California Scheming.

announce

This will be brief. This article by Paul Blair brings to light an opinion. A very valid and reasonable opinion. Common sense, in fact, to what I and we as vapers believe and have said all along.

The scheme of children, safety, chemicals and drivel to conjure up support by Mr. & Mrs. Never Smoker to vote / get  in ANY type of tax increase by creating the illusion of dangers of e-cigarettes.

It’s Taxing Thoughts, A Ponzi Scheme for THEM and we’re the scapegoat.

Now, not everyone plays nice. Tactics are direct, swift and I don’t have media on my side, so I tried this a while back. It seems to be truer than I imagined looking back now.

I was trying to counter THEM. How far is too far? I hoped it would create a political stew in my mind. I wrote it like I imagined an internal memo would be written. I’ve written a few in past lives, none quite like this. I am fighting for vaping and smokers very lives, so I just typed it up:

I fooled a few on twitter & facebook with this:

c3

There were secret emails asking where I got it, how I got it…. who I possibly knew…

I am not answering to anyone, I have no ties or conflict of interest.

I am also not in charge nor care of public health for the State of California.

My “PHLIE# memo…” is a sad attempt at satire at best.

What they are doing is CRIMINAL. To take the thought from anyone and convince them with both the #curbit AND the #stillblowingsmoke campaigns IS a criminal act up to and including detrimental health effects on the unknowing, and the ultimate price is death for those who continue to smoke.

These people consciously KNOW better, and are TRUSTED to care for PUBLIC health.

I came clean pretty quickly with my little memo, but what tactics ARE being used against vaping with every Government with money over health every time? Here’s a screen shot of a bit of the highlights from this article:

The wonderful people at M.O.V.E.

work very hard to fight this asinine drivel.

We as the “public” need to be able to hold them accountable.

HOW do we get TO them for covering up truth? I know – it’s “Plausible Deniability“.

How You Vape. Are you a lung or mouth inhaler?

qs

While we assume that most cigarette smokers inhale, is this true of vapers?

Please let us know how YOU vape:

87 people, from 11 countries ! 🙂

This is quietly dedicated to one person. I love intriguing questions. I’m all about learning.
This one, done “undercover” & without any fanfare, didn’t get a lot of responses, but I didn’t “push” it. I didn’t tweet it like crazy. Just a few times and let it go. It was such a great question I decided to use a different style of survey to see if it would find it’s own way to the vaping world.
That experiment failed enormously as far as “how far will it go” which was fine. It seemed there was no real interest once I “put it out” a few times, an answer here, an answer there, so I’ve retired this on its own, but absolutely is intriguing enough to be added to my next survey.

Before we go any further, the lung effects with Bernd Mayer are here and with Dr Farsalinos here.

Also on the survey, “anecdotal”: I can breathe again

The question posed:

While we assume that most cigarette smokers inhale, is this true of vapers? Please let us know how YOU vape:

— I draw vapor into my mouth, and then into my lungs, and then exhale: 54.02%
— I do both:  20.69%

— I draw vapor directly into my lungs and then exhale: 17.24%
— I draw vapor into my mouth, and then exhale without inhaling: 8.05%

I’m in the “I draw vapor into my mouth, and then into my lungs, and then exhale” crowd, thanks for asking.

If you haven’t seen The Vaping Truth Survey Final Analysis, Here it is

If you haven’t seen @vapedupgaming ‘s AWESOME survey results, go SEE them: It was not mine, it was his, here are his results: Nicotine Flavor Survey, Here it is.

I just released this survey. It’s on the blog here:

Health Care Professionals & E-Cigarettes Survey

Or on it’s own without the blog here: Health Care Professionals & E-Cigarettes Survey

Please DON’T take it unless you’re in one of these fields:

Any Medical Professional worldwide is encouraged to take this survey about E-cigarettes. Doctors, Nurses, Researchers, Surgeons, Pharmacists, Specialists, Technicians, Dentists, Assistants,Tobacco Control & Smoking Cessation Experts are encouraged.

I’m not looking for just the people who are in favor, I’m looking for the one’s who are not. Everyone and anyone in those fields. I’ve tweeted directly TO Simon Chapman & Stanton Glantz. They can choose to take it, share it or ignore it just like everyone else. I’m not looking to get “one side”. You’d think I would since I vape…. well, no. I want the truth, just like research. ecigarette-research.org Nothing more, nothing less.

There IS another survey, NOT mine, many have encouraged it including Doctor Konstantinos Farsalinos. (He’s the face of ecigarette-research.org) I took it, the maker has been questioned I believe a few times, and was encouraged by them as well.

Battle Lines & Bruises. I get by with a little help from my friends.

26

I tweet what comes to mind about vaping. For that matter, I blog the same way! I rarely have a plan, Almost off the cuff, I take chances and just go with the flow. Sometimes I jump in head first, sometimes I star a tweet, almost always retweet… sometimes I leave well enough alone.

Sometimes I’ll drag it and beat it and find it again because it pissed me off enough to add two more cents into the barrel of monkeys. I’ll take the lead, I’ll putz along behind two hours later…

LOVING the people I follow and who follow me, for their dedication, teamwork, awareness…. and much more… we really are like a huge global family, we don’t always agree, we definitely watch out for each other and when its time for someone else to do the dishes, we do them.

I try optimism, yet the lure of lies within the tweets I see or that are pointed out to me almost always bring me to pessimistic side of me at best. I kind of go “good cop/bad cop”. Like the vaping devil’s advocate, I ~try~ to have a standard, giving a chance to anyone to see the opposite side, yet knowing it may be on deaf ears.

That’s ok, it’s the followers of that person I’m more concerned about seeing the followup…with the original tweeter battered and bruised with the truth. Normally, one or 12 will jump in with a link, a statement  – and have a knack for being there. I don’t often see that with “the other side”. They leave themselves to us to either show the truth or be tweeted alive….

I’m still learning – from all of you, and I thank you for it. We’re either tweeting to the choir or tweeting to someone with a predisposed position. Rarely can there be a change of heart, thought, goal or motive…. but we’re doing it anyway!

I try humor (try, it’s not always “funny” I’ll admit). Truth. Valiance. Hero & villian within the same tweet on occasion. Sarcasm. Evil thoughts. Friendly questions…. sometimes I’m just an ass. Please note, I am not an expert. Not “trained” in social media, and certainly don’t know what I’m doing half the time, faking it the other half. 🙂 I see others doing. Not being afraid. Taking “social risk” if you will, with or without thought. Tweeting their asses off for the better of man/womankind.

We, and more than likely you who are reading this, are an advocate. We’re waiting for the next “bad news” story. It might *doubt it* actually be true. With global emphasis on “how bad” e-cigs are, we’re paying attention worldwide, we’re not uneasy about tweeting mayors, senators, governors, organizations like the CDC & FDA…the President himself… it doesn’t mean I (we) always take the “best way” to handle situations, but it’s how we roll… and I’ve been told I was “over the top” very early in my twitter account by a vendor..one time, and I couldn’t believe I was even close yet.  🙂

There can be some very serious damage control to be done when one tweet says “dangers” from an “expert” or health pro and so on……and thousands see and some believe before I or others have to assess their intention. The perception is that we’re ganging up on people when we see an idiotic tweet in regards to bans, restrictions, children, taxing, dangers….

091

That’s important to me and others who are advocating and standing up to these lies, to

“cut them off at the tweet”

so to speak. Advocating in the vaping world can be such a blast, and such a draining effort at times. I know I’ll do it whether I’m encouraged or not, retweeted or not. It’s about everyone – current smokers afraid who may see the misinformation, people who aren’t sure, and it is about future smokers and their choice as well.

fight

Sometimes it’s a snipe hunt. I realize some health/control people like my pal Simon Chapman have ulterior motives. I’ve been following him quite a while. He finally blocked me. It took a while for him to hit that block button, though.

Simon recently called (vapers) out here like he’s done so many times…

simon and the infant

I saw no point other than to respond the way I did here if you’re so inclined:

https://twitter.com/SimonChapman6/status/594373015778959360

Had I provoked him? I didn’t think so, at least not on that particular tweet, but yes, yes I have. I did after, and made them much more personal and tailored directly to him. Questioning his integrity, questioning his intelligence. Well then he blocked, and for a lack of better terms, He’s blocked bigger and better folks than myself long before I started and he’ll do it forever.

I followed him and others, to not only see the idiocy of their tweets for my own enjoyment, I figured I may learn something from him along the way.

I learn things about wind farms and tobacco control from people like simple Simon.

He’s the “expert”, right?

Reducing tobacco use should be the priority….Shouldn’t we be on on the same side?

I’ll miss you Simple Simon!

Lets move on down the vape trail a bit. I try my best to be civil, but in the end, advocacy, in my mind, has no battle line. Bruises are common, some will block without provocation, some will tweet & tweet until there’s just a big circle of stupidity…..and not care in the end.

Some will be awesome and at least pretend to understand even if they don’t, and some flat get it right away.

The pretenders and the get it right away folks are the best.

It’s not in my nature to be just “nice”.

22

Some of my fellow tweeters are unbelievably awesome at it. I absolutely admire you who keep your calm, cool & composure. I try, but in the long run, I’m more reactionary and constantly at the line of incorrigible.

I don’t believe when there are things like this – that there’s a line.

bezanis

Mr. Bezanis is obviously an idiot, so we’ll move on.

When I see something from a Tobacco Control group, Cancer, actual Doctors, Public Health… and it’s irresponsible, I make it my mission to spot check these people.

I added the words after in the graphic below to post to them, but you get the picture in their tweet & mine.

There are a FEW vendors who do as well, but almost all I see are individuals. Unpaid and very committed to the vaping cause & community in various ways and means.

My Vaping Anniversary

Of importance to me with Abi’s blog I’m about to present to you all.

To some, the journey into vaping whether finding it on your own like me, by accident, or someone helping you, does SOMETHING to your life.

It gives you among other things, the power over tobacco, that had you in *its grip (*its: tobacco companies, peer pressure, life, addiction, etc.)

It becomes a very large victory within itself in your life. Because of vaping, This is the same feeling I had when I started the survey. I’d been vaping well over a year before I got involved – head in sand kind of thing. When I did get on twitter, I didn’t know anyone, I wasn’t in any facebook groups, and I didn’t know a thing other than that it worked for me. I just wanted to do SOMETHING & tell the world!

We are reactionary in our knowledge & what vaping is about, we crave more. It’s not about power or status, it’s about making a change for the better in the world. If it inspires, it is better for others.

Abi Cott, I not only commend you for the work you’ve done, I dearly admire you among others!

It IS about the fight, It IS about the others who don’t know yet, and it IS proof positive we have a voice.

Keep On ‪#‎Vaping‬ On.

The American Lung Association: Reducing Tobacco. The Litmus Test & Ulterior Motives

defendantsIt looks good on paper, doesn’t it? The caring about the children. The battle cry of well respected organizations, backed by other respected organizations.

It seems to the average reader or viewer to be well thought out concern. Their scathing letter to the President is below.

They must have one common goal. Tobacco harm reduction for the children. It says so right in the letter below! Well, I’d beg to differ, but I’m all over begging. I’m going to tell you the truth.

Litmus Test: A test that uses a single indicator to prompt a decision.

Reduction of tobacco USE worldwide is “everyone in public healths” goal.

Think about that.

The World Health Organization (W.H.O.) recently said they had a

TWENTY-FIVE year GOAL to reduce smoking.

That’s not a goal, that’s a plan to keep revenue.

Here’s the Litmus Test:

Do e-cigarettes reduce tobacco use?

Yes.

That should do it for ANY ORGANIZATION pretending they want less smoking.

Responsible organizations like (M.O.V.E) say e-cigarettes should be encouraged.

Period.

Those are Doctors. Scientists. Researchers. Medical Professionals. Are they all wrong?

There’s plenty of research but the irresponsible organizations in the photo above and letter they’ve SIGNED below are conveniently omitting from their calculations of math on the “worries of children” and public health.

Wait… they’re calculating the numbers… and it isn’t working out to their advantage.  What you may not realize is that

THESE ORGANIZATIONS ARE A BUSINESS. FUNDING.

Now the irresponsible letter to the President from these people and their organizations, it’s short and to their point. I would think if I had the President’s attention, I’d mention the efforts in reducing tobacco. They want “regulation”.

Notice their letter doesn’t show any science, doesn’t ask to reduce TOBACCO, (they want to keep it around) just claims of children, flavors, and regulations (for tax revenue purposes) on e-cigarette use.

The Lung Association deleted it from their website, but this is a PDF

LungAssociation

which have been properly dismissed already right here

(By Sally Satel, a Doctor):

Why The CDC Has It Wrong About The Rise In Teen Vaping

Why are they so rushed to want the President to take action? Are they REALLY worried about kids?

I believe a couple on this list might actually care about children. I don’t think they do. They all have ulterior motive.

That’s harsh to say, right? You’d think so, but wait! They SIGNED their NAMES to this.  I’m just calling them out.

Litmus Test: A test that uses a single indicator to prompt a decision.

Litmus Test. Do e-cigs take revenue away from organizations, both private and public? YES.

They most certainly do. That’s more like it.

Tobacco?

Of course! They’re LOSING cigarette sales! That’s why they’re falling on themselves to get into the market. Think of the money they’re losing!

 Public Health?

Yep. All forms of smoking-related health care will be needed less….and already IS. Doctor visits, hospital visits…less cancer, less heart issues…. breathing issues… less COPD… the list is endless. In ten years, if these organizations don’t get their way…

Think of the money they’re losing!

Tobacco Control – Research – Anti-Tobacco Services.

Lung Association, Stop smoking clinics. You know the rest….

Grants! Donations! $$$ Customers $$$  !

Think of the money they’re losing!

Pharmaceutical Companies!

Drug companies can’t sell their drugs to stop smoking (which if I remember have about a 7% success rate) and the drugs they also manufacture and SELL because of smoking illnesses….   $$$$$

Think of the money they’re losing!

Government? Well…. they’ve got the winning hand.

Yes they do. TAXES.

Think of the money they’re losing!

Their Ponzi Scheme

Are vaping and e-cigarettes are working and worthwhile as a harm reduction device?

When those who will lose money and not profit from it respond so vehemently and irresponsibly to it, something is wrong. They are not being truthful, and they have their financial reasons for it.

If they oppose it, they want you to smoke. If they know the “dangers” they claim, (MUCH LESS than smoking) they’d FIX those expediently with great care, and end tobacco as we know it in ten years. Not in 25. No sense in doing that, they won’t profit from it.

If there Is a deafening silence, they’re making profit already.

Think of the money they’re losing!

Health Journalists. Ethics & Truth. Don’t Shoot The Messenger.

ethics2In the U.S. there’s Health Journalism conference…. I think it ends today….

On health. For people. Presumably on the health of people. That intrigues me. These people write about health. YOU are the messenger.

One can only presume your job is to give absolutely and without question, balanced and truthful information to your readers about facts on whatever subject of health  you’re writing on.

That’s pretty important. Someone looks to you for information. Pretty hefty responsibility if you ask me.

In my own “not so glamorous” day job, I service security systems. Pretty unimportant, until you consider ALL have life saving devices. Fire, Heat detection. Burglary. Medical pendants. Panic buttons. Holdup alarms. Other things integrated with the systems. Pretty important.

If I’m wrong, or make a poor decision or say, don’t do my job to the best of my ability, someone potentially could get hurt or die. I look at that as huge. I need to be right every time. No room for error or misleading calculations. I can’t just do “part of my job”. Lives are at stake.

I vape. I use an e-cig. I’m almost 2 years smoke-free. If you write about health, surely the idea of tobacco harm reduction has come across your keyboard at least once. Surely you’ve heard of vaping or at least an e-cigarette as a way to reduce or stop smoking.

Surely if you’re a “science/med “journo”, e-cigs have crossed your path. If not in the science side of your journalism with technology, certainly the subject has come up either with you or your readings along the lines of your health interests. Someone you know. No?

Good or bad, you’ve at least heard of e-cigs or vaping. Is that not a huge part of health? Smoking/quitting smoking? Ways… means… struggles…controversy in the e-cigarette world… ringing a bell? No? REALLY? Wow.  If you’re a journalist and you haven’t heard of this by now, you need to read more than you write to inform your readers.

Get out more. Talk to your professional friends. Responsibly. Professionally. With truth. If you don’t LIKE the truth, at least LINK the truth. That would just be a courtesy to the reader you are trying to inform. *Wink*.

Wait a minute… maybe not. Seems some “journalists” are like some in public health.

Now I come to the trust part of my blog. trust

Imagine an older person, who may be afraid of asking questions to anyone, or not knowing anyone who vapes.

Maybe she’s tried every other method to quitting smoking there is known to man. Maybe she’s afraid to try e-cigarettes.

All she sees in the MEDIA is bad, or at least that is what she remembers.

Maybe she’s new to the online twitter world and unsure and only uninformed by default …finding out on twitter about e-cigs for the first time and learning on twitter with a random search. UGH.

Maybe, just maybe she sees misinformation and decides to keep smoking.

Meet this lady. She walked into a vape shop. (Thank you for that blog, Deb Iten!)

This is why ethics and truth is in question.

So, you see, I fight for that lady.

The M.O.V.E. Organization represents the professional community who fights for that lady.

Other Twitter & Facebook members feverishly FIGHT for that lady.

Along with all the other babbling I do on twitter, facebook and here where

I did a survey of over 7,000 people WORLDWIDE…

Certainly, I am no journalist, but I am an advocate. I and many others watch for this very thing:

Misinformation.

Don’t take it personally. Take it personally. Doesn’t matter.

I distrust YOU because you claim “don’t know enough”,

Just like all the others.

If you don’t know what you’re supposed to “know” by now, after ecigs have had 10+ years on the market, you’re more idiotic than the posts I call you out on.

If you’re in the health field and you write about it without the truth, shame ON you.

To be informative, you must be informed. I learn something EVERY day about vaping. I DON’T know everything, but I’ll ask, read, question things and then read some more.

Dear President Obama: Tobacco Use & Ecigs. CDC Director Tom Frieden

obamasit3

(President Obama & CDC Director Tom Frieden)

Dear President Barack Obama:

As a former smoker yourself of 30 years, you can relate to the challenges of becoming tobacco free. Knowing the potential dangers drive the desire to quit despite the difficulty.

The challenge is the same with Americans and abroad, and you CAN become THE leader of tobacco harm reduction worldwide with one swift phone call to CDC Director Tom Frieden on the results and studies at ecigarette-research.org.

In the spirit of going straight to the top (that’s you) and pretending we’re just old friends, two guys emailing back and forth, I implore you to read this and act accordingly regardless of his opinion, regardless of the pending F.D.A.’s deeming regulation on e-cigarettes.

I am SURE you will not take this lightly. Lives are at stake. I hope you will address this immediately and have an adult conversation with Dr. Frieden. Some well needed guidance in the effort on your part, despite his experience in tobacco control could change the world.

I’d like to speak frankly as if you were sitting with me having coffee or playing a game of basketball, regardless of your position, Mr. President. Grow a pair. Get on this. Call me if you must (I’m sure I am in some agency records by now). I’ll GLADLY explain it to you, I’ll gladly guide you or anyone in charge of making that call to the right people.

E-cigarettes SAVE LIVES. Misdirection is a very dangerous game, and you of all people should know how the media likes to elaborate on false claims.

Recently, Dr. Tom Frieden & the CDC released confusing and misleading information to the public about e-cigarettes within the campaign “Tips From Former Smokers”.  Dr. Tom Frieden is nothing less than irresponsible to elude to e-cigarettes being “as dangerous” or equal to smoking cigarettes. To be clear, there are extremely consistent results to the contrary, without prejudice, again at ecigarette-research.org.

Why is this not mentioned or looked at, why is it simply ignored? Ignoring valuable research is nothing less than detrimental to public health. I don’t believe this was oversight. I believe this was blatant misrepresentation and willful ignorance on the part of Dr. Tom Frieden.

As you are a professional politician, you surely will understand the ploy and cry of recent reports of “children” as another way to garner support. I care about the motive, I care more about the end results. Public opinion IS the motive, not public HEALTH.

The children today COULD see their children with much less tobacco use with this technology, their present family members going away from tobacco. The ONLY thing we don’t know is “long term” (it’s already been around more than 10 years), and we’re taking our chances. Without tobacco.Without question, Vaping Saves Lives.

That should tell you the conviction we have in this device, despite the slur of “danger” by all “concerned” with “our” positions. To read some of the fodder, you’d think the “experts” want us to go back to smoking.

The only danger with e-cigarettes after almost two years of my use is the politicians, tobacco control and “public health” downplaying their effectiveness.

Your words below as you appointed Dr. Frieden as Director of the CDC:

https://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/president-obama-appoints-dr-thomas-frieden-cdc-director

America relies on a strong public health system and the work at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is critical to our mission to preserve and protect the health and safety of our citizens.

Your words on

http://thenationalmarijuananews.com/2015/04/breaking-president-obama-support-marijuana-sunday-cnn/

Obama also points to the decline in tobacco use as an example of how effective public health models can be if taken seriously. Obama said, “You know, one of the great victories of this country has been our ability to reduce incidences of smoking, increase the incidences of seat belt use. You know, we save tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of lives every single year. (..on marijuana) ...we just made sure that they were well-informed and if somebody has an addiction, we made sure that we made it easy for them to get help.”

I am sure you will never read this, Mr. President, but if you do, I would hope you’d like to hear more on the positive reduction in tobacco use with e-cigarettes. We call it vaping.

There are millions worldwide waiting on one leader to step up to the plate.

You are not the last resort to ending tobacco use via smoking, death is.

There is a popular public display of politicians, public health & medical “experts” claiming child proof caps are a must lately. They elude to the notion is not in the hearts of those of us in the vaping community to think about children, and I’m here to tell you they are wrong.

Their posturing conveniently this gives the steadfast impression of a cult like mob mentality. They’re very good at holstering public opinion, giving the impression no one who vapes wants it. Funny it’s mentioned because I asked vapers this very question in a survey.

This cute ploy is done in many other arenas of politics…grandstanding…. thinking of the children invokes emotional response, invariable support and everyone falls for it. I call complete and well contrived bullshit. They have media on their side, all I have is a blog and some truth.

The misled raise their fists and shake their empty heads in disgust to the delight of those who have bigger plans with those bills they want to pass on vaping, e-cigarettes. Other less conspicuous agendas are behind the cry, and any variation there of: “Think about the children”.

It certainly is not about the children or public health.

If you vape and didn’t know it, A child died in New York from ingesting liquid nicotine in December of last year. I do not find this funny. The initial report stated “It does appear to be just a tragic accident,” said village police Sgt. Austin Ryan, adding that the glass bottle containing the liquid nicotine did not have a childproof cap.

That report was sadly showing more content about e-cigarettes than concern for the child.

A report by ABC News stated today “Police say the mother’s sister didn’t know the boy was going to be at the house that day and left an uncapped bottle of liquid nicotine on a low table.”

First report said “did not have a childproof cap”. Second report said “left an uncapped bottle”. Like any story, the truth is within the lines, the deception is in the content. I hate the very idea that any child would be hurt, sick, poisoned or die from negligence of any kind and it breaks my heart. Preventable? ABSOLUTELY. Adult responsibility, as with alcohol, bleach, car keys or any other adult product plays the ONLY role in this tragedy.

Case closed in Fort Plain liquid nicotine death

I have children. I have friends that vape. They have children. The propaganda behind the headlines isn’t that this innocent child died, it is that there needs to be regulation. The very idea that vapers do not WANT childproof or tamper resistant packaging is absurd and not true. Sadly and INEXCUSABLY This child died because

  • An adult left an uncapped bottle on a low table
  • An adult didn’t know the boy was going to be at the house that day

You decide whether a childproof cap would have prevented this tragedy. That is enough of that.

Below are just a few of OUR statements from vapers (Their words, no edits) about child resistant/proof containers from question number nine in the Vaping Truth Survey. There were many strong statements regarding children and safety for vaping, and they were NOT hard to find.

I feel in this instance, I will speak for every vaper out there, barring those folks with arthritis or other dexterity issues, vapers want 18+ sales for the most part and child-proofing caps are what we DO want, regardless of the spin and lack of integrity the politicians pretend to have.

Vapers want childproof tops.

Saturday, Dec 27th

Child-resistant caps Friday, Dec 26th

No sales to children Wednesday, Dec 24th

Child abuse to parents who aren’t responsible for keeping their liquid out of the hands of the their kids Saturday, Dec 20th

childproof caps on eliquid bottles, existing consumer regs applied to batteries, that is all Wednesday, Dec 17th

As nicotine is a poison the public should be aware to keep this away from children! We don’t want to glorify it in front of them, we just want to live longer to enjoy them (the children) Saturday, Jan 24th

I should clarify that I would have absolutely no objection to minor sale bans or childproof caps either, it’s just that it’s not something I would explicitly “like” to see (as your question is phrased) since I have no children to worry about personally.

The one other thing I would say, regarding childproof caps, is that there’s a danger they will give some vapers a false sense of security (they also won’t protect pets). The best idea, in my opinion, is to simply keep all of your gear out of the reach of children and pets – whether you believe it’s safely “confined” or not. I’ve never understood why some people seem to find this so very difficult. Saturday, Jan 24th

Minimal Invasion. I see No need for Vapors to bear Sin tax due to BT tax losses. Government thievery! Child proof caps okay but then will come regulation on each and every available piece of equipment. Unacceptable to have a hand full of people dictating the lives of millions. Saturday, Jan 24th

We already have these things. Every shop I’ve been in has No one under 18 signs and don’t sell to minors. If liquid isn’t quality, people won’t buy it. Vapors are a vast community and we let newbies know not to get the stuff from the gas stations that comes from out of the country (China). I’ve never seen any bottle without a childproof cap and that can be taken care of with Parenting. Taxing it like tobacco will make it inaccessible to people who need it to quit smoking. Banning it and making more unnecessary laws is stupid and a waste of tax payer money. It’s not dangerous to bystanders. Friday, Jan 23rd

It’s not for children, but the industry has regulated itself fairly well so far. Friday, Jan 23rd

Pretty straight and forward. No sales to minors, having pure quality e-liquid, child proof caps for obvious reasons, and battery control or safety awareness. Wednesday, Jan 21st

Self-regulation has worked pretty darn well and can work well. No regulation is necessary. But we will have federal regulation and should have simple, achievable, reasonable standards in manufacturing process, e-liquid quality control, batch testing and marking, 18+ only sales, childproof caps and THAT is about it. And it MUST not be 50 different rules in 50 different states or it will destroy the marketplace. And it MUST not include one-penny of additional excise tax for two reasons – It will go up and it drives all market behavior to tobacco channels (tobacco wholesalers, not consumers, not retailers PAY the excise tax) dominated by big tobacco. And products must NOT be defined as tobacco or it will make competing with cigarettes that much more difficult and more people will smoke. And more people will die.

Wednesday, Jan 21st

There do need to be some controls in place, children should not be vaping, for example. But I also believe that this should be financially accessible to adults who want to try it to quit smoking. Taxing sales of equipment or liquid will only make smoking cigarettes more justifiable to someone who has been considering quitting them. Tuesday, Jan 20th

God please dont make anymore childproof caps. I know im an adult but they’re starting to get really frustrating! Tuesday, Jan 20th

I am quite capable of making my own decisions. I understand the risks to children and safety involved. I do not need anyone to take care of this for me. Tuesday, Jan 20th

I keep my liquid away from my children and my all my vaping equipment is looked after as I would any electrical products. My children have been educated that my (and my husband’s) ecig are ‘medicine’ and not to be played with or tried by them. Tuesday, Jan 20th

Childproof bottles and only sales to 18+ year olds? Absolutely! Regulation of materials used in pre-made coils and atomizers? Absolutely! Regulation of e-juice as a “tobacco product”? Absolutely NOT! If regulation of e-juice is in our future, it should be regulated in the same way that alcoholic beverages are. Tuesday, Jan 20th

Regulation is another word for taxation, I gave up smoking due to the high cost. Other then basic safety such as no sale to minors and child proof caps, I believe the industry can regulate it self safely and effectively. Tuesday, Jan 20th

As it is used as an alternative for getting your nicotine fix, it should be only sold to ages 18 and over, child proof bottles are a must just in case Tuesday, Jan 20th

Ecig batteries have no business being regulated by the FDA. They should be UL tested/certified and that’s it. Eliquid should have childproof caps, shrink wrap/tamper proofed, and tested for quality. Monday, Jan 19th

I would like to see all vendors be held accountable for the safety of their juice. We are putting our lives in their hands and if they are not responsible then they should be shut down. Child proof caps are necessary – juices are made with food grade flavoring and smell awesome – children won’t know the difference until they ingest it. Monday, Jan 19th

self regulation has worked, child proofing is being done without the FDA getting involved as well as self imposed age verification clean rooms being used to make juice, ect. ect. ect. Sunday, Jan 18th

Childproof caps are standard where I live as they should be. Tuesday, Jan 13th

Childproof Caps for liquid with nicotine only Monday, Jan 12th

Health Issues Concerning E-Cigarette Users, Public Health Experts, FDA & CDC; For Immediate Release.

heart

E-cigarettes have been around more than 10 years. Toxins & carcinogens are just some of the harsh warnings from politicians and governments worldwide to the public, yet the popularity continues to rise, despite the studies they have seen.

Usage is at an all time high regardless of the latest campaigns warning of possible effects and  public health experts continuing to demonize these devices claiming not enough is known.

Users are coming clean with their experiences.

Below are testimonies from users giving first hand accounts of their personal accounts.

No edits, answers are exactly as given in response to a worldwide survey in response to health issues associated with their individual e-cigarette usage.

These are anonymous answers, there are no conflicts of interest. No individual was compensated for their answers or time, all answers were voluntarily given. These are their voices.

less chronic cough during winter

not significantly, but better

I am asthmatic since baby, thanks to vapotage I no longer suffer to the problem.

Ha-ha, love the “yes” and “no” answers to that open question !

Los beneficios han sido evidentes desde el principio casi.

Additional benefits: far fewer colds and other passing infections since changing to vaping. NO coughing or chest infections at all.

I was hospitalized for double pneumonia and doctor said he saw no detrimental effect to vaping and that perhaps the moisture would in fact be good for breaking up my lungs. And some insurance companies are now considering vaping to not he considered as a smoker which lowers insurance premiums.

In the first week i could breath better, walk stairs without going out of breath. I have less colds and the one i have heals faster.

My bad smokers cough has all but gone, and I don’t get out of breath as quickly when exercising

I cut my 5K run time by 8 minutes.

Sense of taste & smell back to normal after 45 years. No cruddy lungs. Hardly ever suffer from colds now. House & car smells like a sweet shop.

Being a diabetic (type 2) since I started vaping my bs reading are somewhat higher. Now as I have only found 1 juice I like, if it is affecting my BS levels it’ll be a bit of a bugger.

I coughed myself to a bloody mess while smoking. Research showed; cancer, no. copd, yes. I was already coughing for a long time a lot.

I never cough now and I can breathe better. I am also not so depressed.

My fingers used to go white on cold days, but now I don’t suffer with that or the chilblains that I used to. I must assume my circulation is improving.

Since i’m vaping my Health is much better than before.

I simply feel better in myself generally

I think when you stuff up and get e-juice directly in your mouth this could be an issue that may cause irritation at least.

I feel betetr and can breathe easier now.

Because vaping is healthier than smoking

Because i feel loads better vaping and i am way happier

I do blood test every 6-12 months to monitor my liver due to my long term liver condition. The condition has been improving over last 18 months.

My weight has increased donce I quit smoking and started using an e-cigarette…which was an annoying but acceptable downside.

Stomach problems doctor said vaping causes it. Acid.

I’m able to smell much much better since i vape (that is sometimes a disadvantage, e g in the Underground Train …)

I can taste food better too 😀

Sanity, yes the present anti smoking tactics are driving people mad!

Taste and smell is sharper. Also no phlegm.

Better overall improvement in my health.

I haven’t noticed any benefits really. But i was starting to develop a cough upon waking just before i started vaping and the cough went away within a week of starting vaping.

Taste and smell are back to

No more BP meds or cholesterol meds required now. Only thing which is slow to recover and continues to be a bit of an issue is poor circulation.

Don’t cough all the time any more, don’t wheeze when I work hard, don’t feel like I’m dying after a night of drinking and my taste is as I remember it before I became a smoker.

I still have some breathing issues but I have gained quite a bit of weight. Not because of vamping but due to an injury that immobilised me for some time.

There is no longer the nasty smoke smell and smokers breath that comes with using cigarettes.

I do feel better in myself.

Fortunately I didn’t experience health problems from smoking, so there was no change after switching to vaping. I have had bronchitis twice since vaping though, and had never had it before when smoking. I also have frequent problems with throat and bronchial irritation, dryness and soreness from vaping.

generallly felt better

Haven’t really noticed any changes maybe easier to breathe

I had no health issues from smoking, but since starting to vape, I have had no colds, flu, or hayfever.

Right at the start i did have some bleeding gums sore throut and coughing up all kinds of bad stuff, but i had similar problems in other quit efforts

i have a slight intolerance to PG, but if i smke a 70/30 VG/PG i am ok

Heavy vaping can be dehydrating & can upset gums or throat, even get on your chest a little but those things are more common with cheap mystery e-liquids. By contrast, good quality e-liquids from trusted vendors where we can trace the ingredients are far friendlier. The symptoms are minor compared with those from smoking.
You should learn about what is in e-liquid & how to select different ratios of pg & vg.

My taste, and smell have also improved………

I don’t cough in the morning, also stopped producing any kind of black mucus. I breathe easier and can do exercice for longer without running out of breath.

BECAUSE ITS TRUE

Only a problem with dry mouth hurting me.

vape is extremely profitable

I have some health problems already, but they were not smoking-related. I haven’t noticed any health improvements, but I am happy that I am avoiding the risk of smoking-related health probles now!

Cardiac and family doctors both say I’m better.

dont get a cold as often as I used to

No wheezing, no extreme wheezing when lying down, lung test I tested way better than my age! No more blood pressure meds since down to zero nic.

My allergies improved, the slight smoker’s cough I had is gone, and my overall health has improved noticeably. I simple feel better.

Cholesterol dropped from 430 to 280 (w/o medication), stamina greatly increased, lost all indications of perio (previously treated for 10 years), total loss of angina events

I have more energy, my heart rate doesn’t go nuts when I climb a flight of stairs. It’s great.

I can run up stairs again. I don’t get winded dragging my trashcans down my 500-foot long driveway, and I’m back into mountain biking.

My cigarette habit affected my health in such a way that I had to sell my old mountain bike.

3 doctors are thrilled and have me down as a former smoker.

Singing voice is much better of after only a month off pf the cigarettes, the vape doesn’t seem to do any harm as long as I’m not dehydrating, but thats just all the more reason to stay hydrated.

MY LUNG’S SOUND CLEAR AND MY PULSE AND BLOOD PRESSURE ARE BELOW NORMAL NOW. I WORK OUT AND I HAVE A PULSE OF 60 NOW INSTEAD OF 88 AND MY BP IS 102-64 WHICH IS EXCELLANT.

Breathing is better. Sleep pattern is better. I feel all round much healthier since quitting smoking.

I feel 100% more healthy since I quit smoking

I feel much fitter in every aspect. Only side effect I’ve noticed is a dry mouth in the mornings.

I have not had any adverse effects since I started vaping.

I dont use my inhaler nearly as much just when my allergy kicks in

Breathe easier, less coughing, don’t stink, less headaches

I didn’t smoke long enough to have any medically diagnosed issues, but I have noticed a significant drop in pain from deep breathing, and soooooooo much less coughing.

I fell beter in every point since I am vaping

No more smokers cough, more stamina, it smells nothing after cold smoke, the taste buds have recovered.

.

my breathing is better, my food taste better and i am sleeping better

I wasn’t a smoker, but I do experience psychological benefits. It helps me relax and de-stress

I’ve never had blood tests etc but I feel amazing. Far better than when I was smoking.

All around better health. Doc commented that my lungs haven’t sounded THAT good in a long while

For years I’ve had problems with my tonsils, every 3-4 months they got infected. Since I quit smoking I hadn’t had any problems with them whatsoever.

only one cough/cold in over 2 years

When ever I walk by someone vapeing it triggers an asthma attack.

Used to fail lung function tests as a smoker – had to do lung function tests at work in the factory I worked in they were done 3 monthly – failed every one of them, when I had been vaping 11 months I had a lung function test at my local hospital – I passed – and the nurse advised that my lung capacity at that time was only 2% less than a non smoker – I would be interested in having another one in a years time to see what level my lungs are then

Yes and no are odd options here. Also have better skin and appetite.

I breath better and the morning coughing jags are gone.

You forgot the one that says: No more bad breath.
Also in 2014 I saved 60.300 NOK by not buying cigarettes.

I can Smell better, my taste improved.

no coughing in the morning, less coughing in general, when ill. Less susceptible to common cold and such, sense of smell and taste are better, curtains and living environment in general smells better (usually fruity) 🙂 etc…

Barley using my asthma inhalers what a difference

I have noticed no differences, positive or negative, since I started vaping

Haven’t really noticed any difference

No pneumonia this last year, usually had it 2-3 times a year while smoking.

Better breathing, better smelling ability, better overall feeling.

I get occasional tickling in the back of my throat when I don’t drink enough liquids whilst vaping. Nothing compared to my laboured breathing and morning coughs when smoking though!

breathing, strength increased

When I smoked I had heavy smokers cough,
sometimes so strong that I could hardly breathe.

The smoker’s cough is completely gone.

Since I vapors can I smell better.
A week after I smelled immediately if a smoker was near the bus, or passing me left.

I started on 27 March with 11mg nicotine, now I have reduced to 3 mg nicotine.

complexion improved and not had one cold or flu bug since vaping…due to the PG i assume…being an fda approved air sanitiser

I do have problems with flavours, so I use them only in very low concentrations <1%.

My stamina is much better, I breath much easier, walking uphill and in stairs isn’t as much of a hassle as it used to be, and my fingers, nails and teeth aren’t as yellow as they used to be.

My lungs feels healthier.

i can feel it for my health was vaping the right Thing.

better health

Never felt better. Vapeing saved my life.

My astma has disapearred and I can breath normally.
My overall condition is better, taste and smell is better.

It’s true…

BP down significantly.
Breathing better.
Sleep better.
Stopped snoring.
More energy.
Not cranky and resentful like other methods of trying to quit smoking.

better breathing, no slimy throat / smoker’s cough @morning, better tasting,..

There you have it. Health concerns public health experts, the FDA & CDC don’t want to hear. They in fact are ignoring them. Beneficial Bias? Yes. Truth? Absolutely.

Why are they ignoring the best way to reducing smoking or eliminating it all together?

Tobacco Control & others including the American Lung Association have their own view. They don’t like smoking, but they don’t like e-cigs. One would think any anti-tobacco agency would embrace these as a way to get people off of tobacco, but there are other motives. It seems “control” is slipping away from them one quitter at a time.

Reasons Tobacco Control, Public Health, Government & Politicians don’t like e-cigs.

Media & Public Health Uncover Big Vaping Syndicate & Heads Are Rolling

BIG VAPING

Breaking Late this afternoon breaking news hit Twitter and rocked the vaping world, and as it turns out, Simon Capewell may have been the “stool”.

Public health officials worldwide were rattling their bunson burners – firing up years of frustration in what seemed a minor victory uncovering the biggest scandal in public health since the For-mouse-a-hyde capade.

Health officials (((Worldwide on a Saturday?))) were scrambling to know who actually broke the news, odds actually ended up favoring Stanton Glantz as real “stool” – having inside information to the finally broken wall of what no one ever heard of until today, Big Vaping.

Known players were in no particular order, but were in no particular mood, either. Names were not changed to protect the guilty.

Big Stoopid Vape, AKA VapeMeStoopid, Big Vape Charlie, big*SPARKLY*vapor*SJ, Big Vapor Gords, Big Vape DrMA, Big VaEHp from Canada, Big Vapor Agent Ania (curiously “agent” in her name), Big Vapor Debora J, Big Vapor “Paulie” Paul.

Big Broony Vapor, (thought to be the muscle in unknown parts of deep Australia), Big Vapor GrammyNums, Big D Vapor, finally Alan (Big Vapor) and one unclear Johnny Truth BVShill ‏. . .

Authorities are refusing to release imminent information on exactly who broke these once thought unreachable and never together individuals thought to be known as “Big Vapor- or is it “Big Vaping”… It eludes me already.

It seems there’s never been so much as a single secret syndicate meeting – ever. It was not hard to find them – each was sitting at their computer signed into twitter, with facts and stats open in various states of windows, mac and dos computers proclaiming lots of “drivel” out loud… and muttering other slightly harsher words like “hydrate” . All seemed to have a quick wispy cloud of vapor disappearing in front of them every so often…

“Big Vapor Agent Ania” as she is known, was being handcuffed and said

“I am NOT going without my mint condition bobblehead Stefan and you can’t make me, copper”,

perplexing investigators as to what she was really trying to say, as she got in the back of the public health van she exclaimed “I just won it and it’s coming with me!” (Still thinking copper, aren’t you)

Alan (aka Big Vapor) Claims no ties, yet on his profile it clearly states “Consumer, with 0 industry ties not even Big Vapor!” – a common cover according to the experts, but he was questioned and released.

“Big Stoopid Vape” was heard saying she “wasn’t saying shit“, except this reporter could kiss her “something or other..” and they pepper sprayed her. sc

The confusion started in a tweet to someone, who tweeted someone else and the coverup was unfolding as it retweeted at least two times on 6 different accounts from 19 people in 4 minutes – before their very eyes.

Big Vaping, it seems, is similar to what the public health world calls much a more dangerous field than vaping, “Big Tobacco”. Dum Dum Dummmmm…….. Media can’t even get this right.

The similarities from two websites are obviously are even fooling the so-called experts. It seems “intelligent people” in high positions cannot tell the difference from persuasion, innuendo and flat out false statements from the State of California at stillblowingsmoke.org

– and real truth from THIS website , notblowingsmoke, org which lists advocacy sites – just like this blog does, and real science for the public- for obvious reasons.

They didn’t pay me to put advocacy on here, either. Dumm Dum Dummmmmm.

In the world e-cigs, vapers and vaping~  research and science is very important to non existent “Big Vapor”.  As a matter of fact, truth just seems to dissipate from anyone else in public health except the wonderful worldwide team of real Researchers, Doctors, Nurses, and Scientists at M.O.V.E.

One of them put together this million dollar presentation called Vaping-the-truth-USA

The conclusion; there is no “big vaping” after all, just a big bunch of wind from California – heading north and east into Canada…  as far as e-cigs go, pretty much all public health officials are still being questioned for integrity, ignoring science and possible litigation is sure to arise above the big vaping world, regardless of organization from within.

Turns out the only “industry ties” are grants from tobacco to public health researchers and tobacco control… but we already knew that, the public doesn’t, because it’s information they don’t want you to know – like the research with vaping…. Turns out heads aren’t rolling at all, just your eyes. “Big Vapor Neal” was never found, just a pile of half-eaten old rusty batteries where they thought he’d be. Now – Check Clive Bates out...
