NGO’s Can’t Quit Lying

While we’re still waiting on President Trump to make decisions on banning flavors of less harmful products, or keeping them on the market, the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO’s) posing as “public health” have no real interest in the health of the public, are politically and financially motivated. They can’t quit lying, and have completely lost their minds.

Credibility and trust is lost

Can they quit lying? I didn’t think I’d have to use their own words against them, but I personally tracked down, quoted, and linked the hard to find (often halfhearted but necessary to voice – just to cover their asses) these comments and positions of these NGO’s and government officials for a reason. THR4Life also took the time explaining to consumers the positions of many of these organizations in a blog called “What consumers need to know“.

WHO will hold these NGO’s accountable?

They KNOW better: E-Cigarettes Are Saving Lives

They KNOW better: Public Health Consequences of E-Cigarettes

Questionable motive

Now, some have chosen to lose their comprehension of less harm and replace it with fear and hysteria, and here we are.

If it were about smoking and public health, NGO’s would take advantage of the all-time (13.7%) lowest smoking rates EVER by supporting (and making public perception better) the less harmful alternatives like snus and vaping products. Instead, not only are NGO’s lying, they’re telling small businesses (and consumers like you and me) to quit lying. Doing so is misleading the public. Period.

THC deaths and illnesses gave them their only advantage to confuse the public lie to the public with malice. With that, they stretched the lies further by pointing directly at “youth” initiation, and directly blame flavors (and marketing) for something anyone under 18 (21 in some states) are illegally purchasing.

Quit Lying.

It is they who cannot quit lying. In the quest to flip their narrative, irresponsible tactics of NGO’s have completely ignoredsubstantial and immediate benefits” of Harm Minimization with less harmful products like snus and vaping products.

They are using their influence to lie to the public (consumers who need proper information) and ultimately – the world.

When will they quit lying?

They’ve consistently justified “keeping potential consumers of legal products ignorant about this information” and withheld differential risks of less harmful products.

American Heart Association

The American Heart Association (AHA) decided to start a campaign called “Quit Lying” last week – including what I considered a wonderful hashtag.

I’ll let Dr. Brad Rodu explain the hypocrisy of the political front group no, that’s not it. Body parts no, that’s not it either… oh yeah, the AHA’s actions here:

Open Letter to the American Heart Association: #QuitLying

American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society has revised their position by saying “The revision seeks to clarify ACS guidelines in light of recent spikes in e-cigarette use among youth and young adults, combined with the lack of regulation by the FDA.”

Noted:

Cliff Douglas (below) is “VP for Tobacco Control, American Cancer Society, and faculty, University of Michigan School of Public Health.”

I’m not sure if he had a moment of clarity or guilt, but I give him crap when he’s being obstinate, so I’ll give him kudos for tweeting this today.

The article he linked isn’t bad, either.

American Medical Association

Now it seems thousands of members of another NGO, the American Medical Association ( I can’t technically call this political front group a “body parts organization”)

So – thousands of medical professionals suddenly can’t seem to recognize the difference between clearly tainted, illegal products, and less harmful alternatives because they are “not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as smoking cessation tools”?

Influential U.S. doctors group calls for ban on vaping products

Note: The American Lung Association has never stated anything positive about vaping products to my knowledge.

I noticed around 2014 – if a “public health” official’s lips are moving, they’re probably lying. They’ve never stopped.

In light of Trump wanting the industry to be taxed $100 million a year, (that CONSUMERS will incur) and the uncertainly of who the “diverse group of advocacy, industry, non-profits, medical associations, and state officials” President Trump is meeting with on Friday, can we trust Trump with the heavy influence of NGO’s above?

Between saying flavors will be banned, cancelling meetings with the Office of Budget and Management, the D.C. rally on the White House lawn, THOUSANDS of tweets like #WeVapeWeVote and #15Sec4Vape , letters, phone calls to the White House – and pressure from other sources, will Trump come to his senses?

This was tweeted while writing this blog

It seems there WILL be opportunity to change the conversation… Jim McDonald covers that here:

“That means the independent vaping industry and consumers will be represented at the meeting.”

AVA’s Conley, VTA’s Abboud Will Attend White House Meeting Friday

After all, if consumers don’t have a voice at OUR table, I ask government to enforce the current laws, parents to parent their children and leave adults alone.

Teen vapers are using eBay to dodge age restrictions – And cigarettes, too

Imagine the ability of children™ to illegally obtain things they are not legally allowed to possess purchase. We can’t blame eBay alone, I’m sure there are parents who are unaware of secret groups and sites all over the internet to gain access to illegal things. Illegally.

Vaping In The News – September 15th, 2018

Vaping In The News covers media stories on smoking, vaping, snus, heat not burn, e-cigarettes, exposing tobacco control, public health, government, regulations, policies and more worldwide.

“The largest threat to Public Health is an informed consumer.”

FDA Hands Vaping a Blow, Sends Tobacco a Save ~ FDA Ought to Reconsider Stance on Youth Vaping ~ Scott Gottlieb ~ Vaping, Vultures and Cars ~ Steps to address a non-existent problem ~ All people like better products. Teenagers are people ~ Vapor Technology Association (VTA) Response ~ American Vaping Association (AVA) Response ~ Fontem Ventures respond to FDA statement ~ Tobacco Stocks ~ Survey ~ Hand Check

Make no mistake, Dr. Gottlieb has threatened consumers who have found a healthier, smoke-free, safer alternative to smoking.

Consumers, and the entire industry ARE at risk.

Along with “experts” in public health, politicians, “health” groups and media, Tobacco-Free Kids has manipulated the public campaign (and the market) for months.

Dr. Gottlieb finally responded in their favor by saying “The FDA has unpublished preliminary data that shows a 75 percent increase in e-cigarette use among high school students this year compared with 2017″ and threatening (primarily) Vuse, Blu, JUUL, MarkTen XL, and Logic.

These brands specifically are – evidently – keeping “youth” from smoking cigarettes.

FDA Hands Vaping a Blow, Sends Tobacco a Save

Consumer group Tobacco Harm Reduction 4 Life  is questioning the integrity of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Dr. Gottleib – or lack thereof.  Here is that respons to Dr. Gottlieb’s ultimatum.

(Full disclosure: I am a member of the board of THR4Life.)

Carl makes a bold statement: Teenagers are people. Therefore….

“discouraging teenage vaping probably encourages teenage smoking”

All people like better products. Teenagers are people. Therefore…

Vapor Technology Association (VTA) Response

“Unfortunately, FDA and Commissioner Gottlieb took a giant step backwards against the best interest of public health. By threatening an industry – and technology that millions of adult smokers are successfully using to reduce or quit smoking deadly cigarettes–FDA is venturing into dangerous territory.”

Vapor Technology Association (VTA) Responds to FDA’s Announcement

American Vaping Association (AVA) Response

“It is absolutely absurd and a perversion of how regulatory agencies are supposed to approach their work.”

I had a chance to see, learn, understand and listen to some of the best in the country.

Here are my hand checks from that event.

As you can tell, I’m pretty proud.

Alice in TobaccoLand.

aliceintobaccoland

According to Wikipedia, Tobacco control “is a field of international public health science, policy and practice dedicated to addressing tobacco use and thereby reducing the morbidity and mortality it causes”.

Let me break that down.

Public health science.  It also says practice.

Dedicated to addressing tobacco use via public health science, policy and practice.

Thereby reducing morbidity and mortality it causes.

It says mortality, not morality.

If the morality on vaping products doesn’t cease, the mortalities will continue.

Down the rabbit hole.

There are hundreds of organizations dedicated to addressing tobacco use. Those organizations are normally funded, among other things, by tobacco use. The Master Settlement Agreement, taxes, government grants and funding by pharmaceuticals trying convincing researchers to see “their side” so the FDA will trust & approve it are all part of the bigger picture. Don’t want any of them chasing us down the rabbit hole now, do we?

Let us have some tea, shall we?

 aliceintobaccolandtea

Tobacco control for the cessation world, involves “approved methods”, counseling, quit lines & other mythical suggestions in tobacco-land such as the always encouraging “quit or die”, you’re not trying hard enough… as smokers travel down the stop smoking hole…

Along come vaping products. Contested? Hot topic? Absolutely. Proof? Yep. Doubts? As far as your fingers can tweet or read in the media in the U.S.A..

It seems simple, really. Less tobacco use by smokers with an alternative in ANY way possible by anyone in the public health field, or by organizations like the Heart, Lung or Cancer associations… would be immediately and swiftly encouraged……well – that, my readers seems to be a fairy tale.

On to “Alice”.

To be balanced there has been some tweeting of vaping products as an alternative. I can’t possibly search for them all, but DID get a “maybe” here in 2015.

Here, in 2014, there was “waiting on evidence”.

Smokers falling a long way seem to always land in a hall with many locked doors….and a table appears… with concoctions and promises of cures to the smoker trying to stop with “try me” and “use as directed” and “FDA approved”. What do they feel, those trying so hard?

Shame.

Without success, a smoker is shamed regardless of the method chosen. (That is Tobacco Control training 101, is it not?)  Shamed, by everyone and their brother – who have been taught that forEVER.

Frustration.

Despite the EFFORT to cease tobacco use, the tobacco plant has nicotine. The cigarette has -how many other- chemicals that also MAKE tobacco addictive by design. Nicotine itself is not addictive, but the world doesn’t know – because they’ve been taught that as well… so they offer nicotine “replacement” therapies. (Love that word “therapy”).

Disillusion.

After multiple attempts for various reasons – be it poor health, children, mortality sinking in, whatever the personal decision was to try -the quit attempt fails or is aborted and the tobacco control machine turns to spin cycle. Round & round the smoker goes, falling down the rabbit hole.

We don’t know enough -about- long term effects. We know enough despite our own government’s challenge of regulations – we’ve stopped smoking -many accidentally- in a way NO other product or advice has come close to succeeding with on our journey down the hole. We communicate with each other via twitter, facebook and more. Learning daily. Empowered, making an impact.

As for long term effects? Well – we’re not smoking – if it were EXACTLY the same risk – I certainly wouldn’t have a blog.

Know enough, Alice. Make a commitment. Part of the perils of knowing enough is learning as much as you can, without bias and being able to relay that knowledge to others seeking information.

Speaking fluently with truth and conviction, will come naturally.

Long term:

agent

What is your definition of a long term study?

Supportive & hopeful methods are applied here.

BUT

The Pool of Tears

“Alice swims through her own tears and meets a mouse, who is swimming as well. She tries to make small talk with him in elementary French –  but her opening gambit “Où est ma chatte?” (“Where is my cat?”) offends the mouse and he tries to escape her.”

That’s the thing about Alice. Clarity. I’m still not sure how clear she is. I need some more tea!

RUTH

Pig and Pepper

“The Cheshire Cat appears in a tree, directing her to the March Hare’s house. He disappears, but his grin remains behind to float on its own in the air, prompting Alice to remark that she has often seen a cat without a grin but never a grin without a cat.”

 A Mad Tea-Party

“Alice becomes a guest at a “mad” tea party along with the March Hare, the Hatter, and a very tired Dormouse who falls asleep frequently, only to be violently woken up moments later by the March Hare and the Hatter. The characters give Alice many riddles and stories…”

   I cannot tell.

Yes. That’s where a consumer could choose an alternative to tobacco.

Not sure about you, but the ‘real world’ is where we are using #e-cigarettes instead of tobacco.

I’m as authentic as they come. Lorien is also. I troll her more than I troll you. 🙂

Ahhh…. nicotine. That’s another of my blogs.

Potential? Huh. Safer but too early to be so blithely reassuring?

See – told you Lorien is authentic. Genuine & approved.

Which are you, proponent or opponent?

Alice, involved in a paper with C. Gartner:

Dueling letters: which one would you sign?

In 2014, DO INDEED was capitalized for emphasis. I appreciate that.

Advice from a Caterpillar

I appreciate the fact that “Alice” is willing to engage with most on twitter. As you know, most of her colleagues will block and never engage.

Simon Chapman and Stan GlANTZ are two examples of (legaleeze: may, might, could) conniving denying monkeys. (Haven’t blogged Capewell or McKee yet.)

Everyone tweets something they regret at one time or another. We’re all human  -except the jury isn’t in on @Entropy72 yet.

This is where I was actually shocked at you. I know from another – personal experience when a professional diagnosis became a lawsuit to a “commoner”. Thing is, we’re professionals just like you. All walks of life, including mental health.

You took your well deserved lumps.

Then you did it again…….

I couldn’t tell if you were joking on this one any more than I can tell your true position on less harm with vaping products.

So off we go to the final chapter of Alice In TobaccoLand…

(Update November,2019)

Then you did it again.

Alice’s Evidence

The Queen shouts her familiar “Off with her head!” but Alice is unafraid, calling them out as just a pack of cards, just as they start to swarm over her.

You engage with anecdotal vapers quaintly without making a statement. Teetering on a picket fence without committing. Rocking back and forth. A dangerous line of indecision. I strongly suggest focusing your eyes on the alleged ball, Less tobacco use for the public. I imagine the implications of a “well respected by her peers” professional like yourself facing one of two possibilities.

  1. You’ll be ostracized by them by merely stating the emperor has no clothes. (Think of the thousands of twitter friends you’ll gain!)
  2.  You’ll empower them to take the stand with you, realizing the potential of millions of smokers very lives hang in the frustrating and disillusioned balance.

Either way, you can’t win, I suppose. Indignant irreverence for your own chosen profession, recognizing the “public” in public health and the public it intends to serve -at least at face value- is unacceptable.

You yourself are a Professor, a nurse, an environmental activist. The Editor of BMJ Tobacco Control Journal. You cannot convince me you’re set on sitting in the middle in a rocking chair on a fence. Being pragmatic  <–(funny that link mentions a unicorn) is “real-world application”.

I am the real world. This is not a guessing game, and lives are at stake. TAKE your eyes “OFF the ball” of tobacco for a moment. Vaping products are being regulated, restricted, taxed & banned as if – tobacco control’s livelihood – is at stake. Rather than being accepted as one way to become the end game, it is the ball they have become.

Speak to colleagues – some who are active tobacco control members around the world, all who have professional titles. They aren’t some rogue set of flunkies, they are your counterparts. Colleagues. Each are aiming for the same goal. Tobacco harm reduction. Here, at M.O.V.E..

Once you’ve done so, you can decide which this is. Real harm reduction, where you can join other members of M.O.V.E. and take a stand publicly against the fire and brimstone establishment  – who don’t like to be tested….

Or grab a match… pick your poison… and let the cards fall where they may.

cards

I invited you to the A Billion Lives premier, you respectfully declined.  (I was serious.)

You shouldn’t be offended, though. Did you see what I wrote about Simple Simon Chimpmanzee?

A T̶h̶r̶e̶e̶ Seven Year Journey, Times Two. #TheDayIQuit

smoking1

My story is like most everyone else in the journey to “not smoking” with an e-cig. I didn’t plan on smoking as a kid, surely none of us did. But – I did. Starting around the age of 9 or so with the neighbor kids –  and like many, easily swiping cigarettes from my Father. “Old Gold 100’s”. I’d only grab two or three at first… didn’t want him to miss any of them.

jan&i9.jpg

I didn’t realize I could’ve taken more and he probably would’ve thought he smoked them. He eventually switched to Raleigh 100’s…  well, I wasn’t having that.

I was already rather fond of the Old Golds.

jan&i8

Looking back – it was pretty simple to go to the convenience store even at that age  – and purchase a pack of cigarettes. I was playing Pee-Wee football and would smoke on the way to & from practice. I’d smoke while doing my paper route…. you know ….

I got caught once at about 13. Dad said, “Want to be a man? You’ll smoke a mans cigar!” I was required to smoke – and yes inhale – a rum soaked cigar – with my father – who coincidentally put his out after about 1/3rd of it was gone…  I on the other hand, smoked mine to the nub between going green. If it went OUT, he said I’d have to smoke another one. Yes I was sick as a dog. No, it didn’t deter me from smoking. I certainly learned my lesson about cigars, though.

Once I had become “allowed” to smoke at 16, with a job and a die-hard fan of Marlboro Lights… the habit was set into motion.

Married to my wife in 1992- she was a smoker as well. I continued the long standing family tradition of smoking,  I’d moved brands by this time, what with a family planned, those faithful coupons weren’t as tempting as they once were, Doral became the brand of choice for price – and taste. Sort of.

jan&I12

Here I was escorting my Gram in to a wedding reception – with her cigarette case in hand. Something about that woman. NEVER met a stranger. She was a rock. She smoked Pall Mall non-filters all my life, and I joked that she was ~ more a man than I’d ever be ~ for doing so. When she did quit smoking, she did it cold turkey. Gram developed lung cancer 15 years after she stopped smoking. I miss her dearly.

jan&i2

Time does fly, along come the kids in 1995 & 1998. Having no health issues myself – thankfully, I kept on smoking – as did the wife.

Guilt set in a little….as a parent, when you’ve got monkeys running around, there’s bound to be some sense of “gottaquit”. The gum & patch, for a lack of better descriptions were used and tossed like the idea of quitting 15 times – or more, and of course it was “for the children™”.

jan&i3

Well into my late 30’s, friends “my age” were starting to pass away. “Smoking related” or not, My own mortality was setting in a bit. You remember – looking at your cigarette thinking – I need to quit.

I’d had their tails removed at birth, but the monkeys were getting older.

Along comes a family event, and all of us had not been together in the same place at the same time in years. Some have or had stopped smoking on their own since with a patch, gum or other methods. At the time of this photo, 5 of the 8 you see here were still smokers.

October 2011

Somewhere between 2010 & 2013 – I’d “heard” of e-cigarettes…and I believe it was the FDA seizure story – don’t remember exactly “what it was”, but ppppffffft… nothing else worked – besides, the kids were getting older, and I was set to be a life-long smoker. As a co-worker pointed out to me as I smoked two cigarettes to his one on a break one day, I was a “professional smoker”.

May 22rd, 2013. The week of a Nashville wedding, I decided to get a Krave brand “cigalike”. I couldn’t smoke in my work truck and thought – what the hell –

The disposable worked so well, I got two kits the next day, May 23rd, 2013 – and so did my wife. Accidentally. I wasn’t planning on quitting – neither was she. We’d stopped smoking in under 48 hours.

Jan & I were the only one at the gathering in the family to “still smoke”, and with our kits in hand – these cigalikes – were working.

These are the first two photos of me as a non-smoker during that week and didn’t even know it. Neither of us happened to “dual use”. We just stopped smoking. A month later we had ego style kits and had long forgotten we were smokers. Accidentally. This was me three seven years ago.

My Niece!

headinsand

With my head in the sand deeper than others, I was b a r e l y on social media. I was dumb & happy – not knowing what evil there was online. I didn’t have a twitter account. I only had family and friends on Facebook – pretty normal – uneventful. More than a year later – towards the end of 2014, I was looking up something about something – and found twitter –  within a couple months I was in the thick of “Oh, my”.

These people are supposed to be professionals in charge and they’re acting like idiots.

Wow, they need to understand vaping works!!! How dare they!!! Those people led to the start of this blog. That led to this survey.

vapers.org.uk (who I adore) placed it on their site – and that led to many other things including the worldwide fight….

jan&i6

Dad & I in 2006. At almost 70, the absolute die-hard smoker he was – quit cold turkey.

Still craved them, but he had quit.

He knew I had quit with an e-cigarette before he died of lung cancer at 71 in September of 2015.

Of all the things I’ve enjoyed about my journey is that my wife Janice – accidentally quit with me. She didn’t have to. She chose to. A three seven year journey – times two.

I’ve had opportunity and engagement with most of you who may read this via Twitter & Facebook – every bit of it positive, educational and with some, very personal. I’ve learned more – and still learn daily – from you all. For that, and your friendships, I am forever grateful.

Organizations & Politicians LIE about E-cigs. It’s a business decision.

tax1

In the never-ending onslaught of misleadings articles about vaping, this one,  by Maggie Fox  (Senior health writer @NBCNewshealth Science/Health/Tech)  was titled: “E-Cigarettes should be a last resort, heart doctors say“. There is clearly a discrepancy or three in this one. There are no mentions of any heart doctors in the article , instead the title guides the reader straight into the American Heart Association.  It is possible to assume crack staff  writer Maggie may not know the difference between heart doctors and the the AHA? A quick search doesn’t show Nancy Brown is a heart doctor. I could be wrong.

Please continue smoking:

According to the article, the  AHA, evidently, would prefer smokers to keep smoking  – and if you must, only try e-cigarettes as a last resort. CEO at the AHA, Nancy Brown states “the FDA should HURRY UP and regulate them”. We don’t want to dilly-dally  with regulations, do we?  Evidently the Heart Association’s intriguing “last resort” thing is a new POLICY. Those funds won’t just appear in the bank on their own, FDA. Hurry up. Toot-suite. Quick, like a bunny – before the public finds out what organizations and politicians are UP TO.

The comfort level must be almost unbearable with the film A Billion Lives due to be released shortly. Once it’s out, the lies will be exposed, and the public scrutiny of regulations will begin. Chop-chop, FDA. They can’t hold their lying breath forever!

Fox takes innuendo to the standard level, eluding to the usual wrong “children” stats (discrepancies are here & here ) while misinforming her readers. There’s the obligatory lie statement from Nancy Brown : “We are fiercely committed to preventing the tobacco industry from addicting another generation of smokers”.  Of course there’s the obligatory lie statement of vaping being a gateway, and nicotine being the root of all evil.

The link in the article – to the lies statement from the American Heart Association – is “not released” and unavailable. So, who are the doctors saying last resort? Brown was quoted in the article, stating “We fear that any additional delay of these new regulations will have real, continuing public health consequences”.

Yes, Nancy Brown, the business decisions you make health consequences are that the public will believe your lies and continue to smoke – since e-cigarettes will be treated the same in your world. Regulation in the form of taxes, is the goal. Remember when LESS smoking was the goal? Milk is not beef, syrup is not wood and nicotine is not tobacco. Deny it all you like, Research does exist, Nancy.

The Lung Association.

The Lung Association, headed by National President & CEO Harold Wimmer, has a business decision stance as well.  Out in California, my pal, Senator Mark Leno – after being defeated with SB140 last year, has revamped his effort to have e-cigarettes “accurately defined as tobacco products”. Olivia Gertz – the CEO of California’s chapter of the Lung Association is found here gloating stating she’s “proud to co-sponsor” legislative efforts with her business decision “to increase the state’s dismal national ranking in tobacco taxes“,  where they also mentioned the obligatory youth and health lie statements like above, yet taxes are the goal….

Bear with me as I’ll babble incessantly for your amusement:

Dismal ranking, Olivia? Embarrassed much? You’re worried about appearances? Is this a mirror check? LESS tobacco tax revenue = LESS smoking. That’s from all those vapers NOT smoking. Um, You’re WELCOME? Remember when organizations wanted us to NOT smoke?  Didn’t anyone plan properly for a drop in revenue from the “tobacco control efforts” over time taking the credit? SURPRISE. We’re doing YOUR job as well.

Now, as SFATA pointed out, former smokers  who use e-cigarettes – along with the tax in California – and believe me, this will be EVERYWHERE:

sfata.PNG

That’s not acceptable.

Sorry, didn’t mean to yell. Who’s in charge? Where is the evidence and science to arbitrarily make things up? WHERE are the leaders? Why aren’t more in “public health” acting like Jim? Who will be the last organization standing? They are lying. They are making business decisions. If they have their way, they both will be. The AHA and the ALA were once well respected organizations within America. They once put their efforts towards helping people stay healthy (and educated, supposedly) in the minds of millions. Now they’re choosing instead to lie recoup millions of dollars in revenue, a day, keeping their business decisions and lies motives at bay to the general public at any cost. Their business decisions are now costing lives.

These (many) organizations who are now placing themselves squarely in the middle of the ring, hell bent on convincing the public they are fighting the good fight on vaping. Their only goal is to L I E to keep pressure on public opinion with the ONLY goal of “regulating” e-cigarettes for the sole purpose of keeping themselves in BUSINESS with tax revenue.

Accountability cannot come soon enough.

The American Lung Association: Reducing Tobacco. The Litmus Test & Ulterior Motives

defendantsIt looks good on paper, doesn’t it? The caring about the children. The battle cry of well respected organizations, backed by other respected organizations.

It seems to the average reader or viewer to be well thought out concern. Their scathing letter to the President is below.

They must have one common goal. Tobacco harm reduction for the children. It says so right in the letter below! Well, I’d beg to differ, but I’m all over begging. I’m going to tell you the truth.

Litmus Test: A test that uses a single indicator to prompt a decision.

Reduction of tobacco USE worldwide is “everyone in public healths” goal.

Think about that.

The World Health Organization (W.H.O.) recently said they had a

TWENTY-FIVE year GOAL to reduce smoking.

That’s not a goal, that’s a plan to keep revenue.

Here’s the Litmus Test:

Do e-cigarettes reduce tobacco use?

Yes.

That should do it for ANY ORGANIZATION pretending they want less smoking.

Responsible organizations like (M.O.V.E) say e-cigarettes should be encouraged.

Period.

Those are Doctors. Scientists. Researchers. Medical Professionals. Are they all wrong?

There’s plenty of research but the irresponsible organizations in the photo above and letter they’ve SIGNED below are conveniently omitting from their calculations of math on the “worries of children” and public health.

Wait… they’re calculating the numbers… and it isn’t working out to their advantage.  What you may not realize is that

THESE ORGANIZATIONS ARE A BUSINESS. FUNDING.

Now the irresponsible letter to the President from these people and their organizations, it’s short and to their point. I would think if I had the President’s attention, I’d mention the efforts in reducing tobacco. They want “regulation”.

Notice their letter doesn’t show any science, doesn’t ask to reduce TOBACCO, (they want to keep it around) just claims of children, flavors, and regulations (for tax revenue purposes) on e-cigarette use.

The Lung Association deleted it from their website, but this is a PDF

LungAssociation

which have been properly dismissed already right here

(By Sally Satel, a Doctor):

Why The CDC Has It Wrong About The Rise In Teen Vaping

Why are they so rushed to want the President to take action? Are they REALLY worried about kids?

I believe a couple on this list might actually care about children. I don’t think they do. They all have ulterior motive.

That’s harsh to say, right? You’d think so, but wait! They SIGNED their NAMES to this.  I’m just calling them out.

Litmus Test: A test that uses a single indicator to prompt a decision.

Litmus Test. Do e-cigs take revenue away from organizations, both private and public? YES.

They most certainly do. That’s more like it.

Tobacco?

Of course! They’re LOSING cigarette sales! That’s why they’re falling on themselves to get into the market. Think of the money they’re losing!

 Public Health?

Yep. All forms of smoking-related health care will be needed less….and already IS. Doctor visits, hospital visits…less cancer, less heart issues…. breathing issues… less COPD… the list is endless. In ten years, if these organizations don’t get their way…

Think of the money they’re losing!

Tobacco Control – Research – Anti-Tobacco Services.

Lung Association, Stop smoking clinics. You know the rest….

Grants! Donations! $$$ Customers $$$  !

Think of the money they’re losing!

Pharmaceutical Companies!

Drug companies can’t sell their drugs to stop smoking (which if I remember have about a 7% success rate) and the drugs they also manufacture and SELL because of smoking illnesses….   $$$$$

Think of the money they’re losing!

Government? Well…. they’ve got the winning hand.

Yes they do. TAXES.

Think of the money they’re losing!

Their Ponzi Scheme

Are vaping and e-cigarettes are working and worthwhile as a harm reduction device?

When those who will lose money and not profit from it respond so vehemently and irresponsibly to it, something is wrong. They are not being truthful, and they have their financial reasons for it.

If they oppose it, they want you to smoke. If they know the “dangers” they claim, (MUCH LESS than smoking) they’d FIX those expediently with great care, and end tobacco as we know it in ten years. Not in 25. No sense in doing that, they won’t profit from it.

If there Is a deafening silence, they’re making profit already.

Think of the money they’re losing!

Health Issues Concerning E-Cigarette Users, Public Health Experts, FDA & CDC; For Immediate Release.

heart

E-cigarettes have been around more than 10 years. Toxins & carcinogens are just some of the harsh warnings from politicians and governments worldwide to the public, yet the popularity continues to rise, despite the studies they have seen.

Usage is at an all time high regardless of the latest campaigns warning of possible effects and  public health experts continuing to demonize these devices claiming not enough is known.

Users are coming clean with their experiences.

Below are testimonies from users giving first hand accounts of their personal accounts.

No edits, answers are exactly as given in response to a worldwide survey in response to health issues associated with their individual e-cigarette usage.

These are anonymous answers, there are no conflicts of interest. No individual was compensated for their answers or time, all answers were voluntarily given. These are their voices.

less chronic cough during winter

not significantly, but better

I am asthmatic since baby, thanks to vapotage I no longer suffer to the problem.

Ha-ha, love the “yes” and “no” answers to that open question !

Los beneficios han sido evidentes desde el principio casi.

Additional benefits: far fewer colds and other passing infections since changing to vaping. NO coughing or chest infections at all.

I was hospitalized for double pneumonia and doctor said he saw no detrimental effect to vaping and that perhaps the moisture would in fact be good for breaking up my lungs. And some insurance companies are now considering vaping to not he considered as a smoker which lowers insurance premiums.

In the first week i could breath better, walk stairs without going out of breath. I have less colds and the one i have heals faster.

My bad smokers cough has all but gone, and I don’t get out of breath as quickly when exercising

I cut my 5K run time by 8 minutes.

Sense of taste & smell back to normal after 45 years. No cruddy lungs. Hardly ever suffer from colds now. House & car smells like a sweet shop.

Being a diabetic (type 2) since I started vaping my bs reading are somewhat higher. Now as I have only found 1 juice I like, if it is affecting my BS levels it’ll be a bit of a bugger.

I coughed myself to a bloody mess while smoking. Research showed; cancer, no. copd, yes. I was already coughing for a long time a lot.

I never cough now and I can breathe better. I am also not so depressed.

My fingers used to go white on cold days, but now I don’t suffer with that or the chilblains that I used to. I must assume my circulation is improving.

Since i’m vaping my Health is much better than before.

I simply feel better in myself generally

I think when you stuff up and get e-juice directly in your mouth this could be an issue that may cause irritation at least.

I feel betetr and can breathe easier now.

Because vaping is healthier than smoking

Because i feel loads better vaping and i am way happier

I do blood test every 6-12 months to monitor my liver due to my long term liver condition. The condition has been improving over last 18 months.

My weight has increased donce I quit smoking and started using an e-cigarette…which was an annoying but acceptable downside.

Stomach problems doctor said vaping causes it. Acid.

I’m able to smell much much better since i vape (that is sometimes a disadvantage, e g in the Underground Train …)

I can taste food better too 😀

Sanity, yes the present anti smoking tactics are driving people mad!

Taste and smell is sharper. Also no phlegm.

Better overall improvement in my health.

I haven’t noticed any benefits really. But i was starting to develop a cough upon waking just before i started vaping and the cough went away within a week of starting vaping.

Taste and smell are back to

No more BP meds or cholesterol meds required now. Only thing which is slow to recover and continues to be a bit of an issue is poor circulation.

Don’t cough all the time any more, don’t wheeze when I work hard, don’t feel like I’m dying after a night of drinking and my taste is as I remember it before I became a smoker.

I still have some breathing issues but I have gained quite a bit of weight. Not because of vamping but due to an injury that immobilised me for some time.

There is no longer the nasty smoke smell and smokers breath that comes with using cigarettes.

I do feel better in myself.

Fortunately I didn’t experience health problems from smoking, so there was no change after switching to vaping. I have had bronchitis twice since vaping though, and had never had it before when smoking. I also have frequent problems with throat and bronchial irritation, dryness and soreness from vaping.

generallly felt better

Haven’t really noticed any changes maybe easier to breathe

I had no health issues from smoking, but since starting to vape, I have had no colds, flu, or hayfever.

Right at the start i did have some bleeding gums sore throut and coughing up all kinds of bad stuff, but i had similar problems in other quit efforts

i have a slight intolerance to PG, but if i smke a 70/30 VG/PG i am ok

Heavy vaping can be dehydrating & can upset gums or throat, even get on your chest a little but those things are more common with cheap mystery e-liquids. By contrast, good quality e-liquids from trusted vendors where we can trace the ingredients are far friendlier. The symptoms are minor compared with those from smoking.
You should learn about what is in e-liquid & how to select different ratios of pg & vg.

My taste, and smell have also improved………

I don’t cough in the morning, also stopped producing any kind of black mucus. I breathe easier and can do exercice for longer without running out of breath.

BECAUSE ITS TRUE

Only a problem with dry mouth hurting me.

vape is extremely profitable

I have some health problems already, but they were not smoking-related. I haven’t noticed any health improvements, but I am happy that I am avoiding the risk of smoking-related health probles now!

Cardiac and family doctors both say I’m better.

dont get a cold as often as I used to

No wheezing, no extreme wheezing when lying down, lung test I tested way better than my age! No more blood pressure meds since down to zero nic.

My allergies improved, the slight smoker’s cough I had is gone, and my overall health has improved noticeably. I simple feel better.

Cholesterol dropped from 430 to 280 (w/o medication), stamina greatly increased, lost all indications of perio (previously treated for 10 years), total loss of angina events

I have more energy, my heart rate doesn’t go nuts when I climb a flight of stairs. It’s great.

I can run up stairs again. I don’t get winded dragging my trashcans down my 500-foot long driveway, and I’m back into mountain biking.

My cigarette habit affected my health in such a way that I had to sell my old mountain bike.

3 doctors are thrilled and have me down as a former smoker.

Singing voice is much better of after only a month off pf the cigarettes, the vape doesn’t seem to do any harm as long as I’m not dehydrating, but thats just all the more reason to stay hydrated.

MY LUNG’S SOUND CLEAR AND MY PULSE AND BLOOD PRESSURE ARE BELOW NORMAL NOW. I WORK OUT AND I HAVE A PULSE OF 60 NOW INSTEAD OF 88 AND MY BP IS 102-64 WHICH IS EXCELLANT.

Breathing is better. Sleep pattern is better. I feel all round much healthier since quitting smoking.

I feel 100% more healthy since I quit smoking

I feel much fitter in every aspect. Only side effect I’ve noticed is a dry mouth in the mornings.

I have not had any adverse effects since I started vaping.

I dont use my inhaler nearly as much just when my allergy kicks in

Breathe easier, less coughing, don’t stink, less headaches

I didn’t smoke long enough to have any medically diagnosed issues, but I have noticed a significant drop in pain from deep breathing, and soooooooo much less coughing.

I fell beter in every point since I am vaping

No more smokers cough, more stamina, it smells nothing after cold smoke, the taste buds have recovered.

.

my breathing is better, my food taste better and i am sleeping better

I wasn’t a smoker, but I do experience psychological benefits. It helps me relax and de-stress

I’ve never had blood tests etc but I feel amazing. Far better than when I was smoking.

All around better health. Doc commented that my lungs haven’t sounded THAT good in a long while

For years I’ve had problems with my tonsils, every 3-4 months they got infected. Since I quit smoking I hadn’t had any problems with them whatsoever.

only one cough/cold in over 2 years

When ever I walk by someone vapeing it triggers an asthma attack.

Used to fail lung function tests as a smoker – had to do lung function tests at work in the factory I worked in they were done 3 monthly – failed every one of them, when I had been vaping 11 months I had a lung function test at my local hospital – I passed – and the nurse advised that my lung capacity at that time was only 2% less than a non smoker – I would be interested in having another one in a years time to see what level my lungs are then

Yes and no are odd options here. Also have better skin and appetite.

I breath better and the morning coughing jags are gone.

You forgot the one that says: No more bad breath.
Also in 2014 I saved 60.300 NOK by not buying cigarettes.

I can Smell better, my taste improved.

no coughing in the morning, less coughing in general, when ill. Less susceptible to common cold and such, sense of smell and taste are better, curtains and living environment in general smells better (usually fruity) 🙂 etc…

Barley using my asthma inhalers what a difference

I have noticed no differences, positive or negative, since I started vaping

Haven’t really noticed any difference

No pneumonia this last year, usually had it 2-3 times a year while smoking.

Better breathing, better smelling ability, better overall feeling.

I get occasional tickling in the back of my throat when I don’t drink enough liquids whilst vaping. Nothing compared to my laboured breathing and morning coughs when smoking though!

breathing, strength increased

When I smoked I had heavy smokers cough,
sometimes so strong that I could hardly breathe.

The smoker’s cough is completely gone.

Since I vapors can I smell better.
A week after I smelled immediately if a smoker was near the bus, or passing me left.

I started on 27 March with 11mg nicotine, now I have reduced to 3 mg nicotine.

complexion improved and not had one cold or flu bug since vaping…due to the PG i assume…being an fda approved air sanitiser

I do have problems with flavours, so I use them only in very low concentrations <1%.

My stamina is much better, I breath much easier, walking uphill and in stairs isn’t as much of a hassle as it used to be, and my fingers, nails and teeth aren’t as yellow as they used to be.

My lungs feels healthier.

i can feel it for my health was vaping the right Thing.

better health

Never felt better. Vapeing saved my life.

My astma has disapearred and I can breath normally.
My overall condition is better, taste and smell is better.

It’s true…

BP down significantly.
Breathing better.
Sleep better.
Stopped snoring.
More energy.
Not cranky and resentful like other methods of trying to quit smoking.

better breathing, no slimy throat / smoker’s cough @morning, better tasting,..

There you have it. Health concerns public health experts, the FDA & CDC don’t want to hear. They in fact are ignoring them. Beneficial Bias? Yes. Truth? Absolutely.

Why are they ignoring the best way to reducing smoking or eliminating it all together?

Tobacco Control & others including the American Lung Association have their own view. They don’t like smoking, but they don’t like e-cigs. One would think any anti-tobacco agency would embrace these as a way to get people off of tobacco, but there are other motives. It seems “control” is slipping away from them one quitter at a time.

Reasons Tobacco Control, Public Health, Government & Politicians don’t like e-cigs.
