Vaping Is Not A Crime

Canada is under extreme opposition. David Goerlitz is scratching punching the surface in this first of a series while visiting Montreal, Quebec.

This is another example of regulate, restrict, tax and ban worldwide. No matter where you are, fight.

Sinner, Keep Sinning

Mr. Puddlecoat probably sprained his fingers typing this one up… Thank you D.P.

Sinner, Keep Sinning – We Need The Cash

Philip Morris Pledges $1 BILLION

I trust tobacco companies more than government or public health. As an example in the UK, THE Fergus Mason’s favorite “authority figure” hag says this in the following article.

“The tobacco industry has a terrible track record of funding research designed to support its efforts to block policies to cut smoking,” Deborah Arnott, chief executive of London-based Action on Smoking and Health, said in a statement. “Tobacco industry claims can never be accepted at face value.”

This. This is fear. Losing power. Loss of control. Out of the loop. “Policies” are in question. The scream test looks nice in print.

I don’t trust public health, with a few exceptions.

I do however, trust Philip Morris (despite self-promotion of their heat not burn, etcetera) and this initiative far more with Yach at the helm.

This is progress, not control.

A Case for Nicotine Use

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. Nicotine is not addictive.

Because it is such an assertive claim and everything is riding on the myth, (Like Santa, you never want to tell the kids) either few professionals “understand”,  choose to understand or will admit it. They instead, are either incompetent or believe it themselves.

Gorokh has a twist I liked:

“…..drawing conclusions about nicotine from smoking studies is like measuring the effects of lemon juice by administering participants rounds of Long Island iced teas!”

That’s here below.

Data Driven Meta-Analysis

The wild, wild west of data driven meta-analysis just isn’t full enough yet – of meta-analysis about e-cigarette use. I’ve decided to go west.

Because data. Yep. I thought it was way overdue. Because data.

Mr. Padilla put out, on social media sites, a box showing a baby with “my first vape” on it.

It of course, spread around Facebook with ease – and on Twitter….

It turns out my new friend Adam at BrandFire has Pfizer (owned by Johnson & Johnson) listed as a client on their “client” page, but doesn’t show any dazzling “work” for Pfizer on “our work” page.

New York City

With the Bloomberg regime off in the distance, the next generation of nannies want to pretend to lower smoking rates in New York City, or profit from those who keep smoking, regardless of the price.

Because of the failure of Bill de Blasio’s city to be fiscally responsible by budgeting what they have,  he’s decided, and includes e-cigarettes… that less people smoking… paying more for public housing… for not smoking… is the plan.

Oh, except New Yorkers being smarter than he is, and of course the black market that doesn’t exist.

Firmly stating “We are sending a loud and clear message that we will not let their greed kill any more New Yorkers without a fight”.

Greed can be misconstrued by “imposing a new 10 percent local tax on tobacco products other than cigarettes” and raising the cost of cigarettes from $10.50 to $13.00 could never be classified as “greed”.

Win/win.

It’s Official: A Pack Of Cigarettes Now Costs $13 In NYC

Tobacco 21

Here’s how their game plan “works” in writing.

Raising The Age Of Purchase For Tobacco Products: Lessons Learned from Tobacco21

Seems the plan isn’t working for compliance, or is it?

In my (highly acclaimed by me) opinion, as the age of purchase was 18, they are having a difficult time keeping their percentage at acceptable levels, and now want to raise it to 21 to recreate the problem.

If they raise the minimum to 21, they create a whole new class and “infringement rate” – and in the process, create more funding to do what “they’ve” already allegedly done.

Job security.

The plan is working to keep “control” relevant as I’ve predicted here and here.

Suddenly, in California, bad laws create bad people and relevance for tobacco control. Now they will “need” more funding to fight “it”.

The rates of “underage sales” failed 50%. They quietly (not to me) created more “problems”…

This is exactly what they planned. More “self-created” problems, more job security to “fight” it.

More proof that “laws” don’t stop “children” (redefined as 18-20 year olds as well) from tobacco use.

Organized Crime Heads Applaud FDA’s Decision To Reduce Nicotine

money-laundering

When Dr. Gottleib, head of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) made the announcement to reduce nicotine and keep tobacco burning, health criminal organizations immediately applauded the plan to continue tobacco use.

Speculation over future profits is keeping some barely contained in their excitement.

Since the announcement to lower nicotine in cigarettes, health organized crime heads have rallied in support in the plan, some calling it a “game changer” between bites of cannolis.

“I’m gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse.”
― Mario Puzo, The Godfather

The goal? Leave the nicotine, keep the tobacco.

That’s the important, and profitable part.

Loan sharks are circling the wagons, they want their money back.

manipulation

The Plan

For this to work, there must be a strong and unbreakable criminal network and respect for the groundwork criminal element already  established between the drug companies and public health, even if was before you were born, and specifically if you don’t understand it.

Everyone must agree that nicotine is addictive and dangerous. Decades of a foundational and profitable lie is at stake for everyone, even when nicotine isn’t addictive without tobacco. No one wants to be embarassed.

People could get hurt.

“There are things that have to be done and you do them and you never talk about them. You don’t try to justify them. They can’t be justified. You just do them. Then you forget it.”
― Mario Puzo, The Godfather

money-laundering 5

Dr. Gottlieb

He himself is a fan of tobacco. Big fan. Smoking promotion is big business when it’s technically illegal for tobacco companies to advertise themselves. The government does it for them.

I can’t imagine he read this opinion piece he linked, it was written by a history professor with writing skill and knowledge of a cat in heat, or at least worse than mine. Among other things, it stated:

“Smokers would be able to start or quit at will, without suffering the robbery of choice that defines addiction.”.

Keeping tobacco and trying to redefine it as nicotine, is a game.

He and fellow criminal, Mitch “Two-Butts” Zeller wrote a long and boring letter and *surprise*, it got published as gospel in the New England Journal of Medicine.

It does sound convincing.

“A nicotine-limiting standard could make cigarettes minimally addictive or nonaddictive, helping current users of combustible cigarettes to quit and allowing most future users to avoid becoming addicted and proceeding to regular use”

The Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids.

Michael Eriksen

As the Former Director – CDC’s Office on Smoking and Health, current Dean and Regents’ Professor, Georgia State School of Public Health and part of Tobacco Atlas, Mr. Eriksen believes “deeming was so important”.

The mis-step in this and other “assessments”, is to reduce the harm caused by tobacco would be, according to all the experts, eliminate the tobacco, not endorse it.

You think he’d know better, but nobody’s paying attention.

As tweets go, Mr. Eriksen can be “non-committed” and just report the tweet as if…and just quoting the story  – failing credibility is of no concern.

UCSF

With a broken cigarette, it’s “intriguing”.

Dr. Tom Frieden

#Skippy, the Former circus act at the Centers for Disease Control director and Former New York Mayor Bloomberg muppet – thinks continued tobacco use could save millions. It’s “important”. He’s trying to pretend he’s a rebel within by the subtle “If it happens”, and the clever hashtag #tobaccokills is almost as adorable as his efforts when he was in charge. Do as you’re told, #Skippy.

“…don’t ever take sides with anyone against the family again. Ever.”

– Michael Corleone, The Godfather

While I don’t agree that “people need to stop smoking” as stated below by the American Council on Science and Health, smoking is a personal adult choice, I am not surprised this is the only group making a bit of sense.

Despite my reservation, ACSH is standing alone as it speaks out against the criminal acts unfolding with what is known as common sense. They even went as far as stating nicotine is “harmless”. Finally, truth.

ACSH is the only one I’ve found so far.

Imagine that…

So far I haven’t seen the Body Parts Orgs™ (© David Goerlitz) say anything.

I’m waiting on the Heart, Lung and Cancer criminals to make their decision as to which way they’ll roll.

What is wrong with this approach?

Well, for starters – they’re promoting what they’re pretending to get everyone away from. So they can make more money.

Smoking and E-cig use among teens is down, again – (Don’t tell Stan)

It’s a long standing whine from inefficient tobacco control “experts”, “those damn kids”.

All set?

Moving on.

The last chart I saw (from 2015) showing tobacco use among middle and high school students is below, and smoking rates at the bottom was going DOWN.

Substantially.

Seems in the chart on the bottom, the significant decrease in cigarettes use… was – well, ignored. Instead, it added in in the “overall useage”of tobacco.

Huh. Seems in the chart at the TOP, it increased. That made progress “No significant change”.

Well, after National Tobacco Day, that chart is accurate according to the arbitrary law.

I believe this grapic was made during the Surgeon General’s propaganda tour when I snipped this, so I apologize in advance on the source.

I’m sure they were made by someone much more important than I am before I put my remarks and drivel all over theirs.

I think the source is somewhere, if you can bear to go, in here.

lie kids rates.JPG

kids

I’d like to believe the children surveyed in the latest findings are telling the truth to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). I’d also like to believe those organizations were truthful in relaying that information to the public. Not sure. You?

Not sure. You? Haven’t seen Puff-N-Stuff metanalyze it yet… for all I know this is cause for children to pick their noses…I’ll move on.

Either way, smoking is down, e-cigarette use (now called tobacco) is down.

  • Down 20% for “any tobacco product”.
  • Down 20% for “any combustible tobacco product”.
  • Down 26% for any “two (dual use) tobacco products”.
  • Down 29% for “e-cigarette use”.
  • Down 33% for “hookah use”.

Imagine taking away e-cigarettes as a choice.

Would any of the other categories have gone down?

I think not.

Between 2013 and 2015, e-cigarette use rose substantially, and then it dropped in 2016…while “experts” were claiming, screaming, yelling and making a general ass of themselves that they are a gateway to smoking. Yeah. About that…  They’ll be making an ass of themselves and taking credit for the lower rates… any minute now.

Stop that – you’re starting to look silly.

Youth Tobacco Use in the U.S.

Meanwhile, the Tobacco 21 crowd gears up and wants to restrict tobacco from 18-20 year olds from having that choice. (E-cigarettes). From Adults.

Now look back up at that chart.

Now look without giggling at this graphic tweet from “well respected” our National Tobacco Control Professor, Stanton “Puff-N-Stuff” Glantz, again. It’s like he’s trying to be convincing and all…

You know you want to.

The FDA can’t prove nicotine addiction or gateways exist.

fraud

Is the Food and Drug Administration exempt from providing proof of the decision to classify and change the definition of nicotine as a tobacco product?

Aside from the government putting out fraudulent research, massive propaganda and the plain old “we aren’t listening” – or “we heard you and don’t care” stances, the deeming regulations of e-cigarettes rest, without being questioned, on the government’s word.

Stern and believable soundbites like “we’ve looked at the data” and “redoubling efforts” (what the hell is that?) and “guided by evidence” with other fun catch phrases are tossed around profitably, like cigarette butts.

Well, I don’t trust them or their word.

Meanwhile, as defined, states are getting away with taxing e-liquid and components as tobacco.

Is there a reason the following three things aren’t being focused on by organizations in the United States?

Maybe it doesn’t matter.

I’ll get to my points.

There are three things

In my best estimation, any decisions made by the Food and Drug Administration cannot be determined by fraudulent research or simple and contrived assertions.

These three things are what the FDA needs to validate for the “deeming” regulations to be valid.

  1. The definition of nicotine as tobacco
  2. Nicotine addiction without tobacco and MAOI’s
  3. Gateways

 nicotine thingiverse

1. The definition of nicotine as tobacco

They had to change the definition of nicotine. Why is that?

Nicotine is not tobacco.

Nicotine is .06% to 3% dry weight of tobacco. (Source)

I’m no chemist, and certainly no mathmatician, so I’ll go with what I’ve got:

Tobacco contains a much higher percentage of:

  1. “Malic acid” at 2.83 %
  2. “Calcium as CaO” at 2.22%
  3. “Potassium as K20” is at 2.47

“Reducing sugars as dextrose” is astronomically higher at 22.09%.

Why are those chemicals not deemed “tobacco” or considered addictive?

Have you ever seen milk squirt out from raw hamburger or steak?

  • Milk isn’t defined as beef.

Have you ever got a splinter with your pancakes?

  • Syrup isn’t defined as wood.

You’ve never found any flowers in your beer?

  • Alcohol isn’t defined as hops or barley.

Public health and government are not honest.

Nicotine isn’t tobacco.

 censored

2. Nicotine addiction without tobacco and MAOI’s.

Of the “thousands” of chemicals, nicotine is the addictive ingredient?

There is no data or science worth reading showing nicotine addiction without tobacco and MAOI’s.

Let them force them to find it in their secret files and produce it.

I’ve asked for them from various “experts” and government and body parts organizations.

Nicotine is not addictive.

gate

3. Gateways

They don’t exist. Among other places, it is

Shown here:

Gateway Effects: Why the Cited Evidence Does Not Support Their Existence for Low-Risk Tobacco Products (and What Evidence Would)

Shown here:

Gateway effects and electronic cigarettes.

Oh, it’s shown here:

Complicated Models Can’t Alter the Data: Smoking Among Youth and Young Adults Is Way Down

Just stop.

There is NO gateway.

Proof By Assertion

Can the FDA prove these three assertions? You know, like in a court of law?

Is proof by assertion all the government needs to claim nicotine is addictive? That gateways exist? That, without science and real data, allows them to classify nicotine as tobacco?

Nobody’s caught on to that yet? Why?

fingers in ears

Doesn’t this scare you?

  • Really? Just me? (Pretend my arms are flailing around)
  • Has anyone challenged these points? (Pretend my voice went up)
  • Did anyone ASK them for proof? (Pretend I’m red faced)
  • Does it prove addiction or gateways? (Pretend I’m screaming)

All parties involved are well aware of the deception. This isn’t about health. This isn’t about “the children™”.

Regulations boil down to one thing. Revenue. Fiscal health. Cash.

“Rationale”

Listing “disclosures”, the National Cancer Institute, State and Community Tobacco Control Initiative, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Office on Smoking and Health and of course the American Cancer Society and Cancer Action Network were involved with this:

“Rationale for ENDS Taxation”
• Improve Public Health

I’m also talking about the fly-by-count-my-money-at-night vendors who are doing less than nothing for anyone but themselves.

Whether it be industry or consumer organizations who are well established, I am asking: Are these three points above a waste of time?

How will doing nothing (or any other inaction) impact consumers?

Why are consumers having to settle for less?

Are my questions “too little, too late”?

These are the things that keep me up at night.

Added 8/22/17

Elaine Keller, well respected by me, had this to say on my post of this blog on Facebook:

“In my personal opinion, the problem lies within the law itself, not some arbitrary decision on the part of the FDA”

Nicotine has been defined as “tobacco” is defined in the “Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Act”. It, among other things:

Defines a tobacco product as any product made or derived from tobacco that is intended for human consumption.

That’s here in:

H.R.1256 – Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act

That needs to be changed. Immediately.

For you who are fighting at the industry level, and I do know who you are, thank you.

For you who aren’t fighting, I know who you some of you are – I’m a couple times behind on telling both the government, and you, to kiss my ass.

FDA & Fear

Fear is the business they’re in.

“The Food and Drug Administration is now on the wrong side of a new anti-vaping campaign. Instead of helping teens reject using tobacco or e-cigarettes, the new FDA plan would end up discouraging people from quitting cigarette smoking — an outcome no one wants.”

A Nicotine-Focused Framework for Public Health

The FDA’s Mitch Zeller & Dr. Scott Gottlieb have been published in the New England Journal of Medicine. It’s not a medical study, it’s a letter.

Gippy & Zippy are claiming nicotine is the center of “addiction” & the contrived FDA funded reduction of nicotine as the possible answer to reduce tobacco use…

(Why are other “chemicals” in tobacco not considered addictive or “tobacco”? *“Nicotine constitutes approximately 0.6–3.0% of the dry weight of tobacco”.)

Here’s the “letter” in full:

A Nicotine-Focused FDA Framework.

Professor Glantz

Here lies Professor Glantz (Puff-N-Stuff) babbling about the tobacco industry knowing things like the patch & gum don’t work – unless there’s the obligatory counseling… or some drivel like that.

I don’t ever recall Nicorette saying you’d need counseling with your patch… but I could be wrong.

If nicotine were “addictive” to begin with… ahhhh, I digress.

What the tobacco companies know about NRT: Without counselling, it keeps people smoking

A Nicotine-Focused FDA Framework.

faces

The FDA’s Mitch Zeller & Dr. Scott Gottlieb have been published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

“A Nicotine-Focused Framework for Public Health”

While claiming nicotine is the center of “addiction” and the reduction of nicotine as the answer to reduce tobacco use… their seemingly contrived objective is in part below:

“The agency’s new tobacco strategy has two primary parts: reducing the addictiveness of combustible cigarettes while recognizing and clarifying the role that potentially less harmful tobacco products could play in improving public health. We must also work toward a greater role for medicinal nicotine and other therapeutic products in helping smokers to quit and remain nonsmokers.”

While I am completely opposed to the framing of the nicotine addiction theory without tobacco, there were two other parts I’m not convinced quite yet that we’re on the right path; bold is my emphasis:

  1. reducing the addictiveness of combustible cigarettes”
  2. “We must also work toward a greater role for medicinal nicotine and other therapeutic products in helping smokers to quit and remain nonsmokers.”
  1. The focus on “nicotine” is, in my eyes, a subliminal way to keep the definition of e-liquid as tobacco, manipulate e-cigarette products as tobacco, and collect unjust & undue tax – on a product that is not addictive without tobacco, and not tobacco.
  2. The teetering on medicinal nicotine & other therapeutic products gives a direct odor of pharmaceutical product and control, something they’ve already had and failed miserably with.

I predicted this In March of 2016:

Keep smoking, we’ll just help you lower your nicotine.

On a positive note

The publication states:

Nicotine, though not benign, is not directly responsible for the tobacco-caused cancer, lung disease, and heart disease that kill hundreds of thousands of Americans each year.

Excellent….and goes on to add

…within a landscape including other, noncombustible products such as e-cigarettes, represents a promising foundation for a comprehensive approach to tobacco harm reduction. In working toward this vision, the FDA is committed to striking an appropriate balance between protecting the public and fostering innovation in less harmful nicotine delivery.

That’s the first positive thing I’ve heard in some time from the government:

Tobacco Harm Reduction.

Then And Now ~ Bullying ~ What Are They Smoking ~ Politics ~ A Billion Lives

Then & Now

The FDA now headed by Scott Gottlieb, M.D. is not only on a “nicotine dangers” kick, they’re funding and promoting it.

Nicotine, as I’ve previously concluded for you, is not addictive without tobacco & MAOI’s.

Now, there’s another NIH article for you to consider on the association of addiction. They know better, they just won’t admit it.

“nicotine concentration was associated, albeit weakly, with dependence among e-cigarette users.”

Then and now: Consumption and dependence in e-cigarette users who formerly smoked cigarettes.

Bullying

Well, tobacco CONtrol isn’t immune.

“Importantly, only one perspective on this issue was presented to us in the trainings. There was no room for disagreement or challenge. These ideas were presented as scientific facts, not subject to debate. In fact, if we were to challenge the ideas, the implication was that we – ourselves – might be accused of working for Big Tobacco or receiving secret payoffs.

The most prominent and dogmatic idea presented to us was that “The debate is over.” There is no room for questioning of the link between secondhand smoke and chronic disease. Anyone who challenges that link or suggests that it is being exaggerated must therefore be a front for the tobacco industry. No reasonable person – acting of their own accord – would challenge this undebatable science.”

Ann, below with Greg Conley of the American Vaping Association at the Milwaukee premier of A Billion Lives, has sadly passed away.

It breaks my heart, as she was one of the first few people I followed early on Twitter (@agentania).

I, and I am sure like others, had oodles of messages and exchanges with her.  Everything from Kitty2 and her view(s) on a variety of topics.

Like a secret agent, Ann did things behind the scenes and wanted no credit.

Her spirit, spunk, snark, fight and her love will never die and is in all of us.

As Shannon relayed for us above, we will

NEVER STOP FIGHTING FOR WHAT’S RIGHT“.

As DrMA says below, in loving memory.

I’ll be blogging on Ann very soon.

I know you’re watching us, Agent.

O_O.

Rest, sweet Ann.
