exempt from providing proof of the decision to classify and change the definition of nicotine as a tobacco product?

Aside from the government putting out fraudulent research, massive propaganda and the plain old “we aren’t listening” – or “we heard you and don’t care” stances, the deeming regulations of e-cigarettes rest, without being questioned, on the government’s word.

Stern and believable soundbites like “we’ve looked at the data” and “redoubling efforts” (what the hell is that?) and “guided by evidence” with other fun catch phrases are tossed around profitably, like cigarette butts.

Well, I don’t trust them or their word.

Meanwhile, as defined, states are getting away with taxing e-liquid and components as tobacco.

Is there a reason the following three things aren’t being focused on by organizations in the United States?

Maybe it doesn’t matter.

I’ll get to my points.

There are three things

In my best estimation, any decisions made by the Food and Drug Administration cannot be determined by fraudulent research or simple and contrived assertions.

These three things are what the FDA needs to validate for the “deeming” regulations to be valid.

  1. The definition of nicotine as tobacco
  2. Nicotine addiction without tobacco and MAOI’s
  3. Gateways

 nicotine thingiverse

1. The definition of nicotine as tobacco

They had to change the definition of nicotine. Why is that?

Nicotine is not tobacco.

Nicotine is .06% to 3% dry weight of tobacco. (Source)

I’m no chemist, and certainly no mathmatician, so I’ll go with what I’ve got:

Tobacco contains a much higher percentage of:

  1. “Malic acid” at 2.83 %
  2. “Calcium as CaO” at 2.22%
  3. “Potassium as K20” is at 2.47

“Reducing sugars as dextrose” is astronomically higher at 22.09%.

Why are those chemicals not deemed “tobacco” or considered addictive?

Have you ever seen milk squirt out from raw hamburger or steak?

  • Milk isn’t defined as beef.

Have you ever got a splinter with your pancakes?

  • Syrup isn’t defined as wood.

You’ve never found any flowers in your beer?

  • Alcohol isn’t defined as hops or barley.

Public health and government are not honest.

Nicotine isn’t tobacco.

 censored

2. Nicotine addiction without tobacco and MAOI’s.

Of the “thousands” of chemicals, nicotine is the addictive ingredient?

There is no data or science worth reading showing nicotine addiction without tobacco and MAOI’s.

Let them force them to find it in their secret files and produce it.

I’ve asked for them from various “experts” and government and body parts organizations.

Nicotine is not addictive.

gate

3. Gateways

They don’t exist. Among other places, it is

Shown here:

Gateway Effects: Why the Cited Evidence Does Not Support Their Existence for Low-Risk Tobacco Products (and What Evidence Would)

Shown here:

Gateway effects and electronic cigarettes.

Oh, it’s shown here:

Complicated Models Can’t Alter the Data: Smoking Among Youth and Young Adults Is Way Down

Just stop.

There is NO gateway.

Proof By Assertion

Can the FDA prove these three assertions? You know, like in a court of law?

Is proof by assertion all the government needs to claim nicotine is addictive? That gateways exist? That, without science and real data, allows them to classify nicotine as tobacco?

Nobody’s caught on to that yet? Why?

fingers in ears

Doesn’t this scare you?

  • Really? Just me? (Pretend my arms are flailing around)
  • Has anyone challenged these points? (Pretend my voice went up)
  • Did anyone ASK them for proof? (Pretend I’m red faced)
  • Does it prove addiction or gateways? (Pretend I’m screaming)

All parties involved are well aware of the deception. This isn’t about health. This isn’t about “the children™”.

Regulations boil down to one thing. Revenue. Fiscal health. Cash.

“Rationale”

Listing “disclosures”, the National Cancer Institute, State and Community Tobacco Control Initiative, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Office on Smoking and Health and of course the American Cancer Society and Cancer Action Network were involved with this:

“Rationale for ENDS Taxation”
• Improve Public Health
• Encourage switching from combusted to potentially less harmful products
• Prevent youth initiation
Raise Revenue

Alan Beard

Alan had this to say about industry in the U.K.:

“as a consumer directly influenced by their current and future viability these thoughts are directed towards them.”

Challenges for Vendors and Desirability of Compulsory Membership of a Trade Association

I mentioned the organizations at the beginning of this blog. With that, I’m including legitimate vendors and brick & mortar businesses in that realm of “organizations”.

I’m also talking about the fly-by-count-my-money-at-night vendors who are doing less than nothing for anyone but themselves.

Whether it be industry or consumer organizations who are well established, I am asking: Are these three points above a waste of time?

How will doing nothing (or any other inaction) impact consumers?

Why are consumers having to settle for less?

Are my questions “too little, too late”?

These are the things that keep me up at night.

Added 8/22/17

Elaine Keller, well respected by me, had this to say on my post of this blog on Facebook:

“In my personal opinion, the problem lies within the law itself, not some arbitrary decision on the part of the FDA”

Nicotine has been defined as “tobacco” is defined in the “Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Act”. It, among other things:

Defines a tobacco product as any product made or derived from tobacco that is intended for human consumption.

That’s here in:

H.R.1256 – Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act

That needs to be changed. Immediately.

For you who are fighting at the industry level, and I do know who you are, thank you.

For you who aren’t fighting, I know who you some of you are – I’m a couple times behind on telling both the government, and you, to kiss my ass.

Nicotine Is Not Addictive.

no evidence

Nicotine is NOT addictive.

The world has been manipulated into believing that nicotine itself is addictive. It isn’t.

Decades of the assertion of nicotine addiction is wrong. Millions of smokers have been lied to. Millions have believed the addictive property in cigarettes is nicotine alone by default or design.

MILLIONS have tried to “quit or die” with “approved” methods.

The assertion of nicotine “addiction” by “public health” is profitable and absurd.

Where IS the PROOF?

Is there proof of the global claim of addiction to nicotine without tobacco?

I decided to challenge that.

Nicotine Addiction: An Open 30-Day Public Health Challenge.

No one was able to produce any overwhelming evidence of addiction to nicotine without tobacco or MAOI’s.

They didn’t prove themselves right.

It also raised funds with a net total of $560.06 for ecigarette-research.org.

How Can That Be?

Hearing it for nearly three decades, the generation under 50 assumes this claim is true.

Because you’ve been led to believe force-fed information.

Propaganda.

“Tobacco and nicotine are addictive like alcohol, cocaine, and heroin.”

nicotine

Wikipedia has a link describing nicotine (in and with tobacco) as

“Nicotine is highly addictive.”

It also states “Nicotine constitutes approximately 0.6–3.0% of the dry weight of tobacco”

“This stimulant effect is a contributing factor to the addictive properties of tobacco smoking.”

Tobacco with all the other chemicals may be “addictive”, but nicotine itself is not.

Do you really believe “.06% up to 3%” is the addictive part with all the other chemicals?

This is a list of what the FDA determines to be the “other chemicals and additives” (or what they consider the “Established List”) in cigarettes.

Are there other chemicals that cause addiction in tobacco?
MAIO’s?

Are There Other Chemicals That May Contribute to Tobacco Addiction?

Here is the “Fagerström Nicotine Dependence Scale”

Answer the questions honestly as a smoker if you smoke or answer the questions honestly now as a “vaper” (or both).  It’ll take one minute to get your answer:

Fagerström Nicotine Dependence Scale

Why would there be “manipulation of nicotine” if it “is” the addictive property in cigarettes:

The SECRET and SOUL of Marlboro

One, with half a brain might think all those additives in tobacco could be the reason for “addiction”. Well – evidently not. It must be the nicotine.

nicotine junkie 1.jpg

A Nicotine Lie Is Born

In 1988, the Surgeon General released this report setting the phrase “nicotine addiction” into anti-smoking and eventually what has become “tobacco control” folklore.

By design, the anti-smoking establishment took a deep manipulative smoke-free breath in unison – and went, yeah, nicotine addiction. We can use that.

Contrived? Absolutely.

Created false nicotine theory
to manipulate smokers
into thinking they are addicted

Surgeon General's report 1988, The two other anti-tobacco experts, Neal Benowitz and Jack Henningfield were the jointly responsible scientific editors of the 639-page official Surgeon General’s Report: “Nicotine Addiction” in 1988.

According to the court documents the two experts both had solid economic cooperation on smoking cessation products with many pharmaceutical companies since the 1980s – Neal Benowitz as a professional consultant for several pharmaceutical companies that produce smoking cessation products, while Jack Henningfield earned most of his income from his own business companies which have had long-standing partnerships with Glaxo and Pfizer.

That above is here:

Anti-smoking experts paid by Big Pharma

“Lying about “nicotine” addiction becomes addictive like alcohol, cocaine, and heroin.”

They Couldn’t Wait To Help

blame

Smoking bans, laws and (bookmark alert) —> anti-smoking groups went berzerk. Patches, gums, etc. were set and soon “in place” to “help” smokers.

Public health, anti-smoking groups now tobacco control “groups” have (used) gotten away with stating nicotine addiction for DECADES, never separating tobacco or all the additives in the manufacturing process (MAOI’s) with a simple proof by assertion, the whole world “believes” very quickly, that nicotine itself, is addictive. Government goes along for the ride.

Please, Keep Smoking

When you wanted to stop smoking, you had it set in your mind via the brainwashing you’ve had most or all your life. Patch. Gum. Approved methods. You take the word of experts who should know better, run to the local drug store or supermart and load up on essentially useless products.

The world of anti-tobacco, pharmaceuticals and government, by design deception, have manipulated public opinion.

Remember above?

“Tobacco and nicotine are addictive like alcohol, cocaine, and heroin.”

Proof by assertion:

Proof by assertion, sometimes informally referred to as proof by repeated assertion, is an informal fallacy in which a proposition is repeatedly restated regardless of contradiction. Sometimes, this may be repeated until challenges dry up, at which point it is asserted as fact due to its not being contradicted (argumentum ad nauseam).

There are stats to show how well poorly the patch and gum are helping folks stop smoking at a whopping 93% failure rate here.

Profits from nicotine replacement “therapies” are addictive like alcohol, cocaine, and heroin.

An Addiction To Revenue

Nicotine gum was around in 1967, but commercially available in 1978.

The nicotine patch came on the market in 1992

The Tobacco Companies Were Right

Shortly thereafter, in 1994, the tobacco companies were put on the spot, in my opinion, to look like villains – to make the public record look as if they were lying, and make the pharmaceutical companies much more profitable.

quitting.JPG

Wouldn’t most or all of us, if “addicted” to nicotine alone, have

  • Smoked more and more cigarettes every day to increase our “nicotine” levels?
  • Continually use higher MG patches going up instead of “stepping down”?
  • Chewed copious amounts of nicotine gum until our cheeks exploded?
  • Become “junkies”, gone on crime sprees and lived on the streets?
  • Seen a huge worldwide black market for nicotine gum & patches?

Willful Manipulation And Deception

“Experts” willfully, with malice, have the answer – and give you what you’re supposedly addicted to, to help you become free from your addiction.

That, my friend, is business 101 charlatanism defined.

I’ll let you ponder that as I keep typing.

The phrase “nicotine addiction” became profitable by the 1990’s.

nicotinewar.JPG

From This:  (Bookmark alert) Big Drugs Nicotine War

“Keeping people smoking by saying replacement “therapies” work is “as addictive as alcohol, cocaine, and heroin”.

An Addiction To Lying

ALWAYS referring to tobacco, never without. An alleged expert in her field.

The more you fail at an addiction you don’t have, the more job security there will be.

An addiction to “funding”:

If “Nicotine IS Addictive”

Here’s an example of an alleged “expert” using misdirection.

nicotine

Then – there’s a contradiction. It either IS addictive or it is not.

There’s no “depends”. It makes “experts” look assertive, but uneducated.

nicotine fail fail

To presume, assume, portray and assert the “fact” that nicotine itself is THE addictive ingredient in tobacco is unsubstantiated, contrived and incorrect.

I’ve asked for proof of addiction to nicotine without tobacco. Repeatedly. Replies were either completely ignored, or amusing to some extent.

Without proof that nicotine itself “IS” addictive, it’s not as easy an answer to – lie about.

I looked. Asked politely, and sometimes not so politely. Then I looked some more.

Facebook. Emails.

Becoming a pain in the ass, I’ve asked “important people”. I’ve asked wannabe’s with PhD’s, top experts on addiction.

nicotine deaths

“Tobacco control – experts – “, T.V. doctors, the Centers for Disease Control, The Food & Drug Administration, the Surgeon General and even asked Pfizer & Johnson & Johnson on Twitter. I wanted anyone to show proof that – without tobacco – nicotine “is” addictive.

I’ve asked the Lung, Heart, Cancer and other organizations like the American Medical Association. You name it, I’ve asked.

nicotine duh

Not one could produce evidence to show addiction without using tobacco or MAOI’s.

They all say use those approved “cessation” methods.

Imagine my surprise.

Multi-Billion Dollar Lies

I asked Mr. Zercher of 22nd Century. According to his Twitter account, he is

“VP BD @_xxiicentury (cig w less nicotine than a tomato? yep), fmr head of #americanspiritcigarettes.”

wrong

He’s done research (funded by the FDA). Surely, with the progress and innovation of creating a cigarette with “less nicotine than a tomato”, he’s done some research. He of all people – he’s got answers.

See, he’s got a cigarette with less nicotine in it. That tells me he’s got evidence that nicotine is the addictive property in tobacco, not the tobacco.

g

I covered his portion of the multi-billion dollar, global industry (that I’m still waiting to prove me wrong) here:

22nd Century

I’m also still waiting for you to find it, Mr. Zercher.

Convincing smokers that nicotine is addictive is a multi-billion dollar global lie.

What I could find

Before the challenge was proposed publicly, I did some homework. Hell, I’ve been doing homework for 3+ years. To really scour the world for addiction to nicotine without tobacco was a task.

Once I published the challenge, I expected to be bombarded with studies, data, science and proof that nicotine, without tobacco – IS addictive. Instead, I was expectedly told to “change the criteria”. Huh.

Why? If it IS addictive – after all these years – where is the data?

With no real assistance or help from the “experts”, I found the following on my own:

This one, with my favorite word “can” and of 18 people, does not show addiction.

WHY IS THIS DISMISSED?

Finally, ignored since 2011, Hanan Frenk and Reuven Dar submitted this to the Harm Reduction Journal:

try again

Final thoughts.

To question this topic has brought understandably varied levels of criticism among peers, and dismissal due to the assertion of addiction by some professionals without separating tobacco from the equation. I was asked repeatedly to change the criteria.

In giving advice on smoking cessation, the perception of being addicted to “nicotine” itself, then suggesting a “step-down method” with nicotine products is a questionable at best.

quit quitting.JPG

Blaming smokers for “not trying hard enough” and telling them it takes many tries is no longer acceptable.

If it were the nicotine itself, not the tobacco, chemicals and maoi’s introduced to enhance tobacco, there would be merit for these products for cessation.

nicotine in print.JPG

“NRT” and cessation devices do not work. Public health and the manufacturers have known this all along and gone along with the illusion. Nicotine Replacement “therapies” are like any other homeopathic or snake oil remedy.

If you are an expert, please – feel free to comment on this blog and prove addiction to nicotine without tobacco.

This is now a perpetual challenge. I’ll wait.

This film received NO funding to make this movie. I’ve already heard from #FreeTeamShit that it is being bootlegged.

There is no reason not to see it and NO excuse to watch it for free.

Son of a bitch, this is LESS than a bottle of e-liquid.

The Director of Scientific Communication with CASAA, Brian Carter, posted this on Twitter yesterday:

PAY for it. You can RENT it for only $3.49 or PURCHASE your copy for $9.95 here:

Vaping and tobacco harm reduction – highlights from England

Speaking of discrimination

Since e-cigarettes and nicotine were deemed a tobacco product on National Tobacco Day, you can be fired, or “not hired” due to tobacco use.

In some cases, adult tobacco users have even been fired from their jobs just because they use tobacco products during their free time, and that’s not right….

…in some workplaces, if you smoke or dip, you won’t get hired.

That’s all here:

No Proof of Nicotine Addiction

Nicotine addiction MUST to be at the top five lies in public health, tobacco control and is, in my consumer-driven view, the largest lie in smoking “cessation”.

I’ve tweeted and posted this challenge to facebook to many useful idiots. Many of you have shared it, and thank you. (I’m still on a mission.)

NOT one public health expert has proven addiction to nicotine in my challenge.

Originally set at 30 days, I have not let it expire. I think they need more time.

*Think of the implications of the claim, and the multi-million dollar industry who is unable to prove me wrong.

Mike above is the VP of a company that believes lowering nicotine in cigarettes is a good idea.

More on that next week. In the meantime, they can still prove themselves right, and you can still donate to e-cigarette research.

WE are raising funds for Dr. Farsalinos & his team.

$605.00 has been raised so far.  To *donate any amount, please go here:

Raising FUNDS for E-Cigarette Research

01

Dr. Farsalinos is well aware of this fundraiser. I’ll make this as brief as I can.

Think back to when you first looked for research on e-cigarettes. You were (and still are) finding glorified journalism and public health websites choosing to tell a fabricated story.

(I’ve covered that here)

At times, you’d find fiction.

In the world of e-cigarette research, one name stands out from the crowd. Dr. Farsalinos.

Dr. Farsalinos is a Cardiologist.

I We are raising money HERE  for Dr. Farsalinos and his team of researchers.

(Nicotine Addiction: An Open 30-Day Public Health Challenge)

Why did I choose his team?

Because I trust him and his team to tell me the truth about what they discover, regardless of what they find. They do this to relay proper and unbias information to the consumer, good or bad. Period.

He is providing us with information.

“Unbiased, reliable – full access” information.

We can’t expect him and his team to do his research for free.

I access and refer to his work constantly. SO do you.

He speaks around the 48-minute mark here:

Global Forum On Nicotine

So, to clarify, this GoFundMe fundraiser is about

  • Raising funds for Dr. Farsalinos and his team at ecigarette-research.org
  • Requesting Public Health, Anti-Tobacco, Tobacco Control and other professionals to provide documentation and prove “addiction to nicotine” with the criteria provided.
  • Proving or disproving the “addiction to nicotine” claim without tobacco or MAOI’s.

Why did I choose nicotine addiction as the subject?

Because powerful people in powerful positions have asserted themselves for decades by saying nicotine is addictive, and it raises awareness.

I painstakingly went through the criteria and sought advice from many I trust before submitting this challenge (and will blog about it about it once it’s over).

What happens to your donation?

If nicotine addiction is proven with the criteria:

Only 5% of the funds collected (minus fees) go to my most detested organization

👉  The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids.

The rest of the funds collected 95%  (minus fees)

If it unproven, unchallenged (expected), ignored or does not meet the criteria,

100% of the funds (minus fees) 👉

Here is why I say nicotine is not addictive:

Along with things like this, this and this  – there’s this:

If the data contradict the theory, throw out the data

Here is what Joe Gitchell said when I asked what he thought about the challenge:

If you want to have lives depending on “expert” opinions and hypothesis with the “we’re in control” offices of Glantz, Chapman, McKee, Malone and Capewell, be my guest.

We need further unbias, objective research without conflict of interest.

Donate, spread this around. Change the world.

I encourage you to tag and post it everywhere you know experts will see it. Make them think. Put them to the test. Ask them questions.

Give them the chance to answer the challenge on my blog.

The goal for this campaign is set at $25,000.00.

Sharing is caring. Go here and thank you in advance.

They still insist nicotine is addictive. Dangerous, even. “They” claim more dangerous than heroin. That’s pretty drastic. Kind of scares me. Fine, dear reader, it doesn’t scare me. It scares the government enough, though, eh?

I’d like to sit down with “they” for a few hours, have some coffee. Discuss a few finer points of life in general, chat a bit, and tell them now they’re trying to convince everyone it’s the nicotine.

I say it’s NOT the nicotine. Stimulant, like coffee I’ll agree with. Drug? Fine.

Addictive? No. I’ve covered that here.

You know that doesn’t matter!

Update: Nicotine is not addictive.

They’re not listening to us. They have tobacco fields to tend to!

The FDA says – and non-committal as it sounds, that it does not “appear to have significant potential for abuse or dependence….. ” (addiction).

nicotineaddiction

So, to make my prediction, since the New England Journal of Medicine released this

Randomized Trial of Reduced-Nicotine Standards for Cigarettes

Aaaand – The National Institute on Drug Abuse released this:

New Study Shows Benefits of Reducing Nicotine in Cigarettes

(Took their time to create and then tweeted this state of the art graphic:)

nicotinereducedcigarettes

Briefly – they mention towards the end of their “official” story:

(This is where the perpetuate their lie) –>Nicotine is responsible for the addictiveness of tobacco, but it is not the ingredient that causes cancer and heart and pulmonary diseases.

Smoking still causes nearly half a million deaths each year in our country. Research now suggests that reducing the nicotine in cigarettes to a fraction of its current levels may be one way to lessen the health-destructive power of these products.

Now, with all that, the media – because they do love a good story, I predict that this:

New ‘low-nicotine’ cigarette could help smokers kick habit

“It is our hope, that because that this is such an intrinsic health concern that we will be able to get this approved in a swift and fast process,” Gellman said.

The company will be working toward FDA approval by the end of 2016……   Huh.

I hate math, but let us do it quickly, shall we? I have a prediction to make!

smoking.JPG

Will lead to this:

Thank you, Jake Jacobson:

People will still smoke. People will try and use these, and someone in the professional health field will still say these are “safer”.

People will believe this is “safer”. Because they said so. Tobacco obviously isn’t the issue.

So, e-cigarettes are not safer? Huh.

Are. You. Stupid?

From 2007, FDA Director Dr. Andrew von Eschenbach had quite a bit to say:

“We could find ourselves in the conundrum of having made a decision about nicotine only to have made the public health radically worse. And that is not the position FDA is in; we approve products that enhance health, not destroy it,” said von Eschenbach, a urologic surgeon and oncologist who was confirmed as FDA commissioner in December.

Later in the article:

“In an hourlong interview with AP reporters and editors, von Eschenbach repeatedly said the FDA doesn’t need more regulatory authority. When asked if the FDA needed more money, he suggested the agency needs to look at “enhancing our efficiencies, maximizing our outputs for the dollar invested on part of the American people.”

Nicotine Addiction. Smoking, E-Cigarettes & You.

slavetonicotine

Nicotine. The integral part of the addiction to smoking. You must have it. It’s determined that your addiction to nicotine is just as hard to break as heroin by experts worldwide. That’s pretty powerful.

You’re an addict. You just can’t seem to get the monkey off your back. You’ve become accustomed to a certain level of this  substance, you can’t function without it.

You’ll continue your quest any way you can, up to and including smoking beyond health issues. Shame on you.

This tactic tobacco control & public health uses saying “nicotine is addictive” has a term called “proof by assertion.” Wikipedia’s definition of proof by assertion is “an informal fallacy in which a proposition is repeatedly re-stated regardless of contradiction.”

Spoiler alert: tobacco is addictive. Nicotine, without additives, has never proven to be addictive on its own, specifically with non-smokers or never-smokers. These assertive claims need to be addressed properly.

You’re not trying hard enough! You’re weak!  You don’t have it in you!

Take a walk. Fly a kite. Do something useful.

TRY AGAIN.

Use these “APPROVED METHODS

It CAN’T be what the FDA determines to be the “other chemicals and additives” (or what they consider the “Established List” in cigarettes!)

Noooo….. not those!

It’s GOT to be THE NICOTINE!

That’s what you’ve been LED to believe.

I should have titled this blog:

Not so fast, experts. You’re incorrect.

Nicotine. Part of the propaganda that governments, health, tobacco control organizations, doctors & other “experts” are accustomed to spewing. They must speak it in order for you to believe it.

They’ve determined – in their infinite wisdom, that nicotine is the only reason you keep smoking.

Nicotine is not addictive

“Were you worried about your nicotine level/intake specifically with your e-cigarette use?

19Here’s just the last 50 comments left, unedited, from that question.

I use nicotine for the throath hit. I have accidentially tried 0mg (because i used a 100W tank and nic just isnt fun in those). I tried it for a few months and i didn’t have any redraw effects. the only thing i missed was the troathfeel so i went back to that amount that gives me the best feel.
Thursday, Oct 8th 5:13PM

I started at 24 mg and then it started feeling “too much” so I went to 18 mg and stayed there for about 2 years. I dropped to 12 mg because I thought I should drop down and it was a hard adjustment but I made it through okay. Now if I use a sub ohm tank I will vape 6 mg, but my all day vape is 12 mg. It works for me and that’s where I’m staying.
Thursday, Oct 8th 11:23AM

i am aiming for 0 nicotine but haven’t managed it yet but im close at 6mg
Thursday, Oct 1st 9:22PM

Nicotine on its own is only slightly addictive, A Smokers addiction is amplified due to the 4000+ chemicals in the Cigarettes. Nicotine has many Medicinal properties and is in most Fruit and Vegetables particularly of the Nightshade family.

Tuesday, Sep 29th 6:40PM

Different mg but a lot more juice. Same nicotine since I started.
Sunday, Sep 27th 4:22PM

I did drop my nicotine levels to 3 mg. It is not out of concern, because I did many days of research on nicotine and I don’t feel it is harmful (in moderation) and I certainly realize it was NOT what I was addicted to when smoking cigarettes. I can go without vaping and have 0 cravings when I don’t have it. I reduced my levels though, from simply wanting to make sure I’m not addicted and chained to it.
Wednesday, Sep 23rd 11:29AM

I don’t plan to drop below 6. I find it helpful for weight control and drinking more water and many other good things.
Wednesday, Sep 23rd 8:02AM

Started at 12 am now at 3 and will eventually be at zero
Sunday, Sep 20th 11:04AM

I use 0 in the evening. The nicotine keeps me awake at night. Never noticed that with cigarettes

Friday, Sep 11th 2:03PM

I don’t think nicotine is particularly harmful in itself, in moderation – at least, no more so than caffeine – but have played with reducing and it has been fairly easy so far. I started at 9 on ego device, dropped to 3 on a mod/dripper, went to 2, to 1, too little, currently at 1.5mg/mL
Friday, Aug 28th 8:26AM

Lower levels of nicotine have been proven to be beneficial to the body, knowing this I am not bothered by my level of intake as it is not an alarming level.
The smoke itself as well as all the other chemicals in cigarettes are the issue.
Sunday, Aug 16th 3:11AM

I have dropped my nicotine levels gradually, but that is purely a decision based on COST (mostly of international postage)! I have no fear that nicotine is bad for me!
Saturday, Aug 15th 7:13AM

I’m not worried about niuc – but I have dropped my levels down. I see no reason to hurry it and am not concerned if I continue with nic forever.
Saturday, Aug 15th 7:13AM

Nic level reduction is automatic, eventually your body tells you it’s time to drop.
Saturday, Aug 8th 7:53AM

If i lower my nic level i will vape more or when i increase the nic level i will vape less. Depending on the time of day or my mood. The same as with smoking. My body will tell me how much i need or want.
Thursday, Aug 6th 10:52AM

Have learned of benefits of nicotine to those of various mental health problems. Since I’m concerned with the decline of the elderly’s mental acuity, I will continue to vape with nicotine.
Thursday, Aug 6th 2:59AM

Not worried about Nicotine, it’s harm profile is about the same as caffeine’s – and I ain’t quitting my coffee either 😛
Tuesday, Aug 4th 7:15AM

I started at 24Mg and am now down to 3-6Mg (juice dependent). I do use an RBA mod though, so my vapour intake is higher.
Tuesday, Aug 4th 3:59AM

Almost on zero but occasionally still use nicotine
Monday, Aug 3rd 4:43PM

I lowered my nicotine to get away from vaping but realized it is a mental addiction and not a physical addiction for me. I was at 0mg nic. for 3 months and quit vaping. once I stopped I started gaining weight from over eating so I went back to vaping. I would rather inhale a caffeine style drug than be obese. which carries it’s own health concerns.
Sunday, Aug 2nd 8:43PM

So far I’m fine with not worrying myself over nicotine intake.
Sunday, Aug 2nd 8:00PM

I see the risk of nicotine as negligible especially compared with smoking.
Sunday, Aug 2nd 12:14PM

My research showed that nicotine delivered without smoke is not hazardous. Nicotine has beneficial effects.
Sunday, Aug 2nd 11:11AM

Nicotine has many health benefits. I don’t feel a particular need to drop it further at this point.
Saturday, Aug 1st 7:59PM

Even though I am inhaling way more nicotine now than when I smoked, I’m not concerned about it. Nicotine is not that harmful of a substance, and the absorbtion through e-cig vapor is much smaller than through smoke. This means that i am actually getting a lot less nicotine than smokers get. Still I’m doing fine, and I don’t need more nicotine. I use 5 mg/ml e-juice about 10 ml per day, which makes 50 mg of nicotine per day.
Saturday, Aug 1st 6:25PM

I do not want to quit nicotine completely, unless it’s determined to NOT help fight off Alzheimer’s.
Saturday, Aug 1st 6:42PM

I’m glad I’ve reduced from 24mg to 10mg. If I stay at 10mg forever I’m OK with that. If I eventually go lower I’m OK with that too. I did try dropping to 5mg and found myself chain vaping so went back up to 10mg.
Saturday, Aug 1st 5:18PM

I never intended to reduce my nicotine intake, but I found that I required less and less over the time to get the same level of satisfaction.
Saturday, Aug 1st 5:08AM

Not really worried about the Nicotine that i inhale but i drop my nicotine levels out of taste and feel reasons (getting better flavor without the “burn” feel) I hope it is understandable what i wanted to tell (English is not my Native Tongue)
Wednesday, Jul 29th 9:50AM

Im just looking for a bit of throat hit!
Tuesday, Jul 28th 3:02PM

I use very minimal amounts to the point where I doubt there is any more risk than inhaling the polluted air outside.
Monday, Jul 27th 3:30AM

I am gradually coming off cigarettes. I’ve gone from 20 a day down to two. I will eventually go onto only e-cigs and cut down my nicotine with that
Sunday, Jul 26th 4:48PM

I wanted to reduce my nicotine level, but not to 0.
Sunday, Jul 26th 3:35AM

I have dropped down a lot, but I do not think I want to completely remove the nicotine because of the flavor and way it makes the ejuice better tasting in my opinion. And really a small amount of nicotine is not harmful, what is harmful is all of the carcinogens and chemicals in cigarettes!
Saturday, Jul 25th 11:24PM

I only dropped because the throat hit started bothering me and the people in the vape store said to lower nicotine. I started at 24, and dropped to 6 over time

I did drop my nicotine levels gradually and I am now at “3 to 6”.
I sometimes use “zero” (or just straight VG – no flavor) and will end up at zero across the board… but there’s no timetable.

I’m reducing my nicotine because
Nicotine may not always be easy to purchase and I’d like to get used to being without before that happens.
Saturday, Jul 25th 8:50PM

I lowered my nicotine level simply out of comfort. Once a level began burning my throat too badly, I moved to the next lower level. I’ve been at 6mg for over 2 years and feel no need to lower it to zero.

Not concerned about nicotine, but the flavor and the experience is much better on a lower amount.

I see no real harm in having nicotine. It’s not a carcinogen

after 50 years of smoking i have accepted the fact that nicotine will always be in my life. By removing the tar and other gunk with vaping, I m doing much better. My medical exams show the difference

My goal is not to reduce my nicotine level, but to reduce vaping to only some circumstances, or possibly only some days of the week. I can’t seem to reach that goal, and this is a concern.

snicotine

Some of you above mentioned throat hit.

If you’re trying e-cigarettes to stop or reduce smoking, the most effective way to do so are using a wide variety of flavors you already like, and the nicotine strength is paramount in your success.

You probably never thought about it while smoking, but think of this – if you used a full flavor, the “lights” just didn’t cut it for you, right?

If you used a “light” cigarette, the “full flavor” was too strong.

There you go.

The nicotine level mimics the throat hit.

You may stop smoking by accident.

This article explains it very well.

A Good Side To Nicotine

Via Bernd Mayer:

“Nicotine may be addictive by causing release of dopamine in the nucleus accumbens, a component of the reward center of the brain that is essentially involved in reinforcing effects which stimulate drug-taking behavior. However, this issue is controversial due to frequent confusion of (well established) tobacco dependence with nicotine dependence.”

That’s here in Nicotine – the basics.

The next time you see or hear “nicotine is dangerous”, they’re technically correct. It can be.

The dose makes the poison.
