Vaping is Tobacco Control

Tony Ottomanelli II has explained this and you shall understand it.

Vaping is Tobacco Control

“Epidemic?” A Perspective of Youth Vaping & Tobacco Use Trends

OUR consumer group, CASAA has released this. Kudos to ALL who do the work behind the scenes.

“Epidemic?” A Perspective of Youth Vaping & Tobacco Use Trends

Dear Family, Friends, Parents, Educators and Medical Professionals

This one’s from me. I consider you all intelligent and capable of thinking for yourselves. I’m telling all my friends, now I implore you to tell all your friends, relatives, neighbors, enemies, pets…

Research Looking into Media Coverage of E-Cigarette News

This, from Diane Caruana – goes right along with what I said above:

“The media still spreading misinformation”

Studying Flavours

After (our) the U.S. Flavor Survey (that ANYONE can USE for legislative and other puposes)…

Paul explains: “Flavours are one of, if not, the key to successfully switching to vaping.”

Even if he does spell flavors wrong, he’s never rude, we’ve made some trouble on Twitter a time or two… and I like him.

I miss 👼#AgentAngel trying to keep us in line.

Speaking of Control

There’s no “first-hand” control over the data/science/research and “they” don’t like it. They have to replicate it rather than fluffing it up to “their” standard. They’ve lost control and narrative of any & all findings for the first time on a very large scale.

In other words, Tobacco Control “Expert” Ruth Malone doesn’t want to be exposed to “second-hand research“. You know you giggled.

JUUL and other stealth vaporisers: hiding the habit from parents and teachers.

FDA launches new, comprehensive campaign to warn kids

  • Kids will listen:

“seeks to snap teens out of their ‘cost-free’ mentality”

  • Believes? Epidemic? Conjecture:

“believes that youth use of e-cigarettes is reaching epidemic proportions.”

  • Yeah, these will be collector items and traded for e-cigarettes:

“Posters also will be placed in at least 10,000 high school bathrooms”

FDA launches new, comprehensive campaign to warn kids

Statement from FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb

Gottlieb and Zeller large

He’s talking about this “convincingly”… as if he’s selling something. Cigarettes, maybe?

Proof by assertion:

“We’re in possession of data that shows a disturbingly sharp rise in the number of teens using e-cigarettes”

Conjecture:

“use of e-cigarettes has reached an epidemic level of growth”

Threatening adults:

“we’re going to encumber adult smokers by putting in place restrictions that make these products less attractive, or harder to purchase by adults.”

Are you pissed off yet?

Trying to quit smoking? Patches, gums and “experts” are useless – without counseling you.

patch 2.JPG

Are you trying to quit smoking? Have you tried the patch or gum? Did you ask about the success rates when you did? Of course you didn’t. Did you have great expectations? Excellent. That’s what I experts want to hear.

If you’re afraid of trying e-cigarettes, I’m even more enthused. If you didn’t plan correctly, you’re up ten points over the others!

Let us move on quickly before you realize this is futile.

Are patches and gums useless?

Well…. of course not, unless you use them without “counseling“!

That’s also what tobacco companies wanted to hear as they welcomed you back. Also, there’s the public health “expert” sector trying to guilt and shame you, and they miss you as well.

Hang on. Steady yourself. The pharmaceutical companies – you forgot about them, didn’t you? I’ll keep the government out of this blog for time & space.

Did you plan for success?

Of course not. They know better than that.

Feeling a bit dizzy? Outstanding. It’s not your nicotine, you know –  or lack of nicotine intake making you feel that way. It’s them. Public health and organizations make you feel like insinuate you could succeed in your journey to not smoking. Then, of course, you fail.

Yep. Shame on you, too. You didn’t try hard enough! You didn’t plan!!!

Your failure? That’s what they’re counting on. It’s just around the corner.

Knock, knock.

So are your favorite cigarettes.

nicotine in print.JPG

Still didn’t plan for success?

Go on, now… make a commitment, set a date, get your choice of snake oil patches, gums or prescription medication – and once you didn’t, couldn’t or… well – failure is just a part of the process.

Don’t give up. PLAN!!!! Try again! Keep trying! Sure, the patch & gum have about a 7 % success rate, but – what do you care?

Why plan ahead? That would be silly. Half the time they give these ineffective methods away for free!!!

You will be held accountable.

cdc keep trying.JPG

Ready?

You get ready, (nowadays, don’t forget your quit app so your friends can get in on the guilt giving sessons as well!)

Your favorite cigarette brand is waiting, your ash trays want to be dirty again.

Folks, this is 2017. Don’t you think by now there’d be a better way?

Smoke. Try to quit. Get “quit smoking aids”. Try. Fall short. Feel guilty and let them pretend to console you, but smoke again. Keep spending your money.

Nice businesses if you find the work in tobacco, public health or the pharmaceutical sectors, eh? Lack of success is their success.

Quit Attempts:

Attempts is what public health and the pharmaceuticals like. The more the merrier. Repeat business is key.

Lets take a quick peek at quit attempts:

quit attempts the vaper

Thank you to The Vaper for the above graphic!

What about side effects?

Public health says “ask your doctor if it’s right for you”. They never mention success rates, and you never ask.

I’ll let you ponder the side effects of the different “government approved” methods here:

Choose your method at the top here: FDA approved method.

Stunned?

What ABOUT nicotine?

Now, consider nicotine. A startling thing, nicotine. A scapegoat for all things tobacco.

Without tobacco and the MAOI’s, it is not addictive.

So, with all the fuss from some pie-filled mouth in California, (Puff-N-Stuff I affectionately call him) there’s this that inspired this impromptu blog….

Before I go stop trying to help you, I’d like to thank Gregory Conley of the American Vaping Association for this screenshot:

Oh… yeah, the counseling – like my title said…. Staying in business is hard.

The tobacco companies want to stay in business, and who can blame them. The pharmaceutical companies want to stay in business, and who could blame them?

I’ll blame tobacco control experts. Screw ’em. They know better.

Like my title said…. “experts”…are useless without patches & gum to offer. Don’t get me wrong – they mean well – they’ve got good intentions.

Don’t get me started on the Government tonight, they just want you to smoke.

Staying in business with any sense of relevance or truth, is hard.

America: Settling for less to reduce smoking.

smoking-image-yahoo-free-to-share-use

If you’re an American looking to reduce smoking, stop settling for less. Quickly step away from the paid advertisements from the pharmaceutical companies to fund the rigorous and glorified “fight” against tobacco by your friendly neighborhood cessation counselors.

Stop settling for less. Stop dialing quit lines, delete your “free” app. Stop paying attention  to a well organized bunch of morons.

Forget everything you’ve heard, learned and been told to ~swallow~ by anyone in authority. Stop feeding into their substandard propaganda.

The general public doesn’t seem to understand the battle waged by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), various public health organizations and other distinguished experts in anti-tobacco and tobacco control.

“They” evidently, don’t understand it themselves. They LOVE fake news.

They’re playing a game.

With your lives.

Don’t let them fool you, “They” do completely understand. If less tobacco use were the ONLY goal, they’d be pounding vaping products through brick walls to get people to stop smoking.

If they had balls, they’d be standing up and screaming at the idiots who are saying e-cigarettes are the same as smoking. They’re so busy fighting the tobacco companies – they forgot how to interact with real human beings.

They’re busy worrying about funding for their organizations. They’re too busy keeping tobacco in the forefront instead of letting it die a slow sun-baked death in the field by itself. Without a lot of work.

Wait, then they’d be out of work. “They” have become common criminals.

“They” have no incentive (funding, income, research grants etc.) to reduce tobacco, so they lie about things like nicotine. Formaldehyde. Popcorn Lung. They sit idly by and watch, make things up, and refuse to speak. They use fairy tales about children.

All the while, you’re still contemplating your decision to reduce or eliminate tobacco from your life, while they claim expertise.

They only know how to control. Yet, they’re out of control. They want you to believe the ineffective methods are the only way to reduce or eliminate tobacco –  for you, and – if you combine that with counseling, you’re sure to be one of the approximately 3-7% who succeed. If not, you haven’t been trying hard enough.

Why are you settling for less? Because “they” say so?

The public does not understand what they may be settling for when it comes to tobacco harm reduction in the United States.

Here’s what you really need to know if you’re struggling with tobacco.

This, courtesy & via The Vaper is another way consumers, without professional ties to industry, are helping each other and smokers thinking of switching to a much less harmful alternative.

E-cig tips for smokers who want to switch

E-cigarettes were invented, & are continuously being improved, by companies that don’t sell cigarettes.

Although big tobacco companies now own or produce several types of basic e-cigarettes, the e-cigarettes sold by non-tobacco companies are far more satisfying and come in many delicious flavors.

Both Public Health England and the Royal College of Physicians have recommended that e-cigarettes be widely promoted to smokers – they estimate that e-cigarettes are at most 5% as dangerous as smoking.

The majority of the health benefits offered by e-cigarettes come down to the fact that e-cigarettes deliver nicotine in a vapor rather than as smoke. It is the smoke that makes smoking most harmful, like heavy smog or smoke from a house fire, tobacco smoke contains at least 60 carcinogenic chemicals. While carcinogens have been detected in some e-cigarette flavorings, it is typically at levels hundreds of times lower than in tobacco smoke.

There is no evidence that nicotine in low doses is dangerous, nor is there evidence that nicotine by itself (when not ingested as part of a combusted product like a cigarette) is carcinogenic. In fact, nicotine has been approved for sale to children 12 & older, over the counter, as nicotine patches and gum. Further, when separated from the complex mix of chemicals in tobacco smoke, nicotine has not proven nearly as addictive as cigarette smoke. Many people who use e-cigarettes gradually lower their nicotine concentration with no noticeable negative effects, and no cigarette craving.

E-cigarettes have already helped millions of smokers to stop smoking. A lot of their success comes down to the fact that they not only replace the nicotine of conventional cigarettes, but also the ‘action’ of smoking, which many ex-smokers using patches & gum miss and which leads to them relapsing to smoking. E-cigarette use by young smokers has caused smoking among youth to fall at an unprecedented rate.

For sensible advice & guidance when looking into buying an e-cigarette, trust mostly the advice from the following sources:

  • Experienced staff at a dedicated e-cigarette shop, or ‘vape’ shop as we call them. These folks are typically ex-smokers/current vapers themselves.
  • Other vapers who have given up smoking. Vapers commonly love helping other smokers to give up, and love sharing their experience to help them get a satisfying flavor & strength of e-liquid, as well a refillable, adjustable ‘vape pen’ or ‘mod’ to transform that e-liquid into the vapor to be inhaled.

Taking up vaping might seem a little daunting, so it’s helpful to use an experienced person to help you find the combination that works best for you. But once a new vaper has found that ‘sweet combination’ that works for them, it is simply the most enjoyable, easy & effective way to cease smoking.

Nothing is safer than breathing fresh mountain air, but if a smoker cannot give up cigarettes using more conventional methods or therapies, e-cigarettes might just be the thing that allows you to break the smoking habit completely, and permanently.

E-cigarettes: Healthier for you, no threat to bystanders at all.

Millions of us, like The Vaper and I, are not allowing you to “settle” for the same tired, drawn out processes the people in “control” would like you to endure. After all, it is mostly a made up game with players from every aspect of tobacco control. Here’s a bit about how your “addiction” came about via Rampant Antismoking:

“The antismoking bandwagon gained considerable momentum in the five years following the EPA report, prior to the Osteen ruling. Also important is that in the early 1990’s the pharmaceutical cartel and pharma-philanthropy (e.g., Robert Woods Johnson Foundation http://www.rwjf.org/pr/product.jsp?ia=143&id=14912) weighed into the circumstance.

The WHO formally partnered with the pharmaceutical cartel in antismoking (http://www.who.int/inf-pr-1999/en/pr99-04.html) Also, “The American Medical Association, Chicago, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), Princeton, N.J., planned, organized and conducted the 11th World Conference on Tobacco OR Health, which was held in August 2000.” – http://www.rwjf.org/programareas/resources/product.jsp?id=17719&pid=1141

Seizing the opportunity for the sale of essentially useless ‘nicotine replacement therapy’ (NRT) if smokers are progressively pressured to quit, the pharmaceutical interests provided more and more funding and momentum to the antismoking bandwagon. So, despite the Osteen ruling, by the late-1990’s antismoking had become a frenzy. Antismokers, through long-time corrupt conduct, dictated all proceedings and antismoking was awash with funding. The march continued towards fulfilling the Godber Blueprint.”

Wikipedia:

Proof by assertion, sometimes informally referred to as proof by repeated assertion, is an informal fallacy in which a proposition is repeatedly restated regardless of contradiction.[1] Sometimes, this may be repeated until challenges dry up, at which point it is asserted as fact due to its not being contradicted (argumentum ad nauseam).[2] In other cases, its repetition may be cited as evidence of its truth, in a variant of the appeal to authority or appeal to belief fallacies.[citation needed]

In its extreme form, it can also be a form of brainwashing.[1]

If the goal is “less harm”, take them to task, ask “them” why this is acceptable to “reduce harm”, yet vaping products are not.

Pie1.JPG

Take this to heart. If vaping products didn’t work, I would NOT tell you they do with a 79% success rate. Question EVERY “authority” placing doubt in your mind, and do not take “because we said so” as an excuse for them to be condescending because of your curiosity,  or allow them to question your integrity.

Question theirs, ask them why they haven’t educated themselves enough to be much more informative, why they would continue to embarrass themselves, and don’t settle for anything less. Hold them to their own “high standards”.

“They”, after all, are a business.

The health implications of e-cigs according to U.S. agency experts.

criminals.jpg

Prestigious “non-profit agencies” such as the American Cancer Society, American Lung Association,  American Heart Association, Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids and all of their state and local “affiliates” are unwilling to stand up for the public, placing their fiscal priorities before public health.

Joining them are government agencies like the Centers for Disease Control & Dr. Tom Frieden (CDC), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Surgeon General Murthy, Secretary Burwell, and MANY more who will not accept or endorse vaping products as a valid tobacco harm reduction choice.

Because you trust them.

They wouldn’t lie to you, they have your best interest at the core of your health.

Kevin, you can’t be serious!?!

Yep! As serious as a smoker wanting to quit.

They won’t endorse LESS smoking?

Not at all. Unless it is with an approved method.

For NO reason? Aren’t they’re supposed to help consumers? Guide them? Give them advice? Instead, we’re on our own?

Yep. You’d think the American public would need expect no less than balanced and up to date information, evidently that is not standard operating procedure with the United States “health” organizations and their vast network of “affiliates” – or the government.

Doesn’t that seem ODD to you?

Public Health thinks this is a win

I’d like to see a judge rule quickly, that non-profit “public health” & Government agency defendants have violated civil & federal racketeering laws as a result of a decade-long conspiracy to deceive the American public about the much less harmful effects of e-cigarette use and the knowledge of e-cigarettes being at least 95% safer.

In the past decade, the lack of honest and beneficial information being withheld on e-cigs by those above have resulted in continued tobacco use and thereby benefiting those involved with their fiscal decisions to continue their own revenues including taxes, grants, funding and investments by coercing public opinion with propaganda, while acting desperately to avoid responsibility for their actions.

“When tobacco use decreases, less smoking occurs”.

This letter, “signed by 53 leading scientists has warned the World Health Organization not to classify e-cigarettes as tobacco products, arguing that doing so would jeopardize a major opportunity to slash disease and deaths caused by smoking.”

That’s from Reuters, here.

Update 10/26/16:

AGAIN, responsible people in the world have now written this:

COMMENTARY ON WHO REPORT ON ELECTRONIC NICOTINE DELIVERY SYSTEMS AND ELECTRONIC NON-NICOTINE DELIVERY SYSTEMS

“The largest threat to is an informed consumer.”

Public Health

Public health refers to “the science and art of preventing disease, prolonging life and promoting health through organized efforts and informed choices of society, organizations, public and private, communities and individuals.” according to Wikipedia

  • Science and art of preventing disease
  • Prolonging life and promoting health through organized efforts

I’ve covered public health and their challenges they face with understanding harm reduction here.

“Health” organizations in the United States have been heavily opposing vaping products and have NOT endorsed them as tobacco harm reduction products because they are not “approved” by the FDA.

According to regulations released August 8th, 2016, it is illegal for retailers to give advice to consumers. They can’t do that anymore.

You’re not going to shut consumers or organizations up.

Here’s some examples:

Being an inquisitive soul, I decided all on my own over the past few months to ask this direct question on Twitter to MANY “experts”, including ALL of the above. To create a source of non-responses. Each account is active. Each account spouts something nearly every day. Each got the same or similar variant of the same question:

Any comment on the health implications of deceiving adult smokers with regs of #ecigs as “tobacco products”?

I want answers.

I’ve asked the Director of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Tom Frieden.

I’ve asked the Surgeon General, Vivek Murthy.

I’ve ASKED the President & CEO of the American Lung Association, Harold Wimmer:

I’ve asked CEO of the American Cancer Association, Gary Reedy:

I’ve asked “Truth Initiative”:

More than once, I’ve asked the American Heart Association CEO Nancy Brown:

I’ve asked the American Medical Association:

I’ve asked the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids:

I’ve asked the Food and Drug Administration:

Among others, I’ve asked Senators Blumenthal and Boxer:

I’ve asked the PRESIDENT of the United States, Barack Obama:

I’ve asked tobacco control “expert” Professor Glantz:

I’ve asked former Centers for Disease Control Director, Michael Erikson:

Among other questions, I chose to ask Secretary Burwell to the premier of A Billion Lives:

Not only did I ask Sec. Burwell, I was hedging my bets – asking tobacco control “expert”  Ruth Malone, Dr. Judy Monroe (President/CEO of CDCFound) AND Margaret Cuomo to the premier of A Billion Lives.

There was not ONE response from ANY of these “agencies”. Not one.

No ANSWERS?  They’re the authority?

WHY is this acceptable?

WHY are we putting up with this?

WHY are they getting away with it?

IF

the claims by agencies of 480,000 deaths a year from tobacco and related disease is of concern to all of those above, they would do anything in their power to CHANGE that.

They don’t have that desire.

In order to keep the lie alive, their “defense” is, and their ONLY continued efforts and “concerns” are always focused on:

Nicotine. Children. Public Health. Funding.

WHY?

Because they WANT you to smoke. They are promoting combustible tobacco.

Here’s why:

WHO declined to be interviewed for A Billion Lives?

“If you care”

These are just some of the people in the United States government protecting the sales of cigarettes:

A Billion Lives: Exposing the lies on e-cigarettes.

A-Billion-Lives-I-Stand-With-A-Billion-Lives.jpg

The filmA Billion Lives is giving the world an astonishing perspective about the ferocious fight over e-cigarettes between governments, health professionals and organizations around the world… and why.

“A billion people projected to die…you’ll be surprised who’s keeping it that way.”

The world deserves answers.

While organizations and their representatives posture themselves by claiming the reduction or “elimination” of tobacco is a goal, the actions and motives speak volumes by deterring smokers from switching to a much less harmful alternative.

Their actions, and inaction has loudly and publicly objected to vaping products, while quietly trying to keep tobacco burning and revenue as their priority over public health.

“Nobody wants to talk about it…money has something to do with everything.”               ~David Goerlitz

Below is a staggering list of the “who’s who” of public health organizations and personalities who declined interviews for this film.

Big brother has lied again…They’re trying to force an entire industry out of business that is helping people to stop smoking.    ~ Herman Cain

abillionlivesdeclinedlistonly

What are they trying to hide?

Instead of accepting the technology with vaping products as another tool to reach the well claimed goal of an “end-game” of what they describe as a tobacco epidemic, they, with derelict of duty, “public healthprefer to fight against e-cigarettes – instead of supporting what may be the answer to dramatically reducing or elimination of combustible tobacco.

EACH one above did NOTHING to stand up, to educate themselves, and instead created a media storm to denounce these products and supported regulations of (nicotine) vaping products as “tobacco” instead. I encourage you to call them and ask them WHY.

“Health organizations like those mentioned above are funded by sickness and disease. They surely won’t support a device that reduces disease. That’s an automatic pay cut.”                                                   ~Robert McNew

A Billion Lives is making a direct global impact on society as it tells the story about corruption, politics of tobacco control, anti-smoking groups, public health, tobacco companies, pharmaceuticals and governments worldwide over the money and control they’ve lost and want to regain.

The depiction in this film of the criminal intent to stop the disruption of cash flow to businesses, tax revenue and funding of “special interest groups” is sharp, honest and insightful.

Smoking…. it’s good business. So they lie.    ~Aaron Biebert

Directed by Aaron Biebert and released by Attention Era Media, the film has premiered on four continents and already earned five prestigious awards including:

Alice in TobaccoLand.

aliceintobaccoland

According to Wikipedia, Tobacco control “is a field of international public health science, policy and practice dedicated to addressing tobacco use and thereby reducing the morbidity and mortality it causes”.

Let me break that down.

Public health science.  It also says practice.

Dedicated to addressing tobacco use via public health science, policy and practice.

Thereby reducing morbidity and mortality it causes.

It says mortality, not morality.

If the morality on vaping products doesn’t cease, the mortalities will continue.

Down the rabbit hole.

There are hundreds of organizations dedicated to addressing tobacco use. Those organizations are normally funded, among other things, by tobacco use. The Master Settlement Agreement, taxes, government grants and funding by pharmaceuticals trying convincing researchers to see “their side” so the FDA will trust & approve it are all part of the bigger picture. Don’t want any of them chasing us down the rabbit hole now, do we?

Let us have some tea, shall we?

 aliceintobaccolandtea

Tobacco control for the cessation world, involves “approved methods”, counseling, quit lines & other mythical suggestions in tobacco-land such as the always encouraging “quit or die”, you’re not trying hard enough… as smokers travel down the stop smoking hole…

Along come vaping products. Contested? Hot topic? Absolutely. Proof? Yep. Doubts? As far as your fingers can tweet or read in the media in the U.S.A..

It seems simple, really. Less tobacco use by smokers with an alternative in ANY way possible by anyone in the public health field, or by organizations like the Heart, Lung or Cancer associations… would be immediately and swiftly encouraged……well – that, my readers seems to be a fairy tale.

On to “Alice”.

To be balanced there has been some tweeting of vaping products as an alternative. I can’t possibly search for them all, but DID get a “maybe” here in 2015.

Here, in 2014, there was “waiting on evidence”.

Smokers falling a long way seem to always land in a hall with many locked doors….and a table appears… with concoctions and promises of cures to the smoker trying to stop with “try me” and “use as directed” and “FDA approved”. What do they feel, those trying so hard?

Shame.

Without success, a smoker is shamed regardless of the method chosen. (That is Tobacco Control training 101, is it not?)  Shamed, by everyone and their brother – who have been taught that forEVER.

Frustration.

Despite the EFFORT to cease tobacco use, the tobacco plant has nicotine. The cigarette has -how many other- chemicals that also MAKE tobacco addictive by design. Nicotine itself is not addictive, but the world doesn’t know – because they’ve been taught that as well… so they offer nicotine “replacement” therapies. (Love that word “therapy”).

Disillusion.

After multiple attempts for various reasons – be it poor health, children, mortality sinking in, whatever the personal decision was to try -the quit attempt fails or is aborted and the tobacco control machine turns to spin cycle. Round & round the smoker goes, falling down the rabbit hole.

We don’t know enough -about- long term effects. We know enough despite our own government’s challenge of regulations – we’ve stopped smoking -many accidentally- in a way NO other product or advice has come close to succeeding with on our journey down the hole. We communicate with each other via twitter, facebook and more. Learning daily. Empowered, making an impact.

As for long term effects? Well – we’re not smoking – if it were EXACTLY the same risk – I certainly wouldn’t have a blog.

Know enough, Alice. Make a commitment. Part of the perils of knowing enough is learning as much as you can, without bias and being able to relay that knowledge to others seeking information.

Speaking fluently with truth and conviction, will come naturally.

Long term:

agent

What is your definition of a long term study?

Supportive & hopeful methods are applied here.

BUT

The Pool of Tears

“Alice swims through her own tears and meets a mouse, who is swimming as well. She tries to make small talk with him in elementary French –  but her opening gambit “Où est ma chatte?” (“Where is my cat?”) offends the mouse and he tries to escape her.”

That’s the thing about Alice. Clarity. I’m still not sure how clear she is. I need some more tea!

RUTH

Pig and Pepper

“The Cheshire Cat appears in a tree, directing her to the March Hare’s house. He disappears, but his grin remains behind to float on its own in the air, prompting Alice to remark that she has often seen a cat without a grin but never a grin without a cat.”

 A Mad Tea-Party

“Alice becomes a guest at a “mad” tea party along with the March Hare, the Hatter, and a very tired Dormouse who falls asleep frequently, only to be violently woken up moments later by the March Hare and the Hatter. The characters give Alice many riddles and stories…”

   I cannot tell.

Yes. That’s where a consumer could choose an alternative to tobacco.

Not sure about you, but the ‘real world’ is where we are using #e-cigarettes instead of tobacco.

I’m as authentic as they come. Lorien is also. I troll her more than I troll you. 🙂

Ahhh…. nicotine. That’s another of my blogs.

Potential? Huh. Safer but too early to be so blithely reassuring?

See – told you Lorien is authentic. Genuine & approved.

Which are you, proponent or opponent?

Alice, involved in a paper with C. Gartner:

Dueling letters: which one would you sign?

In 2014, DO INDEED was capitalized for emphasis. I appreciate that.

Advice from a Caterpillar

I appreciate the fact that “Alice” is willing to engage with most on twitter. As you know, most of her colleagues will block and never engage.

Simon Chapman and Stan GlANTZ are two examples of (legaleeze: may, might, could) conniving denying monkeys. (Haven’t blogged Capewell or McKee yet.)

Everyone tweets something they regret at one time or another. We’re all human  -except the jury isn’t in on @Entropy72 yet.

This is where I was actually shocked at you. I know from another – personal experience when a professional diagnosis became a lawsuit to a “commoner”. Thing is, we’re professionals just like you. All walks of life, including mental health.

You took your well deserved lumps.

Then you did it again…….

I couldn’t tell if you were joking on this one any more than I can tell your true position on less harm with vaping products.

So off we go to the final chapter of Alice In TobaccoLand…

(Update November,2019)

Then you did it again.

Alice’s Evidence

The Queen shouts her familiar “Off with her head!” but Alice is unafraid, calling them out as just a pack of cards, just as they start to swarm over her.

You engage with anecdotal vapers quaintly without making a statement. Teetering on a picket fence without committing. Rocking back and forth. A dangerous line of indecision. I strongly suggest focusing your eyes on the alleged ball, Less tobacco use for the public. I imagine the implications of a “well respected by her peers” professional like yourself facing one of two possibilities.

  1. You’ll be ostracized by them by merely stating the emperor has no clothes. (Think of the thousands of twitter friends you’ll gain!)
  2.  You’ll empower them to take the stand with you, realizing the potential of millions of smokers very lives hang in the frustrating and disillusioned balance.

Either way, you can’t win, I suppose. Indignant irreverence for your own chosen profession, recognizing the “public” in public health and the public it intends to serve -at least at face value- is unacceptable.

You yourself are a Professor, a nurse, an environmental activist. The Editor of BMJ Tobacco Control Journal. You cannot convince me you’re set on sitting in the middle in a rocking chair on a fence. Being pragmatic  <–(funny that link mentions a unicorn) is “real-world application”.

I am the real world. This is not a guessing game, and lives are at stake. TAKE your eyes “OFF the ball” of tobacco for a moment. Vaping products are being regulated, restricted, taxed & banned as if – tobacco control’s livelihood – is at stake. Rather than being accepted as one way to become the end game, it is the ball they have become.

Speak to colleagues – some who are active tobacco control members around the world, all who have professional titles. They aren’t some rogue set of flunkies, they are your counterparts. Colleagues. Each are aiming for the same goal. Tobacco harm reduction. Here, at M.O.V.E..

Once you’ve done so, you can decide which this is. Real harm reduction, where you can join other members of M.O.V.E. and take a stand publicly against the fire and brimstone establishment  – who don’t like to be tested….

Or grab a match… pick your poison… and let the cards fall where they may.

Toxic Media. E-Cigarettes And Journalism.

nnnnn

Journalists. They spit out low quality fairy tales as fast as an e-cigarette study hits their untrained eye. Such articles give one an eye-opening glimpse into the many “amateur hour” hacks pretending to be “writers” they really are.

What a BUNCH of kumquats. I would be embarrassed to attach my name on such a lack of “efforts” in “journalism” I’ve seen. I can only refer to the skill in which these articles were written as piss-poor. Most of these reek of the kind of stench you find in a port-a-john in a late summer fair full of experts.

With all the articles I see on e-cigarettes in a given week from the “press” and “reliable sources”, MOST are written as if they were made up by the half-assed skill of an 11-year-old child. Still, after all this time e-cigarettes have been on the market, most journalists show very little fact-checking skills and write about them with little to no knowledge of e-cigarettes.

The problem is, those who don’t know better…

may believe them.

These are irresponsible and unacceptable misinformation machines.

piss.jpg

Media today can barely put a comprehensive report out on e-cigarettes without sensationalism. They boldly publish and promote false statements and outright lies without apologies, without evidence, without integrity. There is evidently no pride lost in slinging their feces…

They squealed about “formaldehyde”, which was false, but very few put forth any effort to type about Public Health England?

news2

I am an amateur blogger. I’m not a professional writer, yet I put most of you to shame (both sides of this blog and previous posts for PLENTY of content) with the proper information for a smoker contemplating e-cigarettes and what they need to know.

Sadly, I write better than most of you, and I’m not a writer by profession. Most of you proudly show a lack of intelligence with each new “story”. See – that’s the thing, most of you are just telling stories. You’re specializing in e-cigarettes. E-cigarette fiction writers. Almost ass-hat like.

Am I being condescending? Yes, yes I am. Patronizing? Fine, if that’s how you feel. Some of you refer to e-cigarettes as smoking, so….we’re not on the same page. Work on that.

lies

Some reporters are obviously too stupid or unable to put two sentences together coherently, they string a reader along by almost always starting off by describing an e-cigarette. Most of it is “expert copy & paste skills” from what I see. Regurgitating the same thing over and over and over again…. each article seems to have a theme.

nnn

Requirements, evidently, for being a piss-poor journalist:

Mention gateways and children, but rarely mention “the children“.

Mention flavors, but rarely mention that “adults like flavors”.

Mention nicotine is addictive but never mentions “nicotine“.

Mention approved methods, but don’t show “those methods aren’t as successful“.

Mention chemicals, but rarely mention “Chemicals“.

Mention health benefits, but never mention “health benefits

Mention we don’t know enough, but never mention that “Research is available here and here.”.

Mention laws, taxes & bans using the above descriptions but NEVER mention the truth on “Regulations, Restrictions, Taxes, Bans“.

Mention experts are on the fence about e-cigarettes, but have never talked to people on or along “experts on this side of that fence“.

They almost NEVER mention reaching out to talk to ANY organization.

journalism

Research, in journalism  – or at least this type of journalism isn’t acceptable to the public.

They rarely retract a story, when they do it’s barely mentioned in unrelated news or withOUT fanfare like the original story was bled to death.

Almost incessantly they will either allow comments until they don’t like them, will not allow certain comments, will delete them all or not allow them to begin with.

They LOVE exploding batteries. Here’s Christopher Russell on that:

These wannabe’s take objectivity out, add in a five-gallon bucket of drivel, DON’T check facts, add in their own stupidity and use scary words like toxins – and makes a half-assed story go full ass.

(*Thank you, Alan)

dailypropaganda

According to Wikipedia-(a source evidently not concerned with standards in facts):

Journalism has developed a variety of ethics and standards. While objectivity and a lack of bias are of primary concern and importance, more liberal types of journalism, such as advocacy journalism and activism, intentionally adopt a non-objective viewpoint. This has become more prevalent with the advent of social media and blogs, as well as other platforms that are used to manipulate or sway social and political opinions and policies. These platforms often project extreme bias, as “sources” are not always held accountable or considered necessary in order to produce a written, televised or otherwise “published” end product.

Fergus Mason has his view of

Wikipedia, and why it matters.

 n

Please, keep in mind  -whether you are the largest major news corporation or the smallest, I AM talking to YOU.

Do as you wish, “journalists”. Follow the pack, parasites. Keep going with your “hard-hitting” fluff that your friends admire. You must be proud of that degree in typing.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

~Joseph Goebbels

There’s something controversial coming soon. It’s going to sting. This information you’re going to see in this trailer isn’t a secret. It may show that you are truly inept at research, that you are unwilling or unable to use your alleged education in journalism, or you’re just plain stupid. This could have been your story.

You, and all who have “Plausible Deniability” or who are “experts in tobacco control” might want to be attentive to this video from A Billion Lives.

It is a documentary about lies. Media, Government, Pharmaceuticals, Health and more. You know… all of you who should be paying attention instead of lying your full asses off…. or you may get da ishonorable mention in this.

Here are just some of the unedited comments  “Real People ~ Real Answers” from the latest survey, unedited on question #34:

What is your opinion on reports you’ve seen in the media ?

Tired of seeing ‘know nothing asshats’ pretending to be experts on vaping.
Tuesday, Oct 6th 5:24AM

A lot of media coverage on this is made by people who have not done their research.
Wednesday, Sep 23rd 8:18AM

It’s a mix in the UK these days
Wednesday, Sep 9th 12:29AM

Media used to relay the facts, today they only care about what sells. They have clearly taken a side before any interviews have started, some have affiliations with other companies or political views and stick to that no matter what truth is presented to them.

The honest truth should be shown on ALL media outlets, they should not be allowed to have a bias in any direction, the facts are what are important.
Sunday, Aug 16th 3:11AM

I tend to look for articles on ecigs and see many that talk about benefits and share them with others, but my sources are usually ecig positive, and I ignore the negative media reports from outside my sphere.
Saturday, Aug 8th 3:07PM

It seems hard to find legit studies and information that prove or disprove anything. More independent studies from sources that are not affiliated with smoking or vaping would be nice to see.
Sunday, Aug 2nd 8:00PM

The reports filled with blatant lies against vapor products were making me angry, so I stopped reading/watching them.
Those that are lying should be held responsible.
Saturday, Aug 1st 7:59PM

i find the media headlines negative aspects of vaping and e cigarettes way over the top. E cigarette and battery fires, exploding batteries etc are usually due to lack of knowledge and misuse.  Any battery powered device can a do explode, set on fire etc, but the media don’t report these instances the same way they do with e cigarettes.
Friday, Jul 31st 6:56PM

The amount of biased/ill informed propaganda circulating both in media and on social network is, in my opinion, disgraceful!
Thursday, Jul 30th 2:03PM

To the last point “I’ve seen more experts than can possibly exist” it’s more like “experts”. People who let others think they know what they are talking about
Wednesday, Jul 29th 9:50AM

I have seen news which are made up to make e cig sounds bad, but truly it has nothing to do with e cig.
Tuesday, Jul 28th 3:02PM

The media know fuck all and need to a few lessons in vaping!
Monday, Jul 27th 12:59PM

i have seen and heard way too many lies by people who are “experts” saying that its bad and targeting kids. i want them to support vaping rather than trying to get rid of the only actual effective way to quit smoking
Sunday, Jul 26th 4:30PM

most of the reports are outrageous and test the vaping device at levels that no person would actually use it at, because at those levels you no longer have the actual taste of the e liquid you have nothing but a burnt taste
Sunday, Jul 26th 1:11AM

The never ending saga of a biased media and their sheeple.
Saturday, Jul 25th 11:55AM

its unballanced and there is too much scaremungering going on from very ignorant people
Wednesday, Jul 22nd 8:47AM

Big tobacco money talks
Tuesday, Jul 21st 11:52AM

It is very confusing trying to figure out what is information from real studies or reliable sources as opposed to what is made up on a non fact based opinion. That goes for both positive and negative information. I have stopped reading anything because I don’t know what to trust is from an accurate source
Sunday, Jul 19th 10:45AM

It seems only the sensationalist, biased reports get the big headlines!
Sunday, Jul 19th 11:12AM

The media is attracted to negative stories.

From memory, there are 10 million smokers in the UK and 2.6M vapers. Of the vapers about 1M don’t dual use. I’m sure there’s plenty that don’t do either now. There needs to be a Panorama-type program to tell the good news truth about vaping and the money and power behind FDA and EU bans.
Wednesday, Jul 15th 6:33PM

The propaganda is profoundly intellectually dishonest & scientifically incorrect.
Wednesday, Jul 15th 9:37AM

Most of what is out there is propoganda and when there is the side of vaping shown (pro vaping) it is far too often denounced. There are reports that show vaping honesty but they are few and far between because the govt does not want vaping to be seen as a good thing
Monday, Jul 13th 4:45PM

Junk science that is published them later pulled is stupid and irresponsable once it’s out there people believe it’s gotta be true when it isn’t
Monday, Jul 13th 2:11PM

There a a few unbiased reports out there, but most are fear-mongering.
Monday, Jul 13th 1:27PM

In the UK, I’ve seen both positive and negative coverage. But in the US it’s much worse, probably because of those vested interests. I do object to pharma companies putting signs in GPs offices saying ‘Don’t vape, stop smoking for good’ as it’s likely to put people off vaping. Vaping can save lives so why tell people not to do it? Insane.
Monday, Jul 13th 11:54AM

Heard some ridiculous stories. Battery safety is down to users, same as of you use a mobile phone, I have yet to meet anyone who has had anything more than a slight reaction to the pg. They simply used a Lewis worth more vg.

Monday, Jul 13th 3:30AM

Much of the media coverage (print and broadcast) reminds me of reports from the 80s and 90s suggesting that violent video games, television and rock music were responsible for teenagers committing serious crimes. Responsibility is being thrust on industry, rather than on parents, which is borderline atrocious

Sunday, Jul 12th 5:12PM

Very seldom do I see fair balanced reporting on the subject and when I see articles they are usually biased and slanted against Vaping and are chock full of misinformation and propaganda. The only fair and balanced information I have seen have been from the vaping industry itself.

Sunday, Jul 12th 2:33PM

This is true of a lot of the reports on the news, but I have seen lots of good studies done by professionals based on REAL SCIENCE and accurate reporting standards. I would never say vaping is 100% safe, but some of the reports on the news are just irresponsible and dissuade people from switching from stinkies, when they aren’t even true.

Sunday, Jul 12th 2:15PM

The real issue is the indoctrination the media has both received and repeated for the last 50 years from anti-smoking lobbies. It is because of this that all consumer nicotine products are demonized, regardless of potential benefit.

Saturday, Jul 11th 6:43PM

There have been both sides of reports on vaping, depends on who is making the statement in the perticular article, I’m sure there will be debates for quite some time, I could care less, I smoked about 40 years , now I vape, I think it was a smart choice for me, I’m not concerned about health issues cause it can’t be worse than smoking, either way I’m apparently not going to live for ever , I’m pretty smart, smart enough to try vaping and get off cigarettes.

Saturday, Jul 11th 2:57AM

The impact of what is reported is much more detrimental to those who don’t know any better or TRUST the media.

That’s why I’m here.

If I had relied on media reports for information I would have been too concerned with the long term safety of e-cigarette use to try them and I would still be smoking today.

Stop Smoking. The Monkey On Your Back.

Stop Smoking. The monkey on your back.

To stop smoking is a personal journey. It is also a personal choice. You alone are trying to stop smoking. Experts have advice on what smoking can do to you.

They are informative! Statistics of what is bad about smoking at their fingertips – reasons why smoking is bad – all kinds of stats and figures!

They are MORE THAN WILLING to give their assistance.

They are the professionals……

They are tobacco control experts.

Or are they?

They tout smoking related diseases. Health issues, common sense. Then, they point directly to an “approved method” that you have little to no chance for success in using.

Nicotine reduction!!!

USE the APPROVED methods, they SCREAM! Why are they approved if they DON’T have a great success rate? Take your MEDICINE!

Why are the methods approved not showing their success rate? You think, with all the hype about how approved they are, they’d say they were “70%” successful – pick a number – in helping people with tobacco harm reduction.

Wouldn’t you?

Smoking bans started just about the same time the patch was coming out…. no conflict of interest there.

Part of what prompted this specific blog was something I read from someone I admire about relapsing.

It seems the tobacco control expert world wants you to quit – but with low success rates on “methods”, relapses are imminent, very real, and continue to haunt smokers who really are trying to quit.

With e-cigarettes, relapsing isn’t so much of a thing…

Alan has a great insight about relapsing here.

Relapse Prevention

Why – with technology & science, aren’t they making the “approved” methods successful? Why do they blame the smoker when it doesn’t work? Because it’s a multitude of BUSINESS! It’s the see-saw effect! 🙂

They like MONEY, they want you to keep smoking!

They know they have smokers in a vicious smokescreen.

E-Cigarettes WORK. They just don’t want you to believe it. They have motive.

They want you to keep smoking.

Below are just 50 unedited quotes from the latest survey on what other methods they tried.

Had two long periods without smoking, about 1,5 years. but fell back. Both with cold turkey, other options did not work for me.
Thursday, Oct 8th 5:13PM

I tried everything I could get my hands on to quit. Longest I ever made it was about a month and then it was back to smoking again.
Thursday, Oct 8th 11:23AM

I’ve tried al lot of differnt ways to quit smoking, non of them helped me quit until I switched to vaping instead of smoking. I am now free of smoking and nicotine, and I’m completely happy with it!!
Thursday, Oct 8th 3:13AM

Tried to stop smoking several times over many years. I used patches, gum and champix. None of these methods seemed to have any advantage over cold-turkey stopping; they just seem to prolong the nicotine withdrawal phase.
Wednesday, Oct 7th 3:52PM

Nothing worked for me except pregnancy but as soon as I left the hospital I started smoking again. Since I started vaping i haven’t ever and don’t want to ever smoke again!!
Wednesday, Oct 7th 12:08AM

i also tried the supermarket bought BluCig style E-cig
Thursday, Oct 1st 9:22PM

Sadly, all failed.
Sunday, Sep 27th 11:51AM

I managed to stop smoking for 3 months from using Chantix. But I did not like the side effects. The tablets upset my stomach and I would occasionally suffer vomiting. I also had trouble sleeping and had scary vivid dreams.
Saturday, Sep 26th 3:39AM

Tried gum and cold turkey, but immediately knew that they were not gonna work. Vaping worked basically from day 1, it changed my life.
Thursday, Sep 24th 1:58PM

I started with an ecig 4 weeks ago
Wednesday, Sep 23rd 11:29AM

again, none of that worked and plenty of it was downright scary. The Chantix made me have horrible anger issues, nightmares, insomnia, memory loss/lost time…patches left permanent square scar on my shoulder due to an allergy to the adhesive and caused night sweats and nightmares…Blu cigalikes were stupidly high nicotine and made me vomit from too much nicotine at once and not nearly enough vapor to create a feeling of smoking. Plus they tasted horrible.
Wednesday, Sep 23rd 8:02AM

i tried to quit with gum, inhaler, cold turkey and with snus
Wednesday, Sep 23rd 12:20AM

I quit tobacco three times, each episode in excess of 3 months, but never longer than 6 months. I always wound up going back.
Sunday, Sep 20th 10:16AM

Patches and gum kept me away from smoking about three weeks at the most. It didn’t help much, and was by far to expencive
Monday, Sep 14th 2:54AM

I used Wellbutrin & it worked great & I stopped smoking cigarettes but it gave me seizures so I had to discontinue & eventually started smoking again. So far the only way that I’ve stayed tobacco free is through Vaping.
Sunday, Sep 13th 4:21PM

Lack of cash. was the biggest motivator to give up but that never lasted longer than 4 weeks.
Wednesday, Aug 26th 10:05AM

Nothing worked, some where down right dangerous, Champix for instance.
Thursday, Aug 20th 5:18PM

The longest I went using these methods was 12 months cold turkey. I gained 10kg in weight and was miserable the whole year.
Saturday, Aug 15th 7:23PM

Nothing worked. Nothing.
Saturday, Aug 15th 7:13AM

Hypnosis is garbage. Wanted a cigarette as soon as i left.
Tuesday, Aug 11th 7:10PM

Most times when I quit it was half heartedly. I loved smoking and will always consider myself a smoker
Saturday, Aug 8th 10:44AM

I couldn’t even quit smoking when I was pregnant. They put me on the patch post delivery of my first child, and after three days in the hospital I was ‘chomping at the bit’ to have a cigarette once I was released.
Friday, Aug 7th 11:05AM

I quit for 2 weeks using the Almanac. They used to say to quit smoking. It is the same as weaning your kids. I read How to quit smoking by Alan Carr and put the cigarettes down and got serious about vaping.
Monday, Aug 3rd 6:28PM

All other methods were hopeless/useless and champax made me homicidal
Monday, Aug 3rd 4:43PM

I tried Chantix but it affected my mood in a negative way so I quit taking it after 2-3 weeks.
Sunday, Aug 2nd 8:43PM

Tried quitting a few times, was successful once for about a year, then went back to smoking again!
Monday, Aug 3rd 4:25AM

American Lung Cancer’s Freedom from Smoking class. It was pretty stupid.
Sunday, Aug 2nd 11:11AM

All but vaping failed
Sunday, Aug 2nd 8:03AM

Fuck all worked! Just sayin…
Monday, Jul 27th 12:59PM

Managed to quit for two years using gum; then made the fatal mistake of thinking I could just have one socially!!!

Monday, Jul 27th 6:06AM

I was never a heavy smoker unless I was drinking so quitting was purely a mental thing.
Monday, Jul 27th 3:30AM

None ever worked besides vaping…
Sunday, Jul 26th 10:49PM

none of the methods i tried worked and i was allergic to the patches
Sunday, Jul 26th 4:30PM

None of these ever satisfied my urge to smoke. A lot of it for me is the hand to mouth action of smoking!!
Sunday, Jul 26th 7:16AM

I tried to quit so many times! It was stressful and very expensive! Vapeing made it so easy, I bought my vape and a day later I tried to smoke and they (cigarettes) tasted terrible! And I smoked a lot! Two packs a day sometimes! It was like a miracle.

Saturday, Jul 25th 11:24PM

Chantix (wellbutrin) turned me into a complete asshat
Saturday, Jul 25th 10:50PM

Chantix good lord! I tried twice with that garbage.
Saturday, Jul 25th 11:55AM

Vaping is by far has given me the best result
Friday, Jul 24th 7:11PM

NONE of them worked, but Vaping helped me IMMEDIATELY. three years cigarette free!
Friday, Jul 24th 7:01PM

Even after a colon cancer surgery that put me out of work for 8 months while I recovered and went through chemotherapy I couldn’t quit smoking. Vaping is the only thing that’s been able to keep me off lit tobacco.
Thursday, Jul 23rd 4:01PM

most of these products are very nasty i even tried patches but ended up smoking while wearing them
Wednesday, Jul 22nd 8:47AM

After having quit (cold turkey) for 2 years, I resumed smoking, because of negative health effects (overweight causing short breath, cholesterol, mood disorders). Restarting smoking restored my health (although I knew it was only temporary). Fortunately, I discovered vaping, and my health problems are now cleared.
Monday, Jul 20th 10:17AM

I tried everything but, always said that if I found the right product I could replace the tobacco.
Sunday, Jul 19th 1:05PM

Until I started vaping I was not able to cut back on cigarettes. Even after 5 heart attacks. Doctor have told me I am not a candidate for bypass since it is only 1 artery that they have had to stent. Even after quitting I have had another heart attack but the good part is I was not having to use oxygen the whole time I was in the hospital like before. My doctor has no problem with me vaping. All I can do is keep changing my lifestyle and get to the hospital ASAP when the symptoms appear. I have been cigarette free for approximately 8 months now. Yes, I have had cravings for a cigarette and when I am around a smoker I think I have asked for a drag a couple of times. Once I taste the nastiness I have no problem walking away now.
Sunday, Jul 19th 10:56AM

I have tried everything offered to me I could never completely stop. Always cut down and eventually just picked all the way back up
Sunday, Jul 19th 10:45AM

I am often negatively impacted by pharmaceutical drugs so was afraid to use any of the prescription methods.
Sunday, Jul 19th 11:12AM

NOTHING WORKED – 2 – 3 days of hell then back to smoking
Sunday, Jul 19th 9:50AM

None of this garbage worked. The cycle of smoking held a death grip.
Sunday, Jul 19th 8:54AM

I tried to cut down cigarettes but never tried to stop, till i found vaping
Sunday, Jul 19th 1:49AM

I quit smoking tobacco three times: twice for 6 month stretches and once for an entire year. Each time was extremely difficult when I was around other smokers or occasional smokers.
Saturday, Jul 18th 11:10PM

Here’s the thing. If those other methods WORKED for those CHOOSING to quit by whatever prompted them – then that would be great.

When they KNOW they don’t really work and don’t want to talk about it, wouldn’t you find it imperative, according to their own agenda, instead of their own ulterior motives,  that any form of less smoking is better? When will they embrace it? When will the “in charge”  have integrity?

E-cigarettes work. If they wanted to reduce tobacco consumption, without question, they would with e-cigarettes.

When the experts on tobacco control who cannot seem to step up, take the responsibility to the PUBLIC and stop the lies, then there will be less tobacco use in the world.

These Medical Professionals do.

Instead of complaining, pretending, lying and misconstruing facts, grow up.

25 Years & Fairy Tales, E-cigarettes, Tobacco Control & Children!

children

Tobacco or health. It’s a battle I myself have fought – smoked over 30 years. The choice to smoke cigarettes is a personal one. There are people who want to end that choice, and seem to be on a mission.

Please, for your sake, don’t get your panties in a bunch. Breathe if you can. There’s actually no worries right now. Don’t believe their claims of urgency. It’s not THAT important. In fact, smoke ’em if you’ve got them ~there is plenty of time.

That’s right, plenty of time.  There’s no need to rush the tobacco stores, no need to stockpile. For goodness sake, you don’t need to find a video on youtube on how to grow your own tobacco – there will be plenty to go around, and experts are assuring us of that!

As a matter of fact, I wouldn’t worry at ALL. They’re not sure about e-cigarettes either…. so you’ve got at least another 25 years according to recent “leading” public health since there’s an invigorating turbo-charged effort.

An Article in The Lancet has stated :

“Leading public health researchers call for the sale of tobacco to be phased out by 2040……with sufficient political support and stronger evidence-based action against the tobacco industry, a tobacco-free world – where less than 5% of adults use tobacco – could be possible in less than three decades“.

“could be possible”  ????    Are you serious? Is this a bad joke??? I thought this was important.

“with a call on the United Nations (UN) to lead a “turbo-charged” effort against the sale and consumption of tobacco”.

How long will this turbo-charged effort take? Well… 2040 is the turbo-charged goal? “~~possible in LESS than three decades”… there, that sounded better. THAT’S A GOAL?

I don’t have my handy-dandy calculator, and I’m not a very smart man, but that’s 25 years. If my son had a child today, that child will have graduated college and started his or her life – and about a year later, could be a part of world where 5% of the population may still be using tobacco… that’s the BEST these “angry” world health experts can come up with? The efforts to end tobacco isn’t new, is it? Tax dollars go to campaigns to “curb” tobacco every day.

This is the best they can do, and they’re health and tobacco control leaders?

The 16th annual World Conference on Tobacco or Health, chaired by W.H.O.’s Dr Douglas Bettcher and Dr Vera Da Costa e Silva,  has given it’s stance on tobacco here in this link.

They have this incredibly urgent goal to end tobacco as we know it. Evidently, combustible tobacco must go and this article states that

“The *contentious issue of e-cigarettes or ENDs [electronic nicotine delivery systems] was tackled in several sessions at this week’s  World Conference on Tobacco or Health”……..

*Dictionary alert: “contentious definition”

1:  likely to cause disagreement or argument <a contentious issue>
2:  exhibiting an often perverse and wearisome tendency to quarrels and disputes

Why is it likely to cause disagreement or argument? Are you people STUPID?

Do you want tobacco to go away or not? It’s not complicated…

You mentioned  “Aggressive marketing of ENDs by the tobacco industry whose campaigns target children and young people” and I’ll get to that, but I’m trying to stay focused here, people……….

“more research into the potential harms and public health benefits of e-cigarettes is urgently needed.”

“Both panels agreed that combustion of tobacco is an obsolete process, that marketing of these ENDs to young people should be banned, and that more research into the potential harms and public health benefits of e-cigarettes is urgently needed.”

Are you kidding me? Urgently needed research??? On e-cigarettes??? Have some of you been hiding under a big pile of…cash?

Research: E-Cigarette Research

RESPONSIBLE Medical Professionals; Researchers, Scientists, Doctors, Nurses, Health Professionals are at M.O.V.E.

Both of these articles are wonderful. They lead you to believe they can’t do it. Let me explain something. Less than 10 years would be an acceptable goal. Both reasonable, with the new fangled technology called an “e-cigarette”… AND I have no reason to believe that 10 years is not reachable. Anything more is stalling for time and unacceptable.

Contribution and support by ANYONE to a 25 year goal can only lead anyone smart enough to put their pants on that

when they say goal, they mean revenue.

Revenue for themselves in funding, research, taxes, and for their silent partners; corporate partners… pharmaceuticals, governments, tobacco, and health. It’s not about health. It’s not about goals. It’s about revenue and how they’re going to prolong that and how they’ll get away with it, that’s the goal……

These people make money from tobacco. Ironically, funding research for tobacco is nothing new. Neither is treating sick people. What have they been doing since the 1960’s??? Playing tiddlywinks? Crossing fingers?

Backroom deals. Looking the other way.

Your path as a smoker is paved with money for them. You smoke. Tobacco company profits. Insurance companies profit. The tax revenue is rolling in for anyone in tobacco control as well…………..

You want to quit? Pharmaceutical companies have product for that. Most have a low rate of success, but that’s ok. You’re led to believe it’s YOU. Try harder. You’ll feel guilt or sickness eventually… you’ll come back.

You get sick? Too bad…. cough – cough up some money….

Health care providers & pharmaceutical companies profit because you need medicine.

You get really sick? Cancer? Well… they told you so, didn’t you listen to the anti-tobacco ads? Now you’re costing the world money. Lets face it, you’re a number. You’re not THAT important. The government likes statistics. They thrive on numbers. You statistic, you.

Like my Father & Grandmother, they became statistics by default. Lung cancer. I miss them dearly, would give anything to have them on either side of me now, and would loved to have them alive to see these days and stupidity.

This fight is becoming rougher to fight and I need “good people” to help.

New technology, new rules. Old guard. The way of the world. Status quo. These aren’t your average battles. These aren’t your average troubles. The technology is here. The research is here.

Public health will distort a story and create a false campaign and lies big enough that the masses will believe it,  and something needs to be DONE. Not what can we do, so I need someone to tell me what needs to be DONE. I’m working on that….. but it’s not working………….so:

fairy talesIn 25 years, I’ll be 72. Damn, there’s an eye opening moment….

Which leads me to fairy tales and children. The effect on children is a common war-cry of the “experts”. I must point out that parenting skills are obviously at an all time low in this country. First of all, if children can buy cigarettes, they can buy anything. Those are well within the market. If you’re against e-cigarettes, you’re an idiot if you’re in public health, politics  or any position with a title and don’t understand that this is not tobacco – and if you can’t see why this IS about children, you need to move on

You aren’t thinking of the children. That’s your facade. That’s your war cry. That’s because you have nothing else to garner support. The list of irresponsibility in public health gets bigger and longer as the lies progress. I hear class action lawsuits are brewing to have these false claims cease & desist – you are infringing upon health. You are infringing upon rights. I’ll go with my short list for now:

Senator Barbara Boxer. A Senator. In Cali? Where the MSA funds are WAY overspent? No ulterior motives there.

Dr. Kevin Campbell. Plays a doctor on T.V. – likes to discuss “dangers” but doesn’t discuss, gives opinion and needs more time. Likes ratings.

Professor Glantz. NOT a doctor. NOT an expert, claims he’s a tobacco control expert. Loves attention.

Roger Bezanis, Not a doctor – but eludes to being one. Takes photos of sick people, claims they are vapers and loves fruits and smacking himself in the head with frying pans.I’m not sure I spelled his name right – maybe it’s Beavis, as in butthead.

Judy Judd. Not a doctor. Not an expert. Tobacco control, apparently.

Dr. Charles J Bentz Thinks he’s a doctor, evidently now a “guest” writer.

ALL of you above are against something that takes people away from tobacco. Why aren’t your efforts heavily and completely focused on tobacco? Guilty by association, I can only presume you want people to smoke and like spewing drivel… dripping down your chins…. you irresponsible greedy self-indulgent pricks. You’re not thinking of children. Define slander.

I’m not sure what kind of fairy tales I’ll tell my first grandchild and how the story will end, but I’ll peer into the future for a moment.

How it may go:

Grandpa, did you smoke? Yes I did, but I found a way to stop without any detrimental effects after trying many other ways that didn’t work with what they called an e-cigarette- it was amazing – electronic – you can probably find my blog if they haven’t censored it yet on the internet… it was the “vaping truth”…… It was around a while, no troubles… as irresponsible “experts”, officials and governments started seeing what was going on, pointed out by greedy corporations and self-indulgent lobbyists, they took control of it by first saying it was bad, then by regulating it, then taxing it, then ultimately banning and continuing to control it. I couldn’t access it and by what they said, it was worse than tobacco, so I just went back to smoking… Listen, if you never hear another word from me, please know that I hope you never start smoking, you’ll end up like me. Helpless and on oxygen.

How I hope it goes:

Grandpa, did you smoke? Yes I did, but I found a way to stop without any detrimental effects after trying many other ways that didn’t work. Your father saw my struggle and thankfully never smoked, but witnessed my struggle and ultimately my success with what was called an e-cigarette. That struggle of trying to quit led him to understand that he shouldn’t smoke. I found a way to stop and thankfully there were responsible experts & authorities who had the nerve to stand up to very powerful people, governments & corporations, recognizing that the e-cigarette is an amazing technological tool for millions. Your Great-Grandfather didn’t live to see it, but would have embraced it.

It sounds good to say “endgame”…. but really it’s not an endgame. It’s just a game. Lives are at stake, and 25 years is much too long to entrust this responsibility of millions of lives with irresponsible people.

Please, give Clive Bates an honest visit to get his points on the tobacco endgame. In 25 years, I hope I can portray my thoughts 1/25th as well as he does:

The tobacco endgame – a critical review of the policy ideas

California public health, you tried again with your #stillblowingsmoke campaign…… face it, you’re still supporting smoking! (well you’re supporting your own $$$ revenue habit by misleading the public).

You have an ad with CHILDREN vaping in it???? How responsible…. you’re still wasting hard earned MSA tax dollars. What will those supporters think this time knowing you’ve spent 75 MILLION dolllars  and it’s all gone up in smoke?

Smokers are breathing better when they switch to e-cigarettes. What will the media tell you in the 3 minute snippet of breaking news about e-cigarettes? They tell you very little.

There are very real and very measurable results and changes to these people experienced, in their own words with vaping. I’d call it immeasurable. I’d call it life changing. I’d say beyond anecdotal. I’d simply call this proof.

Some people vape because they quit smoking or using tobacco for varied reasons. Some do both.

I did a search for “medication” and have listed just a few of these answers found in one question from the Vaping Truth Survey, in the respondents own words:

Question #7. Health benefits you’ve noticed since vaping?

• I have been able to stop anti anxiety medication, I feel much calmer than jonsing for a smoke every 30 mins, I am calm and can go a few hours without anything right now.

  • No shortness of breath at all.”

• no more asthma medication needed

• Bronchitis symptoms disappeared within a week of transitioning. My allergies have been virtually nonexistent. And the nicotine helps prevent my migraines without prescription medication.

• I have asthma, and have stopped taking my daily asthma medication, and barely use my ‘rescue’ albuterol inhaler.

• I have asthma and was always tight in my chest. I always felt like someone was sitting on it, since vaping I have full capacity back and no medications. I feel wonderful actually.

• Cholesterol dropped from 430 to 280 (w/o medication), stamina greatly increased, lost all indications of period (previously treated for 10 years), total loss of angina events

• I could stop my asthma medications

• I haven’t seek any medical care in over a year. When I was a smoker, I was at the Dr’s every year for medications due to asthmatic bronchitis – not one issue with bronchitis since vaping. I don’t cough anymore and I am breathing very well these days – no shortness of breath at all.

• I am suffering from chronical astma bronchitis. Before I saterted vaping, I used three different types of steroid medication, three times a day, just to be able to breath normally. Now, after several month of vaping, I am down to only one medication, once a day.

• I still use a CPAP through the night but my consultant says my readings have improved greatly (he is unaware that I Vape) My blood pressure has change to “very good” since I swapped to vaping and I have not taken any medication for high blood pressure or statins since March 2013.

• As i said before i got bad astma and ive been without medication 1yr and my medicines where 700€ per 3months

• Since starting vaping and quitting smoking: my blood pressure has never been lower (still on medication, but high blood pressure runs in my family)

• feel in better condition, especially when climbing 8 flights of stairs – wouldn’t have got halfway without a rest when I was a smoker

• -not one migraine since switching to vaping – had migraines on average every 8 -10 weeks since menopause

UPDATED 8/20/16

Fewer lung infections from the Roswell Institute:

“Those who switch completely to e-cigarettes may reduce their cancer risk, research team says”

New Roswell Park/UCSF Study: Smokers Who Switch to E-Cigarettes Exposed to Same Levels of Nicotine, Lower Carcinogen Levels

Better lung function from PubMed:

“High prevalence of cough/phlegm (43.1%) and shortness of breath (34.8%) was reported at baseline with substantial reduction in their frequency at subsequent follow-up visits. These symptoms virtually disappeared very quickly in both quitters and reducers”.

Lung function and respiratory symptoms in a randomized smoking cessation trial of electronic cigarettes.

You don’t have to believe the media. These people were telling the truth all on their own.
